Chapter 8: Her Sanity's Slipping Away (Part 2)







Kagome said nothing her eyes closing as for the first time in her life she felt true hatred for the kami's and their lack of understanding for the people and demons forced to endure as much pain as she had. Laying down she curled up and closed her eyes against everything and everyone. Midoriko sat at her side unsure as to what to do for the woman before her. Kagome returned to her past and relived some of her more cherished memories.



~Flashback~



Kagome stood off to the side watching her brother fight against one of the soldiers. Her heart was pounding as she watched their every move. Meticulously she picked out every error in their attacks no matter how slight or unnoticable to anyone else. She sighed in satisfation as Ton sent the soldier flying knocking him back several yards. The soldier lay unmoving not even a twitch was seen and after a few seconds she became concerned and rushed over to his side. He had his eyes screwed shut against the pain ravaging his body.



"Are you alright?"



He opened his eyes and her breath stopped for a moment as their eyes met and he tried to smile as if it was nothing but she could read him easily.



"I'll be fine."



His voice was deep and sensual with a touch of something she couldn't quite figure out at the moment. Her eyes scanned his body slowly and picked out the several dangerous injuries covering his body.



"Do not lie to me you have five broken ribs, a shattered knee cap, and have fractured both your hip on your right side and your femur in your left leg... I'm sorry Ton was so rough with you he should know better."



Her voice dropped to almost a whisper as she shook her head lightly.



"My names Lee by the way and he has every right to be pissed with me right now."



Kagome's eye widened and she looked at him closly.



"Why is my brother mad at you?"



Lee smiled despite the pain.



"I've decided to ask his sister to allow me to court her as I think I have fallen in love with her."



Kagome's eyes widened and she smiled happily.



"I would like that Lee."



~End Flashback~



Kagome whimpered but didn't open her eyes as another memory came flooding back to her.



~Flashback~



Kagome stood before Lee her arms wrapped around his waist as she rested her head on his chest, his arms around her as well. Lee pulled back making Kagome look up at him in question.



"Kagome I've been courting you for close to ten moon cycles now...will you be my mate and the mother of my pups?"



Kagome's smile outshined the moon and the stars as she gazed up at her love and nodded yes before he claimed her lips in a passionate kiss. Several more months passed during which they asked Inutaisho to have a hut built for them and thought of a way to inform Kagome's parents of their coming mating ceremony. Ton though angered at first smiled and hugged Kagome tightly when he saw just how happy she truly was telling her that he supported her decision. They were going to go tell Kagome's parents after the training session with the Eastern Lords army. But, that day Kagome and her parents lost Ton and it was pushed back while they grieved.



~End Flashback~



Kagome's eyes opened and she shifted sluggishly into the position her body was in outside her mind and began to rock back and forth. Her lips moved but no words spilled from them. Midoriko didn't know what to do with or for her anymore and brushed her hair back from her face noticing that the tears streaming from her eyes had never stopped falling.



"Kagome..."



Kagome didn't react at all as if she didn't see or hear her. Her lips started moving faster and faster until Midoriko couldn't make out what she was saying. Then she understood and the white void disappeared to be replaced with the spiritual palace of the Kami's who were all looking down at them in obvious shock.



"Midoriko, why have you brought her here?"



Midoriko for the first time since her death felt true fear coursing through her so that her voice shook uncontrollably.



"I d...didn't."



Kagome for the first time stood as if she was back to her normal self but when she lifted her face there was nothing there but hatred and pain. No longer could they look pass that and see happiness, love, or any other emotions, only her pain and anger.



"I think it's time I make you understand..."



"We understand completely you selfish girl what you want from us and we have decided that you don't deserve it. It is fated that you will die by the hand of the man you once loved and nothing and no one can change that."



Kagome's aura flared as her emotions took full control and she brought forth her true power.



"YOU THINK THAT YOU CAN CAUSE ME NOTHING BUT PAIN AND THEN NOT DO ANYTHING IN RETURN. I HAVE SERVED YOU FAITHFULLY SINCE I FOUND OUT THAT I WAS TO BE THE FATED GUARDIAN OF THE SHIKON. YOU WILL GIVE ME WHAT I'M ASKING FOR BECAUSE I DO DESERVE IT AND BECAUSE YOU OWE IT TO ME..."



Kagome paused and focused her eyes on the one who had spoken up. Though none of them said it or showed it they feared her power. She held powers far beyond some of them and they had not been the one's to give it to her and weren't sure they would be able to stop her if she chose to attack.



"Gave me my son back as he was before he died or lose me as guardian of the shikon, the chioce is yours and you have three days to decide."



Done giving them their altimatium she returned to her body and dropped her barrier. Standing she looked up and the look on her face made everyone back away from her. Her face held nothing but malicious intent. Walking passed them she walked out the door and waved her hand. Before her in nothing but a pair of jeans stood her love...her Lee.



"What do you want Kagome?"



Kagome said nothing simply walked forward and sealed her lips with his. When she pulled back his eyes were slightly widened. Kagome brushed her lips against his ear as she talked to him.



"Let me heal you Lee, let me give you back what you lost because of me, please."



Lee nodded faintly almost shifting away from her when she touched his scar softly. A bright light erupted from beneath her hand and when it died away before her was the face of the man she loved once again restored to the perfection it used to be. When Sango and Kikyo saw his face they both brushed scarlet at the dirty thoughts that went through their heads. Kagome grabbed his hand and gently pulled him away, they faded on the air as they walked. The entire time Kagome completely ignored Sesshomaru uncaring of the pained expression that only those who knew him would see.







A/N: The next chapter is going to be about the changes Kagome is going through mentally and whether or not Lee aka Laviatian will slowly start returning to the man or in this case youkai he used to be. Please don't be mad but I won't be updating until I feel I have enough reviews for this story. SORRY.
