Hard chapter, it would not work and I still don’t know if it flowed that well together.

Chapter 7 – Showdown Sesshomaru VS. Two Half Demons!

Kagome blinked up at the sword she held while a tiny smile barley noticeable was on my face as I watched with satisfaction at the sword of destruction. Then she lifted the sword a bit higher her mouth hanging open as she stared at the (As Inuyasha called it) piece of junk in her hands. I then turned to look at the others and saw Jaken standing there looking dumbfounded as he breathed really quickly.

“Don’t look at them! Look at me, huh?” I turned to see Sesshomaru had moved from Inuyasha and disappeared more like, Inuyasha had a surprised look on his face as he searched when Sesshomaru appeared in front of Kagome and I. I took a step back unnerved by his closeness as I grabbed on to Kagome’s sleeve both our eyes wide.

“What are you and how did you draw the sword?” I swallowed as I stepped back again coming right beside Kagome as I watched him nervously, while Kagome was shaking ever so slightly beside me. “Leave them alone they are not involved in this!” I blinked shocked at this “Inuyasha!” Kagome was as well as she said his name not happily.

“One step closer and I’ll cut you” I snorted at this knowing she did not know how to use the sword and I was still learning. “For some unknown reason I was unable to draw Tetsusaiga, fortunately you were unable to draw it either, its obvious that she must die” I blinked at this ‘Who has to die me or her? You’re confusing me here’ I gave a narrowed look at Sesshomaru not letting my thoughts be shown on my face.

“You’re right it is weird that she could do it and we couldn’t! But she’s still just a human girl! Kagome give him the sword! There’s no choice!” I blinked at this as Kagome stiffened beside me. “Give him the sword are you bloody mental!” Inuyasha looked at me with frustration in his gaze. “Give him the sword!” I felt Kagome move beside me and glanced to see she and raised the sword up a little “No way, why does he automatically get to keep it? He could not pull it out means he is not meant to have it! He’ll have to come and take it!” I nodded my head “I’m going with Kagome anyhow he cannot touch the sword due to being a full demon.”

“Would you shut it? Kagome you’re only a human so you should back off, butt out and shut up before you get in to some serious trouble, you as well Shade! Leave off.” My eyes had narrowed in a glare and Kagome was huffing and puffing in anger. “Butt out, what do you know!” Kagome then swung the sword forward and with wide eyes I dodged out the way unknowingly coming beside Sesshomaru. “You’re just a…!” Then we both heard Sesshomaru chuckle as he listened, I then moved away from him as I swallowed at being so close “Inuyasha, your patience with these creatures is astonishing to me!”

My eyes narrowed at this ‘creature am I? Worst nightmare more like’ “You protect them, indulge them, even seem to love them.” I blinked at this ‘Love me? More like love Kagome’ Inuyasha did not deny it he just stood there looking angrily at his older brother. “Certainly these feelings of mercy of yours are not something I inherited from my great and terrible father.” I watched speechless along with Kagome as we all watched Sesshomaru as he looked to the side. “It must have been that mother of yours, that human mother who caused our father to meet his end in this ennoble place.”

I blinked at his words as I shook slightly at his words that were affecting me even if they were not directed at me. “Her blood affects you as well, is it that which so endures you to them? When it comes to humans I of course bare no such weakness.” Then he turned around his hand open as I jumped out the way of his poison attack. I then landed at the side as I held my left arm that had been hit by the poison as I gritted my teeth with the pain of melted skin and muscle.

I then heard Kagome and turned around my expression morphing in to horror as I watched her get covered in the poison. “Kagome!” We both called out to her our expressions horrified. “So fragile don’t you agree little brother.” I stood there my eyes shocked, as I saw someone who had become like a sister to me in such a short time was destroyed and even though I knew she was alive from the episodes I had watched seeing it in front of me made me forget as a tear welled up in my eye and trickled down the right side of my cheek. “Sessohmaru!” I rushed at him in a blind fury “I’ll kill you!” He turned to me even as Inuyasha called for me to stop.

“And not just humans, hanyou’s too.” Then with a swing of his hand he cut though my side and sent me flying in to the wall. I cried out as he sliced through my side and gave a yelp as I hit the wall and slid down to rest quite near to where Kagome was under the poison. I had my eyes clenched shut as I had to stay awake as I tried to stem the blood from leaving my body. Then I heard Inuyasha cry out and I opened my eyes to see him trapped in the strange fluffy thing Sesshomaru always carried with him (I think it’s his tail someone tell me?)

“How can you think with your dirty blood that you are my equal?” Then I came flying at him after gaining the strength and he let go of Inuyasha as he parried my attacks. “You think to attack me?” I snarled at him as I swiped at him again my anger getting the better of me before he used his whip and I went flying right next to Inuyasha and collapsing on the floor of skulls my body screaming at me for the abuse I was putting it through.

Then Inuyasha got in front of me as I raised my head and watched horrified as he took hit after hit off his brothers whip. “You both forget your station.” I then gasped “Inuyasha lookout!” and tried to push him out the way “Worthless hanyou!” we both cried out as we were flung in to the bone wall again. We both got up on to our hands and knees “Hanyou am I?” Then he had to defend again as he protected us both with his Kimono as he pulled me closer so not stray hits would get me.

Then the attacks had stopped and I looked up at Sesshomaru who again had no expression on his face. I then got up and leaned against the wall my ears against my head as I looked at the place where Kagome had been before Sesshomaru had killed her. “Hanyou or Youkai.” I looked back at Inuyasha’s determined face “to me it don’t matter, but when you insult my mother that’s when I get angry.” I watched him as he looked at Sesshomaru out the corner of his eye “For her sake if nothing else.” Then he ran off across the skulls in a fury towards his brother.

“I’m going to make you pay!” I turned my head away and gritting my teeth began my trek over to where Kagome was ignoring the battle around me. Then as I got there I looked back atthe two brothers. “All that for the memory of a dead mortal girl?” inuyasha looked furious “If I had known that’s what it took to make you fight I would have killed her sooner.” Inuyahsa looked more and more angry and as I looked at Sesshomaru I did not like what was going to come out of his mouth. “Maybe I should kill the hanyou girl too.” My eyes widened as I took a step back.

Inuyasha looked as though he was going to do something drastic as he turned to his brother “I’m going to slit your stomach, take out your guts and put them in a bowl!” I swallowed as I watched both of them as I leant more against the wall “By the time I am through your going to wish it was you who was dead!” I then heard movement and looked at where Kagome had melted, saw her sitting up and gave a puppy yelp as I lost my balance and landed on my backside with a thump my eyes wide.

“I thought I was a goner!” I slowly pulled myself up as I looked at her shocked as well as everyone else at this development. “Hey you! You tried to kill me didn’t you!” I took steps over to Kagome’s side “Don’t think your going to get away with it mister!” I finally reached her side as she handed the sword to Inuyasha “Here, think we underestimated it, don’t let me down.” She then smiled at him as Inuyasha just looked bewildered; I felt a surge of something as a scowl grew on my face.

“Hey how come you’re still alive?” I snorted at this though it did not have my usual enthusiasm as I gripped my side and ignored the pain. “The sword, that’s what protected you.” I looked over at Sesshomaru and swallowed as I watched him as the skulls underfoot all began to shake. “It’s true!” I looked over at the flea on Inuyasha’s shoulder as it jumped up and down “Those claws of his dirp deadly poison!” I looked back at Sesshomaru and swallowed again at seeing him beginning to glow. “It had to be the sword or she really would’ve died.” I glanced back at the two of them as began to move back towards the bone wall. “Why not put it to a real test and try it on Sesshomaru.”

I looked back up at the Yorkai in front of me and back at the flea “Not to be downhearted but isn’t Sesshomaru growing in power in front of us at the moment, because Inuyasha already tried to fight him and only just touch him, what the bloody fuck is going to happen in the bastard gets even more powerful?” The flea and everyone else just looked at me at this question and in reaction a crossed my arms, closed my eyes and turned my face away with a snort. “I will beat him.” I looked at Inuyasha as did Kagome and the flea “I have to.”

“Big words for being a hanyou.” Then Sesshomaru’s eyes dilated and a mini cyclone was created around him, me and Kagome just gaped. Then I pulled her behind Inuyasha as skulls were being flung at him and us. “Let’s see if a hanyou can wield the Tetsusaiga.” Then the wind got even stronger and I grabbed on to the back of Inuyasha’s Kimono. “I myself shall be a witness.” Then his eyes turned red and the wind got stronger. Then his face morphed in to a half dog half humanised creature and then turned in to a pink stream of light that shot off in to the air.

Then with facing his true form I was more scared than I had been in my life. “He changed?” Kagome sounded as scared as I was “Good, cause now we know his real form.” I then tugged on Kagome’s sleeve and she looked as me as we were beginning to be pushed back “Ha huh, now that I am using this, I’ll win for sure.” I looked at Kagome with a slight scared look and swallowed, she nodded as we both turned back to the creature that was forcing us back.

“Heh, I say this battle is finished before it even starts.” I then shook my head slightly as he swung the sword in a taunting move at the beast that was Sesshomaru. Then Inuyasha turned to us “You go hide until it’s over.” Kagome nodded as I kept watch on the creature. “Ok sure, but where?” I sighed and looked at her, “We climb.” She looked at me and we both nodded.

She then ran beside me to the side and then cried out as I pulled her on to my back and jumped out the way of the paw that nearly crushed her as she screamed in my ear. I then began to climb as I ignored the wound in my side. “Stop clenching so hard Kagome.” I felt her grip loosen as she gripped my Kimono top instead. “Sorry.” I sighed as I jumped up a bit higher “It’s alright just be-careful and tell me if that creature gets too bloody close. Ok?” She nodded in to my shoulder as I climbed up a bit higher “Kagome, Shade get as high as you can!” I stopped as I looked down at Inuyasha and then noticed the green like mist “That’s not what I think it is.” I gritted my teeth my face showing my frustration as my fist clenching.

“Poison mist.” She swallowed in to my shoulder as she gripped even tightly. “Get going!” I looked down at Inuyasha and nodded as I began to make leaps up the side to get away from the poison “Kagome keep an eye on that mist and if it reaches us pull on my hair, ok?” She nodded “Ok” I then went even faster while listening to the thundering footsteps of Sesshomaru’s form as it tried to crush Inuyasha as he dodged with a grunt each time.

“Inuyasha!” I stopped as I felt her call out and looked myself as I hung on with one hand and both feet “Now just climb, even a demon can’t stay in those fumes for long.” I could feel the tension in her body as she clenched my Kimono “We have to go.” I began to move before she pulled my hair and made me stop again “What about him, what about Inuyasha!” I looked up at the flea that turned to Kagome “Will he be ok?” I sighed my nose beginning to twitch as the fumes got closer.

“Uhh probably not…” Then his started to fall and we both watched him disappear in to the green mists below I snorted “served him right” when he came straight up in a panic of being in the fumes “Forget the heroics, it’s every flea for himself come on!” I began to move “Inuyasha!” and my ears flattened to my head in agony of her calling to him so close to my sensitive ears. We soon got to the top and I ran with Kagome to the outside breathing in the sweet air as I let her down.

“Inuyasha!” I sighed and went over to her to see what she was in a panic about and saw the beast that was Sesshomaru and Inuyasha still facing each other off ‘Sesshomaru looks really annoyed for some reason’ I then looked at Inuyasha and saw he was slightly hurt though he was hiding it well. “Now do you see the power of Tetsusaiga, ohh your giving Sesshomaru what for I hope uh…” My face was in a frown as I gripped him between two fingers.

“Where have you been? This things about as useful as a walking stick!” The flea had regained his shape “ohh, so maybe it isn’t from your father.” Then as he tried to escape I grabbed him “I don’t think so Miyoga. Ow!” I dropped him as he ran off nursing my hand. “What is it?” Kagome came beside me as I leaned against the pillar “The flea bit me that’s what he bloody did.” She snorted as we turned our attentions back to the other two.

“He left.” I growled as I nursed my hand “Why am I not surprised, in the meantime what am I going to do with this thing?” I then gasped as Sesshomaru tried to crush him. “Inuyasha you have to figure the secret to awaken the sword!” Kagome looked at me as Inuyasha was dodging the blows of Sesshomaru’s true form. “Why the hell did you not say so before?!” I glared in his direction as I gritted my teeth and snarled startling Kagome a bit “I am only just working out some flashes I have been having Inuyasha and I happen to know a little about the sword!” then Inuyasha landed near us.

“How the hell am I supposed to find out how to reveal it?” I looked away as Kagome smiled “Just give it to him Inuyasha! I think the first one hit.” Inuyasha had been distracted from me and I slid to the ground holding my side as a tear ran down my face “What are you nuts. That was not even close.” I looked at the ground another tear falling down the other cheek “But the swords yours now, all you’ve got to do is believe in it like I believe in you.” I brought a clawed hand up to my face as I struggled up ‘I am useless’ I sighed “uhh, you are nuts, this sword is good for nothing”

My eyes closed again tears making there way down my face “me I’ll live, I’m hanyou” my eyes opened again as I looked up ‘totally useless to help’ “you though, you ain’t got a chance” I looked at them both ‘I should leave once this is over’ “So I should just give up hope?” I looked at Kagome and saw the samw tears for a different reason ‘I will only slow the team down’ Inuyasha looked horrified at the sight of both our tears “wha? What are you doing?” I got up and pulled Kagome to me as she began to cry my own tears mixing with hers “Your not crying are you?” I ignored him as I closed my eyes my own falling even faster.

“No crying!” I felt Kagome move so a wrapped my arms around myself “Oh should I laugh!?” I felt her stiffen beside me as my eyes opened again my silent tears still falling “No! You should shut up and let me protect you both!” Kagome was shocked at that but I did not feel anything as I new I would leave after this was over. Then we all looked as Sesshomaru stood over us.

“Stay here and watch!” We both watched as he strode towards Sessohmaru a determined look on his face. “Wait a sec, I didn’t imagine that did I? did her just say her would protect me?” I then sighed startling her “We both did then.” She looked at me “Why are you crying.” I just looked at her and turned away to watch Inuyasha. I then turned my head as I saw her go off in another direction and heard her throwing skulls at Jaken as I kept my eye on Inuyasha and the pulsing sword.

Then as he went up in to the air I saw the sword change to the fang it was and slice off Sesshomaru’s arm. My eyes widened stopping the tears for a couple of seconds at this amazing display of power. Then as Sesshomaru lunged after Inuyasha spoke with his heart, he sliced the sword across Sesshomaru’s throat making him retreat until we would see him again in a blue ball of light. ‘We will meet again Sesshomaru.’ Both of us made our way to Inuyasha’s side though Kagome ran while I walked.

“Inuyasha?” I stopped just behind as I watched them “Inuyasha are you ok?” I felt my ears drooping as I watched her be concerned over him ‘there was never a place for me was there?’ “Hahaha, I take it back, so the swords not such a piece of junk.” I gave a small smile at this as I walked the rest of the way over to Inuyasha’s over side “You see, I was right.” I snorted as I squatted down to glare at the flea “I am the one with the most info Myoga not you.” I snorted again as I turned away. “look over there, see I was not running away, I was getting us a ride home.” I ignored the rest of his drivel and got on to one of the birds skelly backs and turned back to the others. “Are you coming or what I wanna get out of here!” They both looked at me and nodded as they each got on their own bird and we flew up to the portal, to freedom.

Then we came through the black hole and landed in a grassy plain as the tomb reinserted itself back in Inuyasha’s eye. “So how are you doing?” She looked worried at Inuyasha “Actually I feel pretty ok, everything’s back to normal and at least now I know the old man can rest in peace.” I snorted as I began to walk forward. “Oh and what is so funny about that Shade?!” I stopped and looked back as I smirked at her “Oh nothing except…” My head tilted as my eyes sparkled “Get a bath you need it.” I gave a laugh as I ran “Get back here Shade, don’t you laugh Inuyasha!” Everything was back to normal.

I looked up at the clouds near the small wooden bridge my eyes at half mast as I thought through my decisions, I the sighed as I sat up and leant back on my hands. ‘I need to see Kaede about this only she can help. I then walked through the village and passed Kagome on the way “hey Shade?” I turned my head and looked out the corner of my eye at her “yes?” she glanced around “you seen Inuyahsa around?” I blinked and turned towards her to point in the direction I had come “in a tree in that direction” she nodded and ran that way as she waved “thanks” I nodded and carried on my way to Kaede.

I had just knocked on the door frame when I heard a thump and breaking of wood and looked in the direction I had come from wandering what Inuyasha had said to get sat by Kagome.
