Chapter Eight: Chiyoko kisses her mystery man

Summer time had finally come. The day started out just like any other day. In fact, the day was going rather good. At the end of his work shift at the café Shippo started off home. He watched Chiyoko from across the street. Yori walked about ten feet behind her.
* * * * * * * * * * *
Shippo came home extremely upset. “Haruki, where are you? I’m having a break down. I need to speak with someone. I know your home. Where the hell are you?”
Shippo made his way around the house searching for Haruki. He seamed desperate to have a listening ear. Coming to a closed bathroom door Shippo hastily knocked. “Are you in there? Hurry up I need to talk!”
Haruki swung the door open. “Can’t a man have some peace when he’s in the bathroom?”
“Sorry! But I don’t know what to do. And I need to talk to someone NOW.”
“OK, just calm down. Have a seat; we can talk over a cup of tea.” Haruki went to the kitchen and poured two cups. He put a cup in front of Shippo and sat down.
Jumping up Shippo went into the kitchen and picked up the phone. As he dialed he gave Haruki a brief explanation. “I have to call Yori real quick before I forget.”
Listening to Shippo give Yori the information about the trip to Disney world, Haruki understood what had Shippo on pins and needles. Shippo made one more call to the young girls’ family as Haruki made them some sandwiches.
Shippo hung up the phone just in time for Haruki to place down the sandwiches on the table. Sitting down at the same time Haruki spoke. “I take it Chiyoko’s mystery man saved her life today.”
~Earlier that day~
Shippo looked at Chiyoko listening to her mp3 player from across the street. He couldn’t help staring at her. She looked so cute in her gym outfit. Her short blue shorts and white shirt was a compliment to her figure. With her hair in a high pony tail she looked like a young Kagome but even prettier. The silver in her hair sparkled in the sun light and her eyes glistened. Even her walk was hypnotizing the way she snapped her fingers and moved her hips to the music she was listening to.
A smile lifted at the corner of his lips just watching her. She was beautiful. He was so into watching her sing and dance down the street he didn’t pay any mind to Yori walking behind her with a gigantic smile plastered onto his face. After all Yori had the back side view of the dancing girl.
When the song ended another one began. This one was slower and she seamed to be singing from her heart. Her whole aura changed and she smelt like if she was in love. It had absolutely no sexual smell to it which made her scent even more alluring. The smell was so strong it was as if she was standing right beside him. Shippo could only remember smelling her like this once. He remembered telling her the smell made him sick but in all truth it was like dope for an addict. It made him want to take her as his mate so he could smell her like that forever.
Inhaling deeply Shippo smelt her sweet scent of love and was once again her addict. He listened intently as she started to sing.

Shippo couldn’t believe what he had just heard. She was singing to him. Well, the him from the past. Shippo almost wanted to jump out of his skin “She’s in love with me.” He knew she was going to choose him but smelling her like this because of him made it all real again. The stupid mystery man he had worried about all these years had nothing on him.
Shippo was so into Chiyoko he hadn’t paid any mind to where he was going. Her time to cross the street was coming up. He always had it timed just right; she would cross over and end up right behind him. Being that his house was right there he would walk up the steps and watch as she made it to her house. This time however with the distraction she would end up right in front of him. Thinking that would be to close Shippo slowed down his pace. Watching her cross over he listened to her sing.
“Turn me inside out make my heart speak.
Don't want nobody else you are all I need.
Personality (ty) in everything you do (do)

Yori was crossing the street as well. Because of her singing she was walking slowly. Passing Chiyoko Yori looked at her and smiled.
Shippo watched as her eyes looked at Yori’s. A small smile touched her lips. When Yori turned around she looked up and spotted Shippo in the crowd of people. As if dumb founded she paused and kept on singing.
“Your smile your style so fly I can't deny
I got a crush on you and that's true indeed.
I'm diggin you you’re makin me believe.”
She just stood there staring at Shippo and singing. She hadn’t even notice the light change. Chiyoko was standing right in the bus lane. Yori turned around when he heard the bus blow its horn. Seeing Chiyoko right in the middle of the street he yelled for her to move.
Shippo broke free from her spellbound song. He hadn’t noticed when she stopped and looked at him he had stopped too. He was standing about five feet in front of her on the side walk. Yori was a bout two feet from him.
The bus was coming at full speed. Shippo Looked at Yori and waited for him to grab Chiyoko. When Shippo broke eye contact Chiyoko came back to reality. Hearing the bus blow its horn again Chiyoko looked at it. In shock she couldn’t move, it was too close even if she ran, it was sure to hit her.
The next thing she know she felt a hand grab her arm and she was pulled to safely. She heard the wind from the bus pass by. She noticed the guy who saved her was none other then her mystery man. The music still played in her ears.

He held her tightly to his body. This was the first time she had been this close to him. She could feel how fast their hearts were beating. She smiled as she reached up her hand she touched his cheek. He smiled back at her as if under a spell. He had wanted to talk to her for so long, be part of her life; and now she was in his arms smiling at him. They were standing so close he could hear the music from the mp3 player.

They stood staring into each others eyes for what seemed like forever. Without any thought at all Chiyoko got on her tip toes, closed her eyes and kissed him. The kiss was soft. His lips tasted like brownies. She wished she didn’t have to pull away, but she did. They opened their eyes at the same time.
Almost without a voice Shippo whispered “It’s me!” She nodded and then blessed his lips with hers once again. This kiss was different from the first, it was deeper. The smell of fear had disappeared and all that was left was the smell of her love for him. She ran her fingers through his hair as he held her tightly by the waist.
This time when the kiss ended Shippo let her go. He took one last inhale of her sweet smell and turned around to go to his apartment. Closing the front door down stairs he heard her voice.
“You give me a really good feelin all day long.
Love it babe. Love it babe. Love it babe”

Sitting inside with Haruki eating a sandwich Shippo tried to explain. “I’m her first kiss”
“Dude it’s been five hundred years and your now just figuring it out.”
“No. Back then she was my first kiss. Now I’m her first kiss.”
“So let me get this straight. You’re her first kiss and she’s your first kiss. And somehow this is new information to you.” Haruki thought Shippo wasn’t lying when he said he was having a break down.
“Alright, let me get my thoughts together and I’ll explain. Right now I’m still in shock.”
“So if this has nothing to do with that stupid mystery man why did you send him away?”
“Well, you know how we hated that jerk off mystery man. It turns out he’s me. She’s been in love with me these last three years. I’ve wanted to kill ME. I hated myself almost all my life.”
“Hahaha. This my friend is irony at its best. HAHAHA.”
“I’m glad you find this funny.”
“I’m sorry Shippo. I’m listening. Go a head.” Trying hard despite himself to rub the smile off his face and the laughter in his belly.
“Haruki I don’t know what to think now. She lied to me. Her story was that she tripped on her shoe lace and he pulled her to safety. It turns out I’m the one who almost got her hit by the bus and then after saving her she kissed me. Twice. Why didn’t she tell me? And why the hell did she lie?”
“Think about it, in a few weeks she’s going to choose you over…YOU her mystery man. Maybe she already likes the you in the past and doesn’t want to hurt your feelings.”
“From what I found out today, she’s already in love with the me in the past. That’s why I don’t understand why she acted the way she did when she saw me in front of her. And for that matter why did she kiss me? Oh my gods, she’s cheating on me with me.”
Haruki couldn’t help but to let his laughter out. “Maybe somehow she figured out who you are. Think about it, didn’t you say the last thing she said was that she will always love you.”
“Yeah, but that couldn’t be what she meant by it. Either way, I can’t have this right now. This isn’t what’s supposed to happen.”
“I think you’re wrong. This is exactly what’s supposed to happen. Remember that idiot mystery man suddenly disappeared. You didn’t send him away, YOU went into hiding.”
