Golden Eyes

Kouga was not too happy to be leaving with the troops. He wanted to stay with his mates, but this was part of his punishment for acting like a spoiled brat during Inuyasha’s coming out ball plus Sesshoumaru needed Kouga to start acting like a second in command. Sesshoumaru knew as a good leader you have to depend upon your people at times and not sit on top of them in order for them to mature. It was the same with mates and by doing so it lifted a large weight off of Sesshoumaru’s overwhelmed shoulders since as Alpha he had been responsible for so many things that should have been delegated to others since he trusted very few with the tasks he considered priority in order to run an Empire smoothly.

“Sess…….I know this is for my own good, but can’t you both come with me? It would be a good vacation for you both and……….”

Sesshoumaru cut Kouga off seeing that puppy dog look in those blue eyes. It was adorable, but that wasn’t going to make Sesshoumaru change his mind.

“Don’t try to talk your way out of this Kouga. I know what is best and as your Alpha this is an order as well as your punishment for your pathetic display in front of my nobles. If I were anyone else I would have been exiled from court for good after you both fell on top of our Grandmother while grappling in your finest attire.’
“You know better than to get Inuyasha riled up and with his condition he cannot see what is around him. His temper gets the best of him and his brain stops working. You tend to have this same problem when you are with him and yet you have the advantage of age to know better. You must curb your behavior Kouga and become the man I know you are rather than the child I see before me. I only mated one pup, not two.”

Kouga sighed bowing his head in defeat knowing Sesshoumaru was right as Sesshoumaru put his hand upon his beloved wolf’s shoulder and kissed his forehead softly.

“I love you and I will miss you both so much.”

Kouga stated in tears. Sesshoumaru held his mate and then gently let go to place a loving hand on his wolf’s cheek.

“I will miss you too my wolf and I love you too. Now make me proud and show us that you are still the leader I know you to be. Train my men well and remove those pesky threats to this land. You will indeed make a legend for yourself in this as once our little Inuyasha had done. Do not let his name and mine be the only ones that our people remember. You are a hero to your former pack of wolves, but who else knows of your great battles other than those you had fought alongside us? Do better in your endeavors in life and you will be richly rewarded therefore making this punishment a gift rather than a curse.”

Sesshoumaru stated firmly and then kissed Kouga turning to leave his mate with his thoughts. Sesshoumaru was never good at goodbyes and would weep when his beloved left. Inuyasha would of course fill that void, but Kouga had been Sesshoumaru’s mate longer making this time away harder upon the powerful diayouki.

Inuyasha came out after Sesshoumaru was done and Kouga held Inuyasha tightly.

“I can’t believe we have to be pulled apart Inuyasha. Please for the love of Kami do not get yourself hurt while I am away mutt face. Sesshoumaru is busy and as much as you hate listening to the Elders I am begging you to do so now.”

Inuyasha grunted out a ‘Keh’.

“Don’t worry about me wolf breath. I am probably going to be stuck to our Fluffy mate’s ass for the next few months learning boring Prince shit. I am going to be turned into a fucking snob and it is going to suck.”

Kouga bust up laughing. Of course Inuyasha would be blunt as hell and had to be funny making Kouga hate leaving even more. Inuyasha wasn’t just his mate; he was his best friend and the one person that could keep him from going nuts since he too didn’t care for the snobby silk filled ‘Princely’ life that Sesshoumaru seemed to enjoy so much. They both would prefer a muddy old cave or the forest of trees.

“Don’t worry, my battles are mainly going to be fought by other people then me and supervising is going to be hard when I want to get my claws wet ripping out someone’s guts so this will be hard for me too. You just do what you have to do Inuyasha and know I will be adding your name to a few of my kills since without you I doubt I would have survived during Naraku’s reign. You are my inspiration since Sess has enough of an ego without me building onto it.”

Inuyasha and Kouga sighed looking out towards the castle hating goodbyes as much as Sesshoumaru. Bullshitting about their snobby mate really wasn’t helping.

“You are preaching to the choir man. I live that life and have had to put up with him for years reminding me of how pristine he is and perfect and shit. It sucks, but I wouldn’t change him for the world.”

Kouga pulled Inuyasha into a passionate kiss grasping his little mate in his arms trying not to burst into tears.

“I am going to fucking die without you……I hate leaving you Inuyasha. I really hate it.”

Inuyasha ignored the pain in his gut trying to be strong.

“I ain’t going nowhere Kouga. Geeze, no need to be dramatic.”

Inuyasha stated trying to sound tough, but his voice cracked a bit. His best buddy and fellow trouble maker was going away. He wouldn’t come back the same either and both knew that they would probably change a whole hell of a lot when their training was done.

“Don’t be such a jerk.”

Kouga stated softly as he kissed Inuyasha then ran before he fell apart. He had to get going or he would never get through this.

Inuyasha stood as Sesshoumaru came out smirking a bit at his young mate.

“A fluffy jerk am I? A snob who is going to turn you into one? I swear to you Inuyasha when we are done I will not be the only one who will carry such a burden of insults. You will appreciate the things you will learn and it will not all be boring.’
“I have plans for you. We will be learning how to train you as a human to fight both bare handed and with weapons. I want you to be able to defend yourself even during your most vulnerable times so you may indeed thank me for my generosity now.”

Inuyasha snorted.

“Ya, more training sounds like fun……not. Thanks a lot ya jerk.”

Sesshoumaru laughed and then grasped his mate’s hand kissing it then walking the courtyard with his mate he explained the plans.

“It will be and I promise not to turn you into a snob. I do not expect all of your crude behavior to change. I just need you to be civil around certain company like the elders in our family. I can forgive your tackling Grandmother on accident, however when I introduced you to Great Grandfather Hiroshima you should have curbed your tongue.’
“I take many things with a grain of salt my little troublemaking mate and you need to watch your temper. One day if you do not it will cost you more than a little humiliation. Spanking you in front of family as well as the whole court was not my plan. It embarrassed me as much as it did you, but I would not allow another to take my responsibility no matter how much Great Grandfather wanted to take a switch to you. I have suffered such and it is not pleasant in the slightest.”

Inuyasha snorted again.

“Keh, whatever…..like your hand ain’t painful.”

Sesshoumaru smiled and shrugged.

“I needed to get the right effect concerning your punishment in order to save you from worse. Normally I would find your antics amusing and allow them, but in such noble company you had to be put in your place. You are still a pup to many and as much as you have grown you will still be an unruly pup to those of us who are hundreds of years older than you my love.”

Inuyasha sighed as he could smell every damn thing, but couldn’t see jack shit. Sesshoumaru and Kouga had no idea how frustrating it was to walk around these gardens and courtyards not being able to see any damn thing although it was much better than being inside the stuffy old castle.

“Sesshoumaru tell me what you are looking at so I can remember.”

Sesshoumaru smiled softly with a slight look of pity in his eyes. He hated that Inuyasha couldn’t see what he could and knew even after 30 years of living in the castle Inuyasha was still very envious of what others could do, but tried so hard to be strong desiring to get over his long depression so that he could truly live a full life again.

“Inuyasha I see your forests full of green trees since it is springtime. They are surrounding the Tree of Life which now has a temple that I had built under your Kagome’s name. The Higurashi shrine is maintained by your monk friend Miroku. It is exactly as you explained to me from your future visits with your young female.’
“The sky is clear with the sun shining brightly making your silver hair glow like pure silk shaming your silky golden robes that are dull in comparison.’
“Your eyes themselves are as golden as my own and they have dulled a bit today although they outshine the sunlight. Are you still so sad my mate? Do my descriptions just make things worse? Just tell me to stop and I will do so.”

Sesshoumaru stated in concern. Inuyasha leaned into Sesshoumaru for comfort.

“Perhaps it is a bit much to hear right now when you know this is my favorite time of year. Thank you though for humoring me.”

Inuyasha stated with a sad smile.

“Inuyasha, sometimes the smells, touching our environment, and hearing the things that surround us are much more pleasant for us both. You know I find the scents and the sounds much more pleasant at times then the sights themselves. I also have to admit touching things such as you my beloved fill my life with joy.”

Sesshoumaru pulled Inuyasha into a gentle kiss and ran his fingers through that long silver mane.

“I adore you little mate. You are so damn beautiful. Did you ever know how beautiful you were? I swear for every time I forgot to tell you such things and stated such cold words I will make up for it all tenfold my very beautiful Inuyasha.”

Inuyasha blushed and looked away. He was not used to all these compliments and had a hard time believing it if it were not for the fact Sesshoumaru did not lie. It was impossible for Sesshoumaru to flat out lie about things that mattered to him since it was completely against his nature.

“Thanks…….. You are beautiful too. You make me ill with it sometimes since you make the rest of us look like dog turds.”

Sesshoumaru laughed at that comment.

“Well, we are of our Great and Powerful as well as beautiful Father. I never told you this, but I was always envious of our Father’s beauty not just his power. He told me I was much more attractive and almost too feminine for a son of Inu No Tashio. I thought he was picking on me, but he was not. It was very hard to know when Father was serious since he had a very strange sense of humor.’
“I highly doubt Father could have had ugly children even if per chance he had more hanyous with Izayoi since my Mother did not wish for more pups. Father had excellent taste in women and your Mother was no exception.’
“My anger towards your Mother, Izayoi, may not have ever seemed justified to you. I did love your Mother once, but her kind had destroyed much of my trust and at one point I had given her a great secret in which she broke causing me to never trust her again. You my dearest always believed I hated you for your birth, but fact was she lied to me about being pregnant with Father’s child.”

Inuyasha frowned since he never knew that.

“Why would she lie?”

Sesshoumaru shrugged since he didn’t know either. It wasn’t like this was an event that never occurred. Several lesser diayouki and even a few much more powerful ones had hanyou bastards since the earth women were tempting. It was not really just the half breed issue that had been a problem. It was the lie behind it all.

“There was still a lot of prejudices and there had been an affair with another of her kind. Takemaru of Setsuna whom I am grateful was a liar who claimed he was Izayoi’s lover. He and Izayoi had a supposed affair before Father mated her. That was a lie. He would have never been able to mate a noble woman of Izayoi’s status.’
“I believed and Father believed you to be that foolish human’s child until we detected the scent. There was one other who could have been your Father and this started a war within our family. You see I took her as a concubine only once and made the sorry mistake of introducing what I considered to be my beautiful little Izayoi to Father and Mother. Mother wanted her and so did Father so being a pup of the Great Inu King I was unable to claim her as my own. At the time all of this occurred your Mother was still my lover until our Father and my Mother took her from me.’
“I could never call Izayoi Mother after our affair. It would have been too strange and Father had a fight with me pulling us apart because of the fact you should have been my son not his. I am of course glad that you are not since I love being your mate, but I still have some resentment over the whole incident. It made me so bitter that I took much out on you. I am sorry for that Inuyasha.”

Inuyasha was horrified to say the least.

“Oh Kami, please shut it Sesshoumaru. I feel ill. My brother as my Father and you like did THAT with my Mother? Are you trying to scar me for life? Is this some bad warped sadistic joke?”

Sesshoumaru laughed at the innocence of Inuyasha. He really had no clue on Inu nature or his demon’s natural instincts living too long amongst humans.

“My sweet Inuyasha, I would not tell you this as a joke. You should know the truth. You deserve to know it.’
“For too many years I had denied you the truth of my anger and you never deserved my wrath over something you had no part in other than being born. I was a fool to accuse you.”

Inuyasha was thinking the truth at this point was for the birds. Sesshoumaru and his Mom together? Like totally ewe gross.

“I am beginning to see that sometimes the truth is for the insane and sometimes being ignorant is indeed bliss.”

Sesshoumaru laughed again.

“Oh Inuyasha, do not be so naïve little one. I am 500 years older than you and in many ways an old man to your youth. Our past intertwines in strange ways because of the fact that your dear Mother and I were similar in age in a mental sense so it was completely natural for me to take her as a concubine. I cannot scar you for that past is something I will not change nor can I. However, I can change in regards to caring for you and being honest with you about things that had confused you at one time.’
“You wanted to know why I held such anger towards you. It was not towards you, it was towards a situation that was not in your control or mine.’
“I was the one who picked your name. Father gave me that concession just in case you were my child. If we could not be mates now I would have been honored to be your Father.’
“I guess what I am trying to say Inuyasha is that I am glad that you are a part of my life and I love you no matter what. I will not ever hurt you like I had in the past over things you cannot control. That is a promise and I do not break my promises.”

Inuyasha grunted and tried hard not to visualize any of this. Maybe he would forget the whole damn story.

It was great that Sesshoumaru wanted to be upfront with him after all these years. Inuyasha loved that Sesshoumaru was opening up a lot more to him now, but this just kind of made things strange. Not that he would wish to unmate Sess. Hell, the guy made him feel like no one else could and there was the fact he still wanted a good life for Kagome until they could mate. As Sesshoumaru’s mate, Inuyasha had the power to insure Kagome was well provided for and there were perks like being able to molest his beautiful big brother who wouldn’t let him ever touch him before. It was like an addiction and Inuyasha knew even with this news he wouldn’t be able to resist his mate. Inuyasha loved him too much and lusted after Sess all the damn time. It was a curse like Miroku’s wandering hand.

“Sess, let’s not talk about this past crap anymore. You are freaking me out. I would rather…….”

Sesshoumaru felt a clawed hand on his ass as Inuyasha smirked squeezing a bit.

“Hn……….indeed. You are insatiable my beloved. Are you saying you wish to trade places tonight?”

Inuyasha ran his claws in between those cheeks.

“Of course……..but now you are going to have to distract me from all those horrible visuals otherwise I might end up with a broken dick tonight.”

Sesshoumaru chuckled at his silly mate tweaking Inuyasha’s nose then kissing his forehead.

“I don’t think that part is allowed to break.”

Inuyasha smiled and pulled Sesshoumaru’s hair down so he could kiss his gorgeous brother. The one thing about Sesshoumaru’s aura was that it was almost as beautiful as he was so even if he couldn’t see that stoic handsome face he could at least enjoy the idea of kissing an Angel since his aura looked like a perfect silvery Angel.
