To Confess and say fare well
A/N: Wow I’m so excited I got reviews! *does review dance* As for the bribe YUM! I thank you with this chapter. Also I do have the tendency to let my characters take over the story, but thanks for the smack, I’ll tone em out a little more and bring forth the original ones. Well all enjoy!
Sesshomaru stared at the two asleep on the bed. Looking like a cuddly family scene he couldn’t help but interrupt.
“Are you two done snuggling?” Sesshomaru asked as he leaned against the door. InuYasha sat up on the bed and glared at him.
“Bastard, you going to tell me why you locked me up?” InuYasha sneered., as Taijina rolled over in the bed, letting out a small groan.
“No,” Sesshomaru replied, watching his brother’s eyes light up with fire.
“You smug bastard,” InuYasha growled as he stood up from the bed. “I deserve some answers after yesterday and you are going to give them to me.”
“As Alpha I can do as I please,” Sesshomaru told him, his voice as cold as ice. InuYasha gave off a visible shiver as his cold words hit him. Looking over toward Taijina briefly, Sesshomaru noticed her barely moving. “Go down to the dinning hall and eat. Then take a shower you reek.”
“HEY!” InuYasha roared as he looked at his brother in shock. “I do not smell!”
“Then why does my nose burn every time you are near, little brother,” Sesshomaru smirked as InuYasha left the room grumbling all the way down the hall. Shutting the door he walked over to Taijina. “Get up.”
“No thanks,” she grumbled into the pillow. Pulling back the blanket, and removing her bandages on her back he noticed her wounds had not healed at all. In fact the claw marks started to turn a dark purple color around the edges.
“Taijina, you’ve been poison,” Sesshomaru told her as he ran a claw finger down her back. Not moving a muscle as the claw went along her back, her shallow breathing informed him she was asleep again. “You still have a low tolerance to poison.”
Sighing he knelt besides the bed and started to lick the wounds. His tongue held an antidote to his poison, but it wouldn’t help much if the poison had enter her organs. After he finished cleaning her wounds he shook her to try and wake her. Knowing he needed to get her blood flowing if the antidote was to heal the poison already in her system.
“Wake up,” he ordered as he stood up. A muffled whinnying could be heard as she buried her head further under the pillows. “I guess we shall do this the hard way.”
Reaching under her, he grabbed her naked breast and squeezed. A few moments later she let out a loud yelp and flew to the other side of the bed. Falling off the bed and landing with a loud thud on her butt, she grabbed the covers to cover herself, and glared across the bed.
“How dare you touch me in that fowl manner,” she hissed, still glaring at the demon lord across the bed.
“It was the only way to wake you,” he replied coldly, as he walked around the bed looking down at her with his own glare. “As your Alpha I can do as I please.”
“Touch me like that again and I’ll kill you,” Taijina growled as she stood, making sure she was completely covered.
“You try my patience,” he growled at her, then turned to leave. “Get dressed, and I expect you downstairs as soon as you complete your task. You do not want me entering this room again today.”
“Yes master,” she hissed as he disappeared out the door, slamming it shut. “Bastard.”
Complaining as she put her kimono on Taijina found herself still exhausted. Closing her eyes for a moment as she sat back on the bed she drifted back asleep. Meanwhile, Sesshomaru found his half brother stuffing his face in the dinning area.
“Your eating habits lack social grace,” Sesshomaru stated as he sat down on the pillow across from his brother at the table.
“So?” InuYasha grunted his mouth still full of noodles. Shaking his head, Sesshomaru ignored his brother’s bad habits for now. Setting the empty bowl down, InuYasha look towards his brother, his face said he was serious. “Why did you mark me?”
“Because it was time for me to take back control of father’s pack,” Sesshomaru replied, taking a sip of the tea that was placed before him by a servant girl. “Since father has died I let the pack slowly drift apart and now I’m putting it back together. Making it stronger then it was before.”
“I’m sure Taijina had nothing to do with influencing your decision,” InuYasha smirked as he picked up the fresh bowl of noodles in front of him. It may not be Kagome’s Ramen but it would have to do until he could get her back.
“She had very little to do with it,” he sneered, slamming his cup down. “The bitch betrayed the pack and me. I should let the poison in her system kill her.”
“What?!” InuYasha gasped, his ears planted down on his head, and his jaw hanging down. “You poisoned her?”
“Unintentionally,” Sesshomaru told him, regaining his composure. “Now then, what are you going to do now? Will you wait for the girl?”
“I would wait till the end of time to be with her,” InuYasha replied, as he set the bowl down. “She will be my mate, and I don’t care if I have to wait five hundred years or five thousand.”
“Hmm, so the human is that important to you,” Sesshomaru stated, lost in his thoughts.
“Yes,” came the strong replied, leaving no doubt in either brother’s mind that InuYasha would settle for no other female. Standing Sesshomaru headed out towards the gardens. Blinking as he watched his brother leave the room, InuYasha soon followed. Catching up to him, the brothers walked in silence through the castle’s grounds. “What did she do?”
“I assume you speak of Taijina,” Sesshomaru replied, breaking the silent thinking he came out here for. “She left me a few years after you were pinned to the tree. Blaming me for your plight because I did not stop the relationship between you and the Miko. You do realize she was groomed as a pup to be my mate. Hand chosen by father, she was groomed to be the Lady of the West. The Alpha Bitch. Then you were born and father died. She protected you when I would have let you die.”
“There is more isn’t there,” InuYasha stated a few moments after Sesshomaru grew quiet. Stopping his progression through the garden, Sesshomaru stared up at the sun. InuYasha watched his brother, waiting for him to continue.
“She told me where I was to find father’s sword you now possess,” he replied, still staring at the sky. “Not just that, she told me I would never be allowed to wield it because father had intended it to you. That as brothers he made it impossible for us to kill each other. Father entrusted her with these secrets. Secrets she kept until I came to her to become my mate officially. Enraged by her confession I attacked her, and she ran away from me and the pack. Her return shocks and intrigues me.”
“What will you do now?” InuYasha asked. Sesshomaru looked towards his brother, then turned and started to walk away. “Oi, bastard.” He turned to stare at InuYasha. “We aren’t that different you know. You waited your intended’s return, just like I will.”
“I may have killed her,” was his reply as he started to walk away again. “She is nothing to me anymore.”
Miroku stared down at the ruined well, Sango at his side. They shared a moment of silence for their friend and their now broken family. Tears were silently falling down Sango’s cheeks as she knew she would never see her friends again. Putting an arm around her shoulder, Miroku pulled her into his embrace and let her cry on his chest.
“What shall we do about InuYasha?” he asked quietly.
“We should make sure he is safe,” Sango hiccupped into his chest. “Then we will start our family as we no longer have the jewel to protect. Kagome would have wanted it that way.”
“You are very strong Sango,” Miroku replied as he rubbed her back. “Come let’s return to the village and see to our guest. There is nothing left here for us anymore.”
“Right,” Sango sniffed as she stared up into his eyes. Leading her away from the ruined well, she gave the well one last look. A vision of Kagome appeared to float above the well. The vision smiled and waved goodbye before vanishing, giving Sango the hope Kagome was alive and fine in her own time.
