Ch.8.. Delights and Annoyances...

It took the whole rest of the day for Princess Chie to reach her family's castle in the Southern Lands. The castle was much smaller than Sesshoumaru's own, but it was just as grand. Made in the traditional Japanese design of white stone and mortar, with green roof tiles, the castle was beautifully fit for the inu lords inside. Chie's family was the clan of the Brown Inu. Not as powerful as the Silver Inu Clan of course. But not weaklings either. Which was why Sesshoumaru had given their princess a try. 

As the princess reached it she went straight for her father, not caring how late it was, she knocked on her parent's bedroom door, and was allowed inside. She ran hysterically crying to her mother, who hugged her. Her father just frowned. 

“What did you do?” Her father asked frowning. Seemingly knowing his daughter's tendencies. 

“I went to see him. I had to talk to him daddy.” Princess Chie said crying loudly. 

“Are you insane girl? You could have gotten killed. Our delegation came back in pieces. The Lord clearly wants nothing else to do with you, and I will not start a war with the West because of this.” The lord said speaking rationally like a Lord. He knew his lands' power was no match against an angered Lord of the West. 

“But daddy!! He already replaced me daddy!! He dishonors me in such a fashion after everything I did for him.” Princess Chie cried. 

Her father rolled her eyes. “You did nothing for him. The last living delegate told us there is no heir in Lord Sesshoumaru's castle. His guards told them. The lord buried his heir two days after you gave birth. You lied to me when you said your pup had lived, and Sesshoumaru had kept him. Your pup died. That is why he threw you out. A powerful Taishio pup does not die two days after birth.” Her father said, Her mother let her go and stood by her mate. 

“Is this true Chie? Did you lie to us?” Her mother asked shocked at her daughter's behavior. 

“But... It wasn't my fault! It must have been the healer. My pup was born alive daddy!! I swear!!” Princess Chie said crying, sitting on her parent's bed. Trying to make them believe her excuses. 

“So what the kappa said was true. You where unable to produce a pup strong enough to withstand their bloodline, and then you lie to us about it. Go to your room and stay there until I figure out what to do with you!” The Lord said keeping a growl to himself. 

“Daddy!! You're going to let me stay in dishonor? He replaced me with a hanyou breeder daddy!!! A HANYOU!!” Princess Chie said getting up and growling loudly. 

The Lord blanched at that. “Inu hanyou?” He asked with visible shock. 

“Yes, daddy! An INU HANYOU!!! What does that matter??!!” Chie asked getting more upset that her father wasn't seemingly caring about her problem. 

“Chie listen to me very carefully, and I want you to get this in your head, you foolish girl. You tried. Every inu princess has tried! Get over it! Do not go near Lord Sesshoumaru again or his new Hanyou! Do you understand me girl?” The lord said. 

“WHY!? I can deal with a hanyou, and then Lord Sesshoumaru will have to have me again! I know I can give him an heir if we try again daddy!!” Princess Chie said but just earned a growl from her parents. 

“There is only one living inu hanyou Chie. Prince Inuyasha. Lord Sesshoumaru's brother. Every Prince and unmated Lord has been after him to make him their mate. If what you say is true then Lord Sesshoumaru won him, he will not allow anything to happen to him if he's carrying already. You will be flirting with death.” Chie's mother explained. 

“Forget Lord Sesshoumaru, No one has been able to kill that hanyou! Not even Naraku, and he was the worst. Do not go near him!” Chie's father explained. 

Chie frowned and pouted. “I wouldn't get beaten by some flea bitten hanyou! I'll show everyone how powerful I am! I'll win Sesshoumaru back!!!” Chie said rushing out of her parent's room, going to her own, still crying, now more out of anger than anything else. Her own parents doubting her. 

He parents looked at each other with concern. “That idiot girl is going to get herself killed.” Her father said ordering a servant to come. As he went over to his desk and started to pen a letter. 

“What are you doing?” His mate asked. 

“Writing to Lord Sesshoumaru. Hopefully if he sees that Chie lied to us, he'll accept our humble apologies and not stay angered with us. I'll also warn him that we will no longer be helping our daughter, and he will be free to deal with her without retribution if she does not listen to our warnings.” The lord said. He hated to do this. But the girl was earning her own fate if she kept pushing things. She was not the only one that had been tossed aside by Sesshoumaru. Every princess had the same dishonor, and all of them had dealt with it. Most had even gotten remated, and had produced good pups for other Lords and Princes. 

“But he'll kill her?!” Her mother said shocked. 

“And what will you have me do? Help her insanity? He'll kill us all if he thinks we have tried to harm his mate you know that!” The lord said. 

“We don't even know if he's mated the hanyou truly. He could be using him for a season. He hasn't announced anything.” The lady said. 

“Exactly woman! He's protecting the hanyou! Think of it! If he was using the hanyou for a season, he would have announced it!” The lord said. “Not announcing it means he's protecting a new bonding mating, and probably a pup. Should have known... Taishio blood.. Even diluted Taishio blood would be the only thing powerful enough to produce another pup in that line. Mark my words... That hanyou will be protected against everything.” The Lord said sighing as he wrote. Once done he sealed the letter, the paper and seal white, as a sign of peaceful intentions. Once sent off he and his mate retired. He'd have to speak to his own heir and warn him about this as well.

One and a half months later, Inuyasha's pregnancy was the picture of perfection. The healer was more than amazed. The pup seemed to be gaining more and more strength and power as the days passed. Currently however, that was the least of anyone's worries or thoughts. The Lord, his mate and the kit where all outside in the castle courtyard watching a regal, beautiful looking silver white inu demoness coming closer. The Lady Inu kimi landed, gracefully changing into her human form. 

Inuyasha got closer to Sesshoumaru, trying not to growl from the cold, inhumane look the woman gave him. God she was creepier than Sesshoumaru ever was. 'No wonder he's a fucking iceberg. “MOTHER!” Sesshoumaru said growling, while looking to her with disdain.

Inuyasha was just utterly confused. He looked up to Sesshoumaru. Sesshoumaru just stood there looking like an iceberg while he watched his mother without any love in his eyes for her at all. 

“Mother, you are here to meet him, as my only family acknowledge that his is mine, and carrying my pup. That is all. Do not come near him!” Sesshoumaru said barely holding back a growl, bearing his fangs at his mother when she came closer, just with a cold smirk on her face. 

“Oh... Sesshoumaru, you wound me. Oh... The hurt to my poor heart that my dear and beloved only child could think I would be capable of harming his precious mate.” Inu Kimi said crying fake tears, while covering half her face with a silk hand fan. 

Sesshoumaru rolled his eyes again. All the theatrics always got on his nerves. “You never change mother.” He said still iceberg cold tone, turning and heading into the castle with an arm wrapped around Inuyasha keeping him in front now. Still being careful of his mother. He didn't think she would truly harm Inuyasha. But he wasn't about to take any chances either. 

Inuyasha was still too confused. Was the woman that bad? Why would he invite her over if she was?! He supposed it was since she was family. He looked over seeing the kit silently staying close to him. He clearly didn't like the woman either. Shippou only stayed this quiet when he was truly petrified of someone. Inuyasha wondered how long she'd stay. Hopefully it wasn't going to be long. 

“And what excuses do you have for keeping out of contact with me for so long, Sesshoumaru. You'd think you'd be nice to your only living parent.” Inu Kimi said coming besides Sesshoumaru while also looking at how the castle had been kept up. She smiled. Her son had done a good job with his father's memory. 

“None. I did not want to see you.” Sesshoumaru said bluntly, making Inuyasha go wide eyed that he'd speak like that to his own mother. Shippou looked up to him throwing him the 'she's worse than we thought' look. Inuyasha nodded to the kit and just sighed. “Sesshoumaru... I need to eat soon...” He said sighing looking up to him. His stomach grumbled loudly the moment he said that. 

Sesshoumaru turned towards the dinning hall. Once there they all sat. Sesshoumaru, Inuyasha, and Shippou taking their normal seats. While Inu Kimi took a seat opposite Inuyasha on Sesshoumaru's left side. 

“When are you due?” Inu Kimi said with a small smile. Inuyasha just found it a bit creepy. 

“Huh.... In a month and a half... At least that's what the healer thinks. The pup isn't really following any rules.” Inuyasha said shrugging starting to eat. He and Shippou where eating better now. Not ever going hungry was helping with their patience for eating, Though Inuyasha still struggled to remember all the manners Sesshoumaru was trying to drill into his head. Still when he was starving, he'd still just pig out. Right now though he was trying to behave, with this woman in front of him. 

Inu Kimi smiled softly, watching the hanyou; Keeping her thoughts to herself. “You will call me when it's born won't you Sesshoumaru . I would very much like to see my grandchild.” She said giving him a smiling. 

“You will be notified mother.” Sesshoumaru said keeping the cold tone as he ate gracefully. 

“Good boy.” Inu Kimi said with a bright happy smile as she ate and finally saw Shippou. “A kit? Oh how delightful. Is he your pet son?” Inu kimi asked, making Shippou blanch. 

“The kit is Inuyasha's ward mother. He is off limits as well.” Sesshoumaru said the same as before. 

“Oh strange. For an inu to keep a kit.” Inu Kimi said looking to the two. Shippou was nearly glued to Inuyasha. Inuyasha sighed and rubbed Shippou's head. “She's not gonna hurt ya, just calm the fuck down.” Inuyasha said sitting Shippou down, sighing. He hadn't even breathed again yet when he felt a hard kick to his right side. “Ouch!!! Dammm mother.... fucking...” Inuyasha said just clenching his teeth, putting his hand to that side. Sesshoumaru was at his side in a flash. “It's kicking again...” Inuyasha ground out, whimpering in pain. The pup really did kicked hard. Sesshoumaru motioned for the healer to be called, as he placed a hand on the belly. Rubbing hoping to calm the pup. Sometimes it worked, this time was not one of those times.

Inuyasha growled again when another kick came from his left side. These where one of the things he never really understood, but figured the pup was just moving fast around in there. “I swear it's trying to kick it's way out Sesshoumaru.” He said nearly crying. He didn't realize there where three pups in there, and once one woke up, the moment got all the others kicking. 

“Shhh... It will be over soon.” Sesshoumaru said with a softer voice than the one he'd used with his mother. 

The healer was quickly there and handing Inuyasha a drink that would calm the pups down. They'd been having to use it for two weeks now, Ever since Inuyasha had hit that first month mark. Strangely enough Inuyasha had yet to have a human night since he got pregnant. The healer wasn't sure why, but he figured it had to do with the pregnancy. Something to keep the pup safe. 

Inuyasha drank it eagerly down, a few moments later the pups where calmer, And he was able to keep on eating. Though Sesshoumaru calmed, he kept an eye on his mate. Once he'd eaten everything. Inuyasha got up with the healer's help. “I'll take the prince to rest, my lord.” The healer said bowing slightly. Shippou got up, following after them. 

Sesshoumaru nodded to them, He didn't follow because he knew he still had to deal with his mother, and didn't want her to follow them into his suite. He wanted Inuyasha to rest. “What is it mother?” He asked looking to her with a knowing expression. 

“Why do you ask son?” Inu Kimi asked innocently. She'd been watching everything and her expert old eyes knew exactly what was going on with the hanyou. Not that she was going to say... What fun would that be? No, she would see how intelligent her son was. 

“You are thinking mother.” Sesshoumaru said calmly, coldly looking to her. “What is it?”

Inu Kimi smiled getting up. “I really should be going. Give my regards to your precious mate, dear.” Inu Kimi said walking out. 

Sesshoumaru growled. “MOTHER!” He growled loudly watching her. Inu Kimi turned looking to her son with that calm expression of hers. 

“You should watch him dear. You'll understand soon. Have your healer prepare for … surprises.” Inu Kimi said with a smirk and left after that. This would be fun. She couldn't wait to see her son's reaction. It would be fun indeed.

His mother left and it left him furious. How dare she leave without giving him a proper explanation. He knew she'd seen something. Something he was missing. He'd have to watch Inuyasha carefully indeed. He got up and walked back to his suite, still frowning, still lost in thought. His mind never even figuring that Inuyasha could be carrying mulitiples. It had never happened in his line. They where always much to powerful for multiples to survive. Even if a bitch did get pregnant with twins or more. Only one made it to birth after absorbing much of the power for itself. 

“How is he?” Sesshoumaru asked the healer once he was in his suite looking to a sleeping Inuyasha. He watched the belly move, distressing the pup in his sleep. He frowned. 

“The potion is working less and less my lord. I don't know how long it will work. The pup is getting very powerful.” The healer said looking to his Lord. 

“My mother said to be careful of surprises.” Sesshoumaru said frowning. 

“Yes...? Hmmmm...” The healer said turning back to the prince. “Good ones? Or?” He asked. 

“I am not sure.” Sesshoumaru said coming over sitting by Inuyasha's side rubbing the place where the pup was. “How is he holding up?” Sesshoumaru asked. 

“Very well my Lord. The prince is quite strong. The pain annoys him more than anything else. Specially when it interrupts his meals.” The healer explained. 

Sesshoumaru nodded and looked to his mate more. “He is still insatiable in bed. Will that harm him in the future?” He asked. 

“I don't believe so my lord. Of course as his due date comes closer I'll have to watch him more to make sure he's not over doing it, and you should start being more careful, and being more gentle with him.” The healer explaining. 

Sesshoumaru nodded. “Very well.” He said motioning for the healer to leave. “Kit, you have lessons.” Sesshoumaru said. 

“But... What about the creepy bitch?” Shippou asked pouting not wanting to go out if she was there. 

“She is not there any longer.” Sesshoumaru said calmly. Shippou just pouted and nodded. “Can I come back later?” The kit asked. The time they'd been here he and Sesshoumaru had been at a battle for the first month. He'd play a trick on the lord, like that one time that he'd put the die in the hot spring that turned Sesshoumaru's hair pink for a whole 3 hours; Or the time he'd put itching powder on the uniforms of the staff. That had been hilarious. Every time he did something Sesshoumaru would give him something horrible to do. He'd done everything from helping to clean the stables, to gutting and cutting the meat for the meals. It had been utterly disgusting. Inuyasha had tried to help, But after a while he just said 'you have to live with the consequences Shippou'. Not that it had broken him yet, Nope... At the moment he was only behaving until he figured out how to do it without Sesshoumaru knowing it was him. 

“You may, but know to knock first.” Sesshoumaru said watching the kit nod and leave. He knew the kit was up to something, but right now he didn't care. He sighed watching Inuyasha sleep. The boy would wake up starving. So he had the servants read to bring him more food. With nothing else to do for his mate at the moment he went to his desk besides the windows and sat down to work. As he did so he looked over the letter from the Lord of the South again. He was worried about this bitch causing problems. His guards saw her circling the castle from time to time, it was getting on his last nerve. He couldn't relax in his own home. If it didn't mean leaving Inuyasha here alone, he would be out there hunting her down. But no, that could be what she was after. For him to leave so she could have a chance at Inuyasha. He wouldn't allow it. Just the thought angered him. He looked up when Inuyasha moaned in his sleep and turned over to his side. Sesshoumaru sighed mentally looking to his mate. He was much to vulnerable right now. He would not leave his side. 



Little did he know how right he was. For a month now Princess Chie had been keeping a look out, hiding herself well, just watching the castle of the west. Keeping her nose on the scent of Sesshoumaru's mate. Oh how she despised the scent on that dammed hanyou. He smelled like sex most of the time. Like power, and energy. It was like his very aura emanated happiness and contentment. Well why shouldn't he. Dammed Hanyou had everything she wanted, and she couldn't stand it. She'd heard the talk around the towns of the West. Everyone was elated now that it was sure that the Lord would have a proper heir. Even though Sesshoumaru hadn't formally announced it, everyone of his people knew the Lord had an heir on the way, a powerful one. Though no one except the castle staff actually knew it was really Inuyasha carrying it. Many of the people just thought that part a delightful rumor. 

Princess Chie growled low in her throat, watching a strange woman leaving the castle of the west. She raised an eyebrow. The same markings as Sesshoumaru... She knew of Lady Inu Kimi. But hadn't ever met her. Lady Inu Kimi turned in mid air. Her inu form turning gracefully and looking in her direction, She ducked. Inu Kimi smirked softly to herself, knowingly. ::”You should leave girl. You only seek your death here.”:: Inu Kimi said mentally to Princess Chie. Then left back to her castle without another thought to her. Princess Chie growled, how dare that old bitch. What did she know! The lady of the Moon knew the girl wouldn't listen. So she only had to wait and see what would happen. She knew her son well, and knew her late mate's other pup by reputation. She wasn't worried.
