I wanted to disappear. Vanish into thin air. His stare was unnerving and anyone with eyes could see that he was not happy.
"Go upstairs, Kagome." Toga began, never taking his eyes away from his son. "I will have Sanna come and help you pack." I bowed to Toga and Izayoi before turning. I glanced up at Sesshoumaru, still feeling his hot stare as I passed him. I tried my best to calm my heart and tell myself that it would all be over soon. Very soon.
-----
Sesshoumaru waited until Kagome was gone before speaking. "I was not aware of Kagome's upcoming departure."
Izayoi got up and excused herself, leaving father and son to speak in peace. As soon as she was gone, Toga shook his head.
"Your time is up, son. You must let her go."
Sesshoumaru narrowed his eyes. "I do not have to do anything."
"You have made your decision, pup and I will not allow you to bring anymore harm to her!"
"I have done nothing wrong!"
"SILENCE!" Toga yelled, quieting everything in the room. "You have obviously chosen Lady Nozomi and I will not allow her to stay with you knowing you want only to bed her!"
"That is not true, father!" Sesshoumaru growled, his eyes narrowing.
Toga turned his eyes away from his irritating son as he began to rub his chin. Sesshoumaru noticed that his father seemed to be calmer. "It no longer matters. Kagome will be returning to the geisha house soon."
Geisha house?Definitely not. "I do not believe she should be sent back there."
Toga looked at his son from the corner of his eye, eyebrow raised. He inwardly smirked. "Oh? Why not?"
Because she will be keeping the company of other males other than myself and this Sesshoumaru does not trust them in the least. "Not the geisha house." Was Sesshoumaru's only reply as he left the room.
"Don't you bother Kagome either, pup!" Toga called after him. As Sesshoumaru made his way up the stairs, Toga rubbed his temples. Something told him that Sesshoumaru was not listening to him.
-----
Almost done. I thought to myself as I handed another kimono to Sanna.
"I will surely miss you Lady Kagome."
I turned my head and gave her a half-hearted smile. "I will miss you as well, Sanna." I could never get her to stop calling me Lady.
"If I may be so bold... I believe Lord Sesshoumaru will miss you most."
My hand stopped sorting through the kimonos in the armoire. I did not reply. We continued packing in silence until the door opened. I heard Sanna gasp.
"Lord Sesshoumaru!" I dropped the kimono I was holding as I looked behind me. I saw that Sanna was bowed low to the floor and his eyes were on me.
"Leave." he ordered Sanna.
What?! "Why does she have to leave?" I asked as I quickly picked up the kimono.
Sesshoumaru's eyes narrowed at me. "Leave." he said more firmly.
Sanna rose and glanced back at me apologetically before leaving. I was not angry with her. I knew she must listen to him. As the door closed from Sanna's departure, I turned my back to him. I could feel his eyes on me as I gathered up more kimonos.
"It's unnerving to have you stare at me so."
"You are not going back to that whore house."
My eyes widened, facing him, I threw the kimonos down on the bed. "It is not a whore house!"
I heard him scoff. "It might as well be."
I balled my hands into fists. How dare he? "Did you forget that I was raised at that so called 'whore house'?"
"I most certainly did not. But that is beside the point. You will not be returning."
"Why do you care?" I asked.
He turned his nose up at me. "I do not have to answer to you onna." I felt my blood boiling. Why was he here then?
"I thought I told you not to bother her, pup."
I thought I had saw Sesshoumaru stiffen for the slightest second before growling. I was glad Lord Toga had come.
"Sesshoumaru. Leave." Toga ordered.

Sesshoumaru did not like the fact that his father came and interfered yet again. He wanted to spend as much time as possible with Kagome before she left; even if his presence was angering her. He did not wish for her to leave, but he knew he had to let her go. His father ordered him to leave and he did not want to. He stared hard at Kagome before turning on his heel and leaving the room.

I let out a sigh as Sesshoumaru left the room. I really did not need a confrontation like that. I didn't want to act so cold towards him, acting as if I did not care, but if I allowed him to continue to talk to me, I would have probably changed my mind. That was another reason I was glad Lord Toga had come. My resolve might have been broken. I felt a hand on my shoulder and looked up to see him smiling at me.
"Now, why don't we finish getting you packed while that boy is out?" he suggested. I smiled half-heartedly and nodded. I knew that Toga did not wish for me to leave either, but understood my situation.
He helped ready me to leave, choosing to help me himself and not to call a maid back in. When we had finished, he sighed and looked to me. I once again began to feel guilty.
"I'm really so--" I began to be cut off by Toga hugging me.
"We are going to miss you so much, our dear Kagome." he whispered, holding me tightly. I quickly returned his hug.
I felt the burning behind my eyes and the stinging of my nose as I whispered, "I will miss you as well... father."
Toga's hold on me tightened more, but made sure not to hurt me. "As will I, my daughter."

I remembered that day and smiled as I wiped down the tables in the eating room. That was a month ago now. When I first arrived back to the geisha house, I was surprised to find out that Hasuma was no longer with them. I had asked Hana, but she was not able to tell me much and suggested that I ignore it. That was easy to do. Jositomo was still there, but she was more quiet and not as outspoken since Hasuma's leave. I was grateful. I sighed in content. It seemed more peaceful here than before.
I suddenly thought of the Western Palace. I wondered how Lord Toga and Lady Izayoi was doing. I hoped that Lady Izayoi wasn't too upset with me. And then I thought of Sesshoumaru. When I had come back from the palace, many of the girls at the geisha house whispered and gossiped of my return. I knew what they must have been thinking and though many were not nice comments, I chose to ignore them. More whispers and gossip floated around the geisha house when Prince Yukito came to visit a week ago. I had honestly forgotten about him until he suddenly showed up.. He took me out that night to talk and have dinner and though I enjoyed the time spent with him, my thoughts turned to the forbidden. I thought of him and it was hard for me to keep a smile on my face. I was not sure if he saw it waver or not, but I think he did, for he hadn't returned since that day.
A month had passed and I had gone back to being in the company of males patrons again. I enjoyed it a little more since Hana had become a geisha and I was no longer harassed by Hasuma or Jositomo. I was smiling and listening to the stories of a snake demon, Lord Akuto. He didn't talk at all at first, but when I had began to talk a little myself, asking him certain things about his lands or villages, he immediately launched himself into conversation.

Sesshoumaru tapped his claws on his desk as he thought. He was supposed to be seeing Nozomi, but he heard a servant speak Kagome's name and it triggered something inside him. He thought it was over, that it wouldn't effect him if her name had been spoken. He was wrong. But it had been a month since Kagome's departure. He should be over it by now. He could have gotten himself another geisha or concubine. It would not have been any different.
'You lie.'
Sesshoumaru growled. His beast has decided to be more talkative lately as well. Of course he did not like it in the first place when he went to visit Nozomi, but it had gotten worse when Kagome had left.
'She is gone. Leave it be.'
'Do you believe Prince Yukito will not see her now that you are gone?'
His hands clenched at the thought, 'He would not dare.'
'But you are no longer there.' His beast reminded. 'What if she chooses him as a mate?'
Sesshoumaru wanted to block it all out.
'Him touching what you had. What if she enjoyed his touch and company more than yourself? What if she forgets about you? What if she--'
"STOP!" Sesshoumaru snarled. His eyes had bled red, his claws digging into his skin, cutting it. He quickly got up and swiftly traveled downstairs, breezing past his father and Izayoi.

Inu Taisho watched his son leave, Izayoi watching with her eyes wide.
"Something seems to be bothering Sesshoumaru." Izayoi whispered.
Toga nodded.
"Where do you think he's going?"
Toga rubbed his chin, playing with the hair there. "I am not sure. But let's hope he won't make a fool out of himself again." He winked at his wife before looking out of the entrance doors.
'Good luck, son.'

Nozomi paced back and forth in her room impatiently. Sesshoumaru was supposed to be there over an hour ago and he has yet to show. He was still visiting like he used to, but he was not the same when he slept with her. She knew about the little human whore that stayed with him at the castle and though she did not like it, she allowed it for she knew when she became Sesshoumaru's mate, the bitch would no longer be there. Her father had told her that the human had already left sometime last month and though she was grateful, Sesshoumaru was no longer the same. When the door had opened, the familiar scent wafting into her nose, she crossed her arms.
"You're late. Again."
Nozomi did not like the way he seemed to ignore her as he closed the door. Her eyes narrowed into slits.
"Don't ignore me Sess-"
"Our mating is off."
She did not believe what she just heard. "What?"
"I am sure you heard correctly."
She growled. "Don't tell me you're still mourning the loss of your whore?"
Before she could dodge it, she was pressed against the wall behind her, her neck in Sesshoumaru's grasp. He growled. Lowering his face to hers, he snarled. "Do not ever call her that again!"
Nozomi clenched her fists, but nodded. He dropped her and took a step back. "I have already informed your father of my decision."
Nozomi's hands tightened even further. "What will you do now?" she asked.
Sesshoumaru's hand stopped on the door before turning his head halfway. "Get back what is mine."
