Chapter 8

A few days after Saskai and Horai made up, Saskai had asked his father if he could take Horai hunting with him. Sesshomaru had a greed knowing that his eldest son was cable at looking after himself that he could look after Horai as well.

“Now be careful the both of you” Rin told her two sons “don’t worry mother will be fine” Horai told her. They said their goodbyes and Saskai and Horai were of, Sesshomaru had watched them leave from his window in his study. He then remembered what he had told his son before they had left.

Flashback

“Now Saskai I am trusting you to take care of your brother” Sesshomaru told his eldest son. “Don’t worry father I will” Saskai replied, he was about to leave when Sesshomaru said something. “Saskai when you come back I want to have a talk with you” he told his son, “ok bye father” and Saskai walked of.

End of flashback

Saskai and Horai walked into the forest and leaving their home behind for only two days. “Say Saskai what are we hunting for exactly” Horai asked him. “Deer” he told his younger brother “deer are they hard to catch” Horai asked “not for us their not” Saskai replied. They had both been walking for at least two hours and their was still no sign of any deer. They couldn’t even smell any around the area.

Saskai the stopped in his tracks “brother what’s wrong” Horai asked him “sshh” Saskai could sense something bad. “Saskai what’s the matter” Horai walked up to him “Horai just be quiet” Saskai told him. “Huh” Saskai quickly grabbed his brother before an arrow had hit him. Someone had just fired an arrow at them. “Where is it coming from” Saskai asked himself, he still had a hold on his brother. “Saskai what’s going on” but before Saskai could say anything two more arrows fired at them. Saskai was easily able to dodge them why still holding onto Horai.

Then suddenly a whole lot of arrows came flying towards them, Saskai dodged a few but one got him in the shoulder. “Big brother” Horai was worried when he saw the arrow in Saskai’s shoulder. Before Saskai had realised another one got him in his right leg from behind. He dropped to the ground their was something on the arrows which was making his limbs go numb.

The one in his shoulder had made his whole arm numb and it happed with his right leg. “Horai you have to get out of here” he told his brother. “No Saskai I wont leave you” Horai said “I SAID GO” and he pushed Horai away. “Get father tell him what happened he will no what to do” Saskai told him. Horai took one step back but he didn’t want to leave his brother behind “GO” Saskai yelled at him. Horai ran heading back to the castle crying ‘I’m sorry’ and he kept running.

‘Be careful’ Saskai said in his mind, he then saw six humans jump down from the trees, they where bounty hunters. “Hey boss should we get the kid” one of them said “nuh leave him we have who we want” their leader said. He had shoulder length brown hair and a scare on his left cheek. He walked up to Saskai and bent down so he was eye level “who would have thought we could have gotten the little prince of Sesshomaru so easily” he said. Saskai gave him an angry look “what the hell do you want” Saskai asked. “What do I want lets just say I want your father’s sword the tokijin” he told Saskai.

“My father would never give his sword to the likes of you” Saskai said with anger in his voice. “Oh I think otherwise dear prince because you see if he doesn’t give me the sword then he will have a dead son in return” he told Saskai putting a knife up to his neck. “I am sure Sesshomaru wouldn’t want to lose his heir” the bandit said. “Sorry to disappoint you but I’m not really considered as his heir” Saskai told him. “Oh that’s right that’s because your mothers a human no wonder your father wont make you his heir because you are part human yourself my that must feel awful” he told Saskai.

“I don’t want your pity you bastard” Saskai then got a slap across his face for saying that. “You better watch your mouth you filthy half-breed”. The human got up and turned around about to give his orders. When Saskai took out his sword with his other arm and forced himself up and before the hunter could turn around Saskai cut his arm of. “AAAHHHH” he screamed, Saskai jumped into a tree. “GET HIM” he yelled, all the other bandits started firing arrows at Saskai.

The arrows where flying towards him, he jumped into another tree and then another until he was out of sight from the bandits. When Saskai could tell his was far enough for them not to be able to catch up he jumped to the ground. Instead of having a proper landing his numb leg gave way and he ended up rolling down a small hill. He had hit some rocks and was rolling rather fast until he got to the bottom and stopped.

“Shit” he tried to sit up the arrow in his leg had snapped in half but the arrow in his shoulder was still in tack. He used his other arm which wasn’t numb and grabbed on to this arrow in his leg and quickly pulled it out. Saskai gritted his teeth trying not to yell from the extreme pain he was feeling. He threw the arrow away and did the same with the arrow in his shoulder and tossed that aside. Parts of his clothes where all ripped and their where cuts on his legs and arms it was good that their weren’t any minor ones.

“Geese this isn’t my day and what will father think knowing his son was nearly beaten by some low life humans” he said to himself. “Well sitting here wont get me any where” he tried to stand up but it was hopeless his leg was still numb. He then heard a rustling coming from a bush near him. He grabbed his sword “whose their” a small child walked out “a girl” he said. She was just standing their, she had never seen a demon this close up before. She had long black hair and blue crystal eyes. To Saskai she looked around five but her scent didn’t smell like a human instead it smelt like she was half demon.

“Say kid are you a half-breed” Saskai asked her, she just nodded ‘so I was right’ he thought to himself. She was wearing a raggedy kimono so she looked like an orphan. Though she was a half-breed and that it wasn’t the moon for when all half-breeds would turn into their human form. She just looked like an ordinary human but she deffiently had some demon blood in her that was for sure.

“Do you have a name” Saskai wasn’t sure why he was asking this girl questions. “Tisa” she said in a low voice but Saskai was able to hear her.

Meanwhile Horai had finally arrived back in the castle, he ran straight inside to find his father. He could smell his father’s scent coming from the lounge room, he pushed the doors open. Sesshomaru looked up from what he was doing and saw his youngest son panting in the door way. “Horai what are you doing here” he asked him “father you must come quick bandits they attacked us and now Saskai is in danger” he quickly told Sesshomaru.

Sesshomaru ran straight out of the room, Horai was about to follow him but he was told to stay. Sesshomaru ran through the forest trying to smell his sons scent he had soon come up to the area where his sons where attacked. He could deffiently tell that his son was here and their where also humans. Though their was no sign of Saskai anywhere, he could tell that his son had escaped.

Sesshomaru then caught Saskai’s scent coming from a tree he jumped up and his sons scent was carried through many other trees. ‘So he must have jumped from tree to tree to get away’ Sesshomaru thought. He followed Saskai’s scent from each tree knowing that this could possibly lead him to where his son was.

Back where Saskai was the small girl still hadn’t left him “why are you still here” he asked. She just stood their not even moving just looking at him. Saskai was getting rather frustrating with this kid looking at him. Then suddenly a demon came out from the bushes and was about to pounce on the girl. When Saskai jumped up and grabbed the girl before the demon could attack her.

Saskai could feel the numbness disappearing from his leg but it not from his arm. All though he was still having a little trouble trying to stand up. “Give me the girl” the demon said in a husky kind of voice. “Sorry but it seems that girls are of the menu today” Saskai said bringing his sword out. “Ha ha ha ha you don’t understand I’m hungry” the demon ran towards them. Saskai just stood their waiting for the best opportunity to strike. The demon was about to strike Saskai with his claws but Saskai ducked and stabbed the demon right in the heart. He then yanked his sword out and the demon fell to the ground dead.

“Saskai” he heard his name being called he looked up and he saw his father. “Father” Sesshomaru walked over to him. It had seemed that Sesshomaru had seen the whole ordeal between his son and the demon. Saskai looked up at his father when he felt a hard slap across his face. Sesshomaru had just slapped him and had a very angry look on his face. Saskai didn’t move his face forward but just kept it to the side.

“I’m sorry father” was all Saskai said “were going home” Sesshomaru wasn’t in the mood for scolding his son. Of course on the outside Sesshomaru didn’t seem worried about his son but on the inside he was.

Saskai looked at his father when he then felt a small tug on his sleeve. He looked down and the small girl was still their. “What is it” he asked her “thankyou” she said, Sesshomaru turned around realising his son wasn’t following. He saw a small girl clinging on to his eldest sons sleeve. “Whose the girl” Sesshomaru asked him, “she said her names Tisa she happens to be a half-breed and an orphan” Saskai told him.

Sesshomaru saw that the girl seemed quite fond of his son because she wasn’t letting go. She reminded him of how Rin use to be like that to him. “You said she’s an orphan” Sesshomaru asked Saskai “yeah what about it” Saskai worried on where this was going. “Bring her with us” was all Sesshomaru said. “What but father why the hell would you want to bring this girl with us” Saskai asked. “It seems that she has taking a liking to you” and Sesshomaru then started to walk of.

Saskai looked down at the girl who was smiling up at him. “Man why me” he started to follow his father why the girl was still holding his sleeve.
