A Royal Pain

Sesshoumaru left Inuyasha to the rabble of humans as he departed the hot springs. Things were not going to plan as he had hoped. Inuyasha received more benefit out of their meeting than Sesshoumaru did although it had been a pleasant interlude to what was coming.

It wouldn’t take much for Sesshoumaru to gather up his brother and take him back home where he belonged. Problem would be Sesshoumaru would have to accept humans into his castle and that was one thing he was not certain he wanted.

Right now it didn’t matter though. Sesshoumaru had another task to finish. Now it was time for someone else to pay up and he was not going to get away no matter how far or how fast he could run.

Koga decided that he was going to take a day away from his pack to go and see what was going on with mutt face. It was too unusual for Inuyasha to be near his older brother without them fighting. At least that was what Kagome stated about the brothers.

Rushing through the forest Koga felt the freedom of all his burdens disappear for a time. Being a leader of a pack of wolves was hard work. Koga was the youngest leader that had been accepted as the Alpha male of his pack so he had to do twice the work to prove himself and after mating with Ayame he was forced to remain closer to the den than when Naraku was around. It was a good thing that human village that Kagome lived in wasn’t far from the caves.

As Koga ran faster towards his destination he suddenly realized he was being followed. Thinking he could outrun this thing that was following him, Koga pushed himself harder only to find that whatever it was following him was catching up.

Koga knew he couldn’t expel all of his energy by outrunning it so he came to a stop ready to face whatever it was.

Sesshoumaru walked towards the wolf demon cub that had dared to interrupt his night with Inuyasha and spoke to them both as though they were below him. This Koga was in for a hard lesson if he thought he could avoid the demon Lord.

“So you are fast too. Well I don’t have time for your games dog breathe.”

Sesshoumaru cocked his head to the side. Did this wolf really want to die?

The wolf boy was nervous and that would indeed do for this meeting.

“Remove your attire wolf cub.”

Koga was taken by surprise he would not do that for anyone.

“Fuck you.”

Sesshoumaru smirked at that response. Indeed the wolf was going to tread on thin ice. Sesshoumaru then pinned the wolf against a large tree.

“Then I shall remove them for you.”

With deadly poison claws Sesshoumaru held the wolf by his neck and with a slice of his claws Koga watched as his armor and fur kilt fell to the ground leaving him completely nude.

Koga kicked and tried to get Sesshoumaru off of him.

“Stop your struggling. It is for nothing other than to insure we are on even ground since you had the audacity to see me while I was bathing with my brother.”

Koga snarled.

“Well if mutt face would have stayed in the village I wouldn’t have bothered you. I made a vow to him so I was just holding up my end of the deal.”

Sesshoumaru continued to hold the stubborn wolf than he got a firm hold onto Koga’s long black hair pulling the wild wolf demon along and then threw Koga to the ground.

“Your wolves killed my Rin and since it was under your orders that this particular village was slain it is your fault my ward was killed. Did your wolves not pay attention to my scent? It was all over that girl and should have given them a clue to whom she belonged. Now you are vulnerable as she was so run away little wolf while you still can.”

Sesshoumaru cracked his knuckles and his neck preparing himself for a hunt.

Koga looked up at Sesshoumaru and growled.

“I can’t out run you.”

Sesshoumaru looked down at the wolf.

“Did that really matter to your wolves when an innocent child could not out run them? I suggest you get moving while you still can. Don’t worry I will give you a head start.”

Koga frowned at this, but fair was fair. He may not be able to run from Sesshoumaru, but he could hide his scent making it much more difficult to be tracked.

Sesshoumaru watched as the naked wolf Prince raced into the forest changing his shape into a rather large timber wolf. Koga was the only timber wolf born with piercing bright blue eyes the color of the morning sky.

Sesshoumaru gave the wolf ample time to escape him. Then Sesshoumaru transformed into his truest form. Sniffing the air Sesshoumaru was able to track the wolf’s aura down, but of course Koga didn’t know that.

“That little wolf may be able to hide his scent, but he cannot change the fact he is one of my demons. I can find him anywhere.”

Sesshoumaru decided to play along a little bit since the hunt would not be as much fun if he were to attack Koga right away. The plan of course was to kill him just as he had ordered his wolves to do to Rin. Then he would decide what to do from that point on.

Koga ran as fast as his four legs could go trying to maneuver himself into a small cave where he curled up and hoped that the gigantic white dog with the red eyes would not find him.

Sesshoumaru smirked as he stood above the cave and then took off in a different direction since he knew the wolf would be dumb enough to come out of the cave it was just a matter of time and Sesshoumaru had lots of time to spare.

Koga sighed in relief as he slowly made his way out of the cave and proceeded to run in the opposite direction of where the big dog went. Of course Koga didn’t know that Sesshoumaru could fly in his dog form and as he ran he ended up running right into Sesshoumaru.

“Now little wolf, you die.”

Sesshoumaru stated as he changed back into his humanoid form and used his light whip to lop Koga’s head right off his shoulders.

The little demon wolf’s body changed back into its humanoid form and started looking around for his head.

Sesshoumaru pushed the body down to the ground and held it there until it no longer could move. He wanted to insure the wolf cub was truly dead before he would do anything more to Koga.

Koga’s head still looked around for his body as it tried to speak eventually as afternoon spread to evening Sesshoumaru sat upon the body of the wolf and watched Koga struggle to survive.

“You are only wasting time little wolf. It is time for you to die.”

Koga’s eyes eventually rolled up into his head and by the time the moon rose up into the sky the wolf took his final breath.

“There now, that is much better.”

Sesshoumaru stated as he moved Koga’s head back to his body and waited for the little demons that would try to take his soul. The emissaries of death were only visible to the one who held tensaiga and only if the sword wished to bring back that life.

Soon the little bastards were there and Sesshoumaru took out his tensaiga destroying them with a single thrust of his sword.

Koga’s body felt his head and attached itself back on as tendons, bones, and flesh reattached until Koga was alive lying in his own blood. He took in air almost hyperventilating until Sesshoumaru clocked him across the jaw.

“Get up. You are fine.”

Sesshoumaru stated rather perturbed that he now had another pack member to deal with. As soon as the blasted sword healed them, they all seemed to wish to follow him. It wasn’t like he could save them a second time and saving people was his least favorite thing to do. What was the point of being a feared demon Lord if all you could do with your Father’s fabled blade was heal people? It was a fucking joke and Sesshoumaru did not find it to be funny at all although he figured his Father would be laughing his ass off right now.

“You killed me………..”

Sesshoumaru looked at the shocked wolf with a bored expression on his face.

“Yes I am aware of this.”

Koga backed away from the demon whose powers now terrified him.

“You are not a demon………I don’t know what the fuck you are but stay away from me and my pack.”

Sesshoumaru smirked a bit.

“What do you think I am wolf? A god perhaps? I promise you I am not that forgiving and I do not have time to explain things to you. Just know that we are now even.”

Sesshoumaru started to walk away, but then Koga looked at him and around him.

“Do you think that sword can heal my armor?”

Sesshoumaru growled.

“It is not that kind of a sword wolf. Just be grateful it saved your life. It will not do so again so I suggest you remain alive unless you wish to really piss me off.”

Sesshoumaru was kind of bummed out since he had wanted the wolf to be able to fight him off. Fact was everything except Inuyasha would easily crumble at his feet.

“So are we even?”

Sesshoumaru frowned.

“No, you still owe me for bringing you back to life. You did not give Rin that choice when your wolves mauled her to death. It was I who gave her life again and the only reason you live is because I decided you may be useful to me.”

Koga didn’t like this one bit, but fact was he could not beat a demon who held the power of life or death itself.

“So I am basically your slave?”

Koga stated feeling rather put out. It was depressing since Koga was used to having power over most things in his life. How would his pack relate to him now that Sesshoumaru had come along to ruin his whole life? Koga knew he would seem weak to his pack and that his Alpha position would most likely be stripped from him.

“No, you are one of my subjects. However this is between you and me only so that you may keep your Alpha position. I do not have the desire to take over a pack of unruly wolves although I have always been and always will be Alpha over every demon in this world.’
“If I call you than you will come to me and there will be no questioning my rule over you. It is as simple as that.”

Koga walked with Sesshoumaru over to where his ruined armor and clothing were laying in ruins.

With a wave of Sesshoumaru’s hand the clothing pulled itself together and was whole once more.

“Get dressed wolf.”

Koga was annoyed at being called wolf rather than his name, but he wasn’t about to correct Lord Sesshoumaru over something so menial.

“Thanks.”

Koga stated as he put on his clothing and armor.

“Why were you heading towards the direction of my brother? Your duty had been fulfilled and yet you were headed back to a place that you are unwanted. Do you truly wish for Inuyasha to kill you?”

Koga scoffed at that.

“Mutt face, kill me? We have been scraping for years so if he and I really wanted to kill one another we would have already done so. The only reason I haven’t wiped the floor with him is because of his sword. Without it he would be easy to defeat.”

Sesshoumaru allowed himself to smirk a bit.

“You could not defeat Inuyasha even if he did not have his sword. Our Father’s blood runs through his veins and eventually it will take over him completely. There is a reason hanyous do not remain so after so many years. They eventually succumb to the powerful blood of their demons except for that one night a month that they become completely human and then if you were to fight Inuyasha I would kill you and never bring your corpse back to life since that would be the coward’s way to fight my brother.”

Koga snorted.

“I don’t kill humans anymore. It is a waste of time and now that we have not fed on human flesh and blood we have to fend for ourselves in these woods.”

Sesshoumaru started to walk away and Koga followed.

“Why are you following me wolf? Go back to your den.”

Koga frowned at that, but turned tail and headed back towards the den. Eventually he would find out what was going on between Inuyasha and Lord Sesshoumaru. For now though, the wolf wanted to keep his head since losing it twice on the same day would not be good.
