Someone new for Inu

He held her close, resting his chin on her head. His own tears fell onto her and ran down her back. She looked up at him and pulled his lips to hers.

“You have to tell Kagome about us Inuyasha,” she said later as they ran. “You can do it while I am gone back to my world.”

“I will,” he said, chuckling when she sucked on one of his ears.

They reached Kaede’s that afternoon and Sam was surprised to see Kagome. She slid from his back and they hugged close.

“I hope everything went well Sam,” she said as she handed the pack over.

“Yes it went well,” said Kag.

Sam watched her hug Inuyasha before going inside to change into her own time’s clothes. She knew it would be awhile before she and Inu could be together. He still had to destroy Naraku and Kag had to help him do it.

She walked back out to find him alone. He walked beside her as he took her to the well.

“Kag went back ahead of you. She wanted to make sure to pack everything again,” he said.

“Than your taking me?” she asked as he touched her face.

“Sam, your able to go on your own now. Kaede opened it with a spell,” he said.

“Than this is it than,” she said as he wiped away her unshed tears.

“I will come for you,” he said lifting her up. “I promise because I love you Sam.”

He kissed her one last time before she jumped into the well.


Several week’s passed as she waited for him to come. Summer turned to fall and Sam soon returned to college. She unlocked her door to her apartment and turned on the light’s. She waved to her roommate as she went to her room.

Life passed quickly as winter came and changed to spring. She had come to terms that he wasn’t coming and had kept away from the shrine. She had just walked into her apartment when the phone rang. She juggled the groceries and the phone in her arms.

“Hello?” she said. “Hi mom, what’s up? What? I’ll leave right now.”

She ran past her roomie as she and a friend came in and ran to her room. She threw some clothes in a pack, grabbed her keys and ran out.

She drove for hours in the rain before she came to the shrine. She sighed and took a breath before she started walking up the stair’s. Souta waved to her and she hugged him when they went inside.

“Oh dear,” she said hugging her.

“He went in his sleep thank Kami,” said Mrs Higurashi.

“Where’s Kag?” said Sam setting down her bag.

“She is back in the past again. She doesn’t know,” said her mom.

“I will go after the funeral,” said Sam.

Two days later they buried Kag’s grandfather next to the god tree. Sam removed her heels and slipped over the side of the well. On the other side she climbed up and walked barefoot to Kaede’s The old woman hugged her and took her inside.

“So they killed Naraku last fall?” she said as she sipped a cup of tea. “Where have they been since than?”

“Gathering the shards,” said Kaede. “I believe they are due back again tomorrow.”

“I will wait here than,” said Sam.

She changed into the miko outfit she brought and went to sleep. She was helping Kaede with her garden when the other’s arrived that afternoon. She lifted an eyebrow when Kagome frowned when she saw her.

“Why are you here?” said Kag walking over.

“Kag, something happened while you were here,” she said, her voice full of sorrow.

“What’s happened sis?” gasped Kag.

“Ji-chan, he passed away 4 days ago,” said Sam, her voice shaking.

“Oh kami,” gasped Kag, suddenly hugging her. “I need to go home.”

Sam watched Kag as she entered the hut before she turned to the other’s. Shippou immediately jumped into her arms and hugged her. She smiled softly and buried her nose in his fur.

“I missed you Sam,” he chuckled.

“Ya, I missed you too furball,” she said softly. “I missed all of you.”

Sango hugged her tightly before following after Kagome. Miroku hugged her before turning to pay attention to something else with Shippou. She turned to Inuyasha who stared at her nervously.

“I waited for you Inuyasha,” she said sadly. “You never came.”

“Sam, I,” he said but Kagome came out.

“Sam we had better go back. Mom is probably waiting,” said Kag taking her hand.

She nodded and allowed Kag to pull her away with her to the well. They heard Inuyasha calling Sam’s name and Kag sighed.

“Sam he told me everything,” said Kag. “I have to admit I am angry.”

“It just happened Kag. But it’s over,” said Sam, turning to put a hand on the well.

“What do you mean it’s over? Sam he hasn’t thought of anyone but you since than,” said Kag anxiously.

“Kag, he never came for me,” said Sam before jumping in the well.

Sam went to her room and changed before going down to cook the meal. She heard Kag in the frontroom with her mom and souta. She sighed as she looked out at the tree where Ji-chan was now resting.

“Oh Ji-chan,” she whispered, holding back a tear. “I should have come to visit you.”

She suddenly slipped to the floor sobbing, not only for her Ji-chan, but for her own loss. Her heart felt hollow now without them, and she couldn’t stop crying. Mrs Higurashi peeked in and hurried to her side and held her.

“Kag, you need to go get Inuyasha,” said Souta.

“She’s really hurting without him,” said Kag. “I guess she really loves him.”

“That’s why she stayed away from here for almost a year,” he said. “Because she figured he wasn’t coming for her and it was too painful to see him with you.”

Kagome cursed and took off toward’s the well. Sam whispered to her mother and she nodded. She watched as the girl she considered a daughter stood and walked to her room.

“I can’t bear to see one of my girl’s so sad,” she said to Souta.

“I know mom,” he answered helping her up.


Sam lay on her bed staring at the ceiling as more tears threatened to fall. She rolled to her side, holding the necklace as she allowed the tears to fall again. Inuyasha jumped from the well and his ears twitched when he heard Sam’s sobs. Kagome placed a hand on is arm and he turned.

“Go to her Inuyasha. She still loves you and needs you,” she said lifting the subjugation necklace from him.

He hugged her and tore off to the tree near Sam’s room. He entered her open window and found her huddled on her bed crying. His heart hurt at her sounds and he removed his fire rat robe and went to her. He sat on the bed and waited for her to make the first move.

“Inuyasha,” she gasped when she turned over. “Why didn’t you come? I thought you loved me?”

“I do Sam,” he said, the agony in his eyes. “But I couldn’t be with you until all the shards were found.”

Sam sat up and before he knew it she jumped into his startled arms. He fell back on the bed, clutching her to him, his nose buried in her hair. His hand rubbed her back as he held her, hoping this wasn’t just a dream.

“I’m sorry Sam,” he whispered over and over, his own tears falling silently. “Oh kami am I sorry.”

She sat back on her knees and wiped her tears away than his. He laid there looking at her waiting nervously, his hands itching to hold and touch her. She smiled brightly at him and sat forward to press her lips hungrily to his.

“Sam,” he growled as he felt her melt into his arms. “How I missed you.”

She pressed her hands to his chest where it was exposed. She smiled when she could feel he was even leaner and stronger than a year ago. She pressed a kiss to his chest and he grinned.

“I think we should go let the other’s know that I am ok now,” she said moving to stand up. “Than after dinner puppy, your mine.”

She heard him growl intimately before following her downstair’s. She smiled at Mrs Higurashi and the older woman sighed happily. Sam ruffled Souta’s hair and walked over to Kag.

“I was the one who kept him from coming Sam. I got jealous,” said Kag.

“And I am sorry too. I know there is someone out there for you,” said Sam hugging her.

“Sam, I think I have found him,” said Kag blushing.

“Who?” she said.

“The wolf demon you saw,” giggled Kag.

“You like Kouga?” said Inuyasha stepping up beside Sam.

“Yes I do Inu,” said Kag.

“Than go get him tiger,” giggled Sam. “And remember if he is the one, don’t ever let him get away.”

Kag hugged them both and they all sat down to eat the meal Sam had made. After dinner Kag said her goodbyes and jumped in the well. Sam smiled at Inuyasha before giggling and running to her room. He chased her in and closed the door behind them.

“Inu, how about a bath?” she said softly, beginning to remove her clothes.

She saw the desire in his eyes as he shed his own clothes. She giggled as he carried her to the tub and turned on the water. He climbed in first when it filled and she settled into his arms. She snuggled against him, letting the warm water and her emotions drift over her.

“Sam, I want you for my mate,” he said. “But we can wait until your ready.”

She turned to look at him and smiled seeing his restraint. She crawled forward until she was sitting forward in his lap. She felt his shaft against her thighs and giggled.

“Inu, I am ready now,” she said touching his cheek.

He let his head fall back as she leaned over to kiss him. Her black hair covered them like night as she possessed his mouth. His arms snuck around to pull her closer to him, her breasts mushed against his chest.
