Day Three and Four

Chapter Eight

****Day Three****

The two sat in the room working on the technique Hiei had shown them to work on while he was away. Something was going on but the humans weren't privy to that knowledge. Not that Kagome really cared either way, she just wanted to do this so she could get on with her miserable life. She wasn't sure how she felt anymore about anything. Last night she'd climbed on the bay window without asking once again. Hiei hadn't said anything just welcomed her with a grunt. For a long time neither spoke while they looked out. Kagome wasn't sure why but his presence made her feel safe. She didn't know him, wasn't sure if she even liked him as a person. Yet, the night before sleeping with him had brought her a sense of peace. For once she didn't have nightmares, her sleep had been pleasant.

When she began to dose off he told her to lie down before she falls over. So, she took the chance and resumed the position as the night before. He told her he meant on the bed not him, she smiled and said she liked this better. He grunted but made no attempt to dislodge her. Kagome didn't feel odd or insecure falling asleep using him as a pillow.

Sano swore when his energy dropped forcing him to start over. "Dammit, why can't they just hand me a sword and let me chop some people up? This is aggravating to no end." He looked up when the girl started laughing,"What are you laughing at missy?" The sound lit her whole face up, she looked a lot better than she had the other day. Maybe sleeping next to the little guy had something to do with that. Not that he cared, she could do what she wanted. Should he care? After all weren't they together in some form? Well, if that was true then the little man also went with the package.

"You, stop trying so hard. Look at your shoulders, all tense. Let the energy come on it's own. Don't force it like that. Honestly, you look like you're constipated and need some castor oil. Take a deep breath start over and let it flow naturally." Kagome leaned over and picked his jaw up, he really needed to shave. While Hiei was boyishly cute, Sano was what she'd call ruggedly handsome. Both were nice-looking, well-built and all hers. 'Wait were did that thought come from?'

"Alright, if you say so?" He tried to do what she said. "This is harder than getting laid." He grumbled more to himself than her. All this energy blasting bullshit was for the birds. Let him punch the damn things, then it would be all over. This really wasn't what he'd been planning on when he'd returned to Japan.

"Really? Do tell!" Kagome smirked, his open way of speech was quiet amusing. It didn't bother her in the least but seemed to piss Hiei off on occasion. Her old friends from school had been just as bad if not worse, so she was used to it. Not to mention Inuyasha and Kouga's mouths, they'd make a sailor blush. "I've never tried so I wouldn't know."

"Huh? Wait you weren't suppose to pay attention to that." Sano shut his mouth before he said anything else out of place. He couldn't be saying stuff like that, he wasn't used to being around a miko. Whatever the hell that was, from what Hiei explained she was someone to be respected. The little man had said more than that, plus a few threats. Something about the mating being forced but he would uphold his honor. Since he was the second male brought in, it was also his duty to see to the safety of the girl when Hiei wasn't around to do so. Then small man had looked dead serious about it. There was also some rules about treating the girl with respect since she was their mate.

Sano had never heard of youkai before or their ways but from the way this Hiei spoke this bonding/mating thing was just as serious as any human marriage. Not that he needed the other guy to tell him to protect the girl, he'd do that anyways. He kind of liked her, she was weird. Not many women would laugh at his crudeness. Hiei got more offended than the Kagome, she just laughed at him.

"You said it, not me. I can't imagine you having trouble getting laid." Kagome sent the ball of energy into the air, concentrating on letting it float there as instructed to do. Sano was still building his slowly, taking his time finally. He was doing well, it just took him a while to catch on. Being totally ignorant at the begining it was to be expected.

"We won't discuss my sex life or lack of, it's not proper." She was blunter than him, what kind of holy person was she? Sano waited for his ball to get bigger, while she was keeping hers in the air with ease. "Don't ask if you can't share stories."

"Right, so tell me this. What kind of girls do you like?" Kagome raised her ball higher, the object of the excercise was to be able to control the energy. The further away it went the harder it was. She saw that his ball was ready to head up to join hers. "Will it up, don't force." Kagome advised him, wanting to see him do it. Wouldn't Hiei be pleased to come back and find them both able to do as he asked.

"I like my women to be sweet, caring and very gentle. What we use to call ladies back in my era, they didn't swear either. I never wanted a woman that could fight better than I could." Sano grinned at her, wondering if she got the playful insult. She scowled at him, then gave him her middle finger. "See, you're cruder than me at times. How do you think you can find a man with that attitude?"

"Guess it's a good thing I don't want one. Been there done that, have the broken heart to prove it. If a man can't love me for me then to hell with him. I won't change for anyone, not you, not Hiei." Kagome felt the ache trying to surface but she willed it away. She meant what she said, she wasn't going to be anyone but Kagome.

"Don't think we have to worry about Hiei wanting you to change. He must like the fighter types from what I've seen. Everytime I see him out of this room he's standing next to that strange lady. Don't get me wrong the half of her face I can see isn't too bad but the whole metal thing turns me off. Besides I'm a man, I see the way she touchs him. My guess is that they are lovers, why else would she be here?" Sano had watched the woman place a hand on Hiei's shoulder, the touch had been intimate.

"You think they are a couple then?" Kagome frowned towards the floor. Did Hiei have a lover here? True he usually didn't come into the room until late, was he with her? Why did that thought bother her? He was free to do as he pleased, the bond wasn't real and she wasn't really his mate. She'd taken a good enough look at the woman, she was pretty. Kagome could also sense that she was strong, more than Hiei.

"Maybe not a couple but definitely lovers, something is there. Don't worry I'm sure she won't get too angry knowing you've been using him as a bed." Sano smiled as her face dropped in horror, she was turning redder by the second. His face fell when she sent the blast into his chest knocking him back.

"Eat shit!" Kagome stood up, she was hungry anyways. How dare he bring that up, he was just jealous. She didn't have to listen to him. The sound of his laughter followed her out the room. The door silenced the annoying sound as it closed behind her. Maybe Rin would want to come have some lunch with her. Sango would be too busy training, the taijiya seemed determined to make that immature jerk eat his words. Kagome didn't understand why her friend was lettting him get to her. It was obvious he didn't like humans, how they expected a bond between those two to work was beyond her comprohension.

She rounded the corner trying to locate the other female. Voices were heard, one sounded like Hiei. Deciding she would let him know of her plans, she knocked on the door where his voice was coming from. She waited patiently, trying to be considerate. She just needed a quick break, some lunch and a nice walk to help clear her head. The door slid open, Mukoru stood there in nothing but a robe. Kagome felt herself blush all the way to her roots, what had she interrupted? Her eyes scanned behind the woman to find Hiei sitting on the bed wearing just his pants. "Sorry, I just wanted to let Hiei know that I'm not in the room. Sorry." She turned around, how stupid could she be?

Why did she even bother knocking on the door? Common sense should have told her what he was doing alone in a room with that woman. It didn't take a genius to figure it out. He wouldn't have gone back to the room for hours most likely. So he wouldn't have given a shit if she was there. He probably still didn't care either way. All she had accomplished was proving what kind of a idiot she was. So much for going to get lunch, she'd just lost her apetite. They were probably climbing back into bed laughing at the stupid human girl.

She found the room where Rin was, the girl called out in a weak voice. Kagome stepped inside, to find Rin practising balancing her energy. "That's wonderful Rin, we haven't gotten to that part yet." The miko walked into the room, Yomi wasn't with her. She noticed two things, it was hot as hell in the room and Rin looked like shit. "How long have you been at it?"

"Rin came in before the sun, her lord said to keep practicing until he came back. Look though," Rin brought up both her hands, now able to concentrate the energy equally without a problem. "Rin has done it." She smiled at Kagome, feeling proud of her accomplishment. Yomi had woken her up at three a.m. to begin training again. He'd stayed with her for about an hour then left again leaving her instructions for the day. The day had been spent working on her next set exercises.

"I was thinking about going for a quick walk, get some fresh air. Wanna come with me?" Kagome saw her lower her head and shift her weight. "Come on, you are doing great and deserve a breather. Besides as dangerous as things have become it would be unwise for me to go walking off alone. I need someone with me, I prefer your company. If Yomi has a problem with it he can take it up with me and die. Let's go." The miko grabbed her hand, noticing how clammy the skin felt.

"Very well but then Rin needs to come back to finish." Rin let herself be drug away, needing the small break. Even Yomi couldn't complain if Kagome didn't want to walk alone. The miko was too important to let any harm come to her. Some fresh air would help cool off her skin, that room was very hot for some reason. Her stomach had stopped growling hours ago, giving up voicing it's complaint. It had calmed down to a small pinching sensation now, dull but always there. She was hoping to ask Yomi for some time to go eat after showing him that she'd done what he asked. Maybe he'd let her call it an early day and head to bed after eating. She'd started feeling bad about two hours ago, finding it hard to keep standing.

Kagome led her into the hall, wanting to head to the balcony again. She'd been wanting to see the view during the day while they weren't being threatened by a large face. She remained silent as they walked, both enjoying the other's company. Sometimes words weren't needed. It felt good to get away from the strain of training, not to mention the males. "Maybe after our walk we can play hookie and go find that hotspring again. I'd love a nice long hot bath right about now."

"A bath would be nice." Rin followed her onto the balcony, the cool air hit her full force in the face. A shiver ran down her spine at the difference in temperature. She wiped the sweat off her brow, then looked over at the view. It was really pretty, different from what she had been expected. Growing up she'd heard Kagome speak of modern times, she never thought she'd live to see it. Everything was so amazing and new, she was thankful to be able to experience it all. It just made her wish Lord Sesshoumaru hadn't died, so he could have seen it. Jaken was just as impressed, the little imp had found him a new home. Yomi had made him his new advisor and personal servant, the imp was in heaven. Someone like him needed someone to boss him around at all times.

Kagome leaned over the railing, it crushed into her abdomen but the view was worth it. "Come look at this Rin." The girl leaned over also to watch all the youkai below go about their lives. "So odd, they almost exist just like us. I guess we aren't really that different. We just don't eat each other." She tried to crack the joke, hoping to get Rin to laugh. The girl looked so pale and uptight. "Rin?"

Rin took a deep breath, her stomach recoiled. Her hands gripped the edge of the railing, she was hanging over enough to be able to look down. When she tried to stand back up a wave of dizzyness hit her full force causing her to loose her grip. Dots appeared before her eyes, "Rin doesn't feel that good." She felt herself pitch forward, unable to make her muscles move to prevent it.

Kagome screamed in horror as Rin pitched forward. She managed to reach in time to grab a hand but the force of the rest of Rin's body going over pulled Kagome forward. She screamed again as she was yanked, her legs completely off the balcony. Rin's hands were slippery, so she had to grasp with two hands in order to keep ahold. "Rin, grab on." The girl seemed unresponsive to her voice, her eyes closed. Kagome felt the railing digging into her waist. The weight of her upper body and Rin's full body was threatening to pull them both down.

The miko called for help, praying that someone would hear her before they fell to their deaths. The material started to slid along the railing, they were going over. "Rin wake up!" Kagome tried to wake her, it was no use. It was either let the girl go to grab ahold of the railing, letting Rin fall by herself or pray that someone would come in the next couple seconds to save them. She sighed in relief when Rin opened her eyes, then screamed one final time. The girl realized their position and started to struggle, Kagome was jerked forward. She heard someone call her name as she went over. Rin's hand was lost as they descended towards the ground, falling to their deaths.

"They've gone bonkers!" Chu started running upon seeing the girls hanging over the edge, Touya right behind him. He heard the scream as they finally toppled over. "I'll get me the one in red." He sprang, leaping high into the air. The piercing sound stopped as his arms wrapped around the strange girl. "Well, what do you know, it's raining shielas."

Touya caught other closer to the ground. Her arms went around his neck almost cutting off his air supply. He landed on the ground, the impact jarring his legs. Luckily for the two, him and Chu had just gotten off guard duty and had been on their way to speak to Yomi. Two more were found dead, all the meat ripped from their bones. "How is she?" Touya turned to Chu, knowing that the one in his arms was fine.

"We're down right splendid, never thought I'd live to catch my very own angel right out the sky." Chu let out a loud laugh as the girl blushed. She was a might pretty one, he wondered who she belonged to. Had to be one of the humans he'd heard about. Someone sure was a lucky bloke to have such a foxy broad.

Kagome could hear her name being called from above, she squeeked when a hand landed high on her hip. "Thanks for catching me but don't get fresh." She shoved out of the man's arms, before he tried to grope her again. Her eyes went up to the balcony, "Wow, I guess I should really thank you." The idea of being splattered on the streets of Gandara wasn't how she wanted to meet her end. She could barely make out a redhead and black head above them. "Rin, are you okay?"

Touya frowned down at the girl still clinging to his neck. "Can you get her off me now? For someone so little, she has a tight grip." The girl buried her head against his chest, still shaking. The miko walked over to help, placing a hand on her back. The girl turned around seeing her friend, Touya lightened his grip so the girl could try to stand up.

Rin let her feet touch the ground, relief almost made her fall over. "Kagome, Rin didn't like trying to fly." She'd almost killed her and Kagome, she wasn't sure what had happened. "Rin doesn't know what happened, she swears." She'd been staring down one minute then she'd felt really dizzyness then woke up to find herself hanging in the air. The same feeling still clung to her, making her want to sleep once more.

"What the hell happened?" Hiei appeared beside Kagome causing her to jump. "Don't tell me you actually jumped off that balcony for fun." He glared at the miko, she looked fine. He'd been about to head for the bathing house when he'd felt her fear and panic. He'd arrived in time with Kurama to see them pitch over the edge.

"Yeah, we got into a fight over which one of us has the bigger ass. We couldn't decide so we figured we'd jump, whomever landed first won." Kagome screamed at him, was he a moron? She might be depressed and tired of life at times but she was no quiter. Rin loved life too much to even let a thought like that enter her mind. Her jaw dropped when two arms grabbed her by the shoulders and spun her around.

"Is that why you jumped? Hell you could have just asked me. Your bum is definitely nicer by far. Can't really see the other broad's since Touya won't let er' go." Chu reached down to test the firmness for himself. She was a real piece of work, this one.

"Move another inch and you will be missing a hand." Hiei's voice came out soft, the tone sharp with intent. Chu's hand stopped half an inch before being placed on the girl's person. He hadn't bedded her but wouldn't allow the drunken fool to grope her. "I may be thankful for you saving my mate but I will kill you if you dare touch what's mine."

Kagome would have blushed but anger was making it difficult. How dare he stake a claim on her, when he'd just been fucking that bionic woman? "I beg to differ, I am not yours. Don't you dare put a claim on me like I'm a piece of meat. If it wasn't for him I'd be dead since you were too busy to help. I know you're fast, fast enough to have made it in time. Which leaves one question, where were you? Oh wait, I know exactly where you were. I guess you had to put your pants back on before making sure I didn't die."

"Kagome, Rin doesn't feel so good." Rin pushed away from the blue haired man, she was going to be sick. Those black spots were coming back, was she going to fall again? No, she was on the ground. She could feel a hand on her cheek, soft but cold. Why couldn't she see anything?

Touya caught the girl as her legs finally gave out. "She fainted." He found himself holding her once more, she weighed almost nothing. If it weren't for the developed body he'd swear he was holding a child in his arms. She was shorter than him, almost child like in appearance. If the other girl belonged to Hiei, who did this one belong to?

"I suggest you hand her here before her mate arrives." Hiei reached out for the girl, knowing Yomi wouldn't take seeing the girl in the other man's arms. He was one thing but Touya was entirely different, being a single male youkai made him a threat. He felt the man's aura before he saw him, so did everyone else. Too late, Yomi was aware of the situation.

"You will hand her over," Yomi was came out the building with Kurama on his heels. "Kagome, you mind telling me why Rin is in another man's arms?" Yomi felt the man take a step back which angered him. He'd felt her fear and heard the screams, he'd left his men to come see what was wrong. She appeared to be asleep but not a healthy one. Her temperature was slightly raised, her heart beating too fast for his liking. What had happened here? He turned to the miko for answers.

"I went to see Rin and asked her to take a walk with me. We went out of the balcony, we leaned over to look. Next thing I knew she fell over, I think she passed out or something. Both of us went over, these two caught us before we ate pavement. There ya have it. Oh, and Rin just fainted again, you might want to see if she's ill." Kagome crossed her arms, wanting to finish her arguement with Hiei.

Yomi walked over to Touya, wanting to see what the man would do. He bowed and passed the girl over sparing his life. "Very well, Kurama come with me." He pulled the unconscious girl next to his chest. Her scent lingered in the air making it's way to his nose. He could smell her sweat, strange considering it was cold outside. Her temperature was slightly raised but not enough to cause this amount of perspiration. Something wasn't right but what? Had it been something she'd eaten? He'd have Kurama examine her then see what needed to be done.

Kurama was trying to wait until Yomi came back but the questions were bugging him. He'd take the time to examine Rin, he'd found a few things. There was no sign of injuries, she appeared to be exhausted. Something had drained her considerably but what. Yomi went down to the kitchen to find out what the girl had eaten in the last two days. Upon further examining Kurama was sure he heard her stomach growl. She was also dehydrated, maybe from the heavy sweating. Yomi had said she was suppose to have been working on simple energy controlling exercises, nothing major.

Jaken came into the room carrying fresh water. Kurama turned to the imp, "I'm going to check something out. Stay by her side until Yomi returns, do you understand?" His tone left no room for debate, the toad nodded. His walk led him to the room where the girl had been training. Where Kagome had said she'd fetched the girl from. He pushed the button to enter the room, the door slid open.

He almost fell over from the wave of heat that escaped into the hall. "Yomi!" He yelled down the hall, knowing the man would hear. He changed into his Youko form, to withstand the heat. Why was it so hot in the room? Each room was designed to have it's own thermostat, insulated seperately. Had Rin played with the gauge not knowing what it was? His skin was already feeling clammy, he walked over to the knob.

"Mind telling me why this room feels like an oven?" Yomi stepped inside, it hadn't been this way when he'd left this morning. "I found one problem, what did you find?" He'd been informed that Rin hadn't went to the kitchen to eat today or yesterday. When she woke he planned on having a long discussion with her, part of him felt guilty.

"I'd say someone changed the thermostat. I suggest you ask Rin if she touched it. If she didn't then I'd say you have a problem on your hands my friend. No human could stand this heat, not one as small as Rin. You are lucky Kagome fetched the girl when she did or you'd be solved the problem of having an unwanted mate." Kurama set it back to the proper temperature. He turned to see the frown on Yomi's face. It had meant to be a joke, mostly. It might be possible that someone was trying to harm the girl. Something told him the man didn't appreciate the last part. His former partner and second in command was a different man from the one he'd known a thousand years ago. Time and experience had matured him greatly, he also had his pride. Kurama knew that even if he never took the girl sexually, his honor would never allow him to get rid of her. The girl would have his protection as long as she lived.

Shizuru wished she had some hotsauce to go on her food. She wasn't sure what she was eating, didn't want to know. Kenji was sitting beside her, the taste didn't seem to phase him. He was scarfing down the food as fast as he could while retaining some manners. The fork stabbed at the meat, she was sure it just moved. "I wonder if Rin is okay?"

"I'm sure she will be fine." Kenji tried to reassure her between bites. The food tasted wonderful in his opinion. Then again he'd grown up with his mother's cooking then Yahiko's. He'd never gotten married himself, not being sure if he wanted to take that step. He'd dated a girl once, she'd reminded him so much of his mother. Things hadn't worked out for him, maybe this was why. Fate had made sure he never took a wife, so he one day he'd be free to fufill his destiny; to help save these people. It was what kept him going, from losing his mind. The girl beside him was helping, she was easy to talk to. She'd said her parents were never around growing up, leaving her to raise her little brother. He'd then opened up about his own father, Kenshin's wandering. Always leaving his mother, his whole life. The only thing that kept him from truelly hating the man was because the man had found his way back to her in the end. His mother had held him while he passed on, she died shortly after. She'd gotten to see the man she loved before meeting her end.

"Yeah, guess I'm worrying for nothing. Wonder where everyone else is? Probably don't want to eat this shit either. What I wouldn't give for a pizza." Shizuru threw her fork down unable to eat anymore of what they called food. Where was Kurama? The fox had left earlier and hadn't returned. Maybe he'd stay away long enough so she could get to sleep first. She'd been awake for half the night because of him. Sometime in the middle of the night, he'd rolled over to use her as a pillow. Having his head on her tits had been too much. He refused to move when pushed away, clinging to her in his sleep.

"What's a pizza?" Kenji pushed his plate away having ate enough to keep him going. He eyed Shizuru's food wondering if she could survive off the few bites. She was slim but he didn't see where she was starving herself. Her body was slender but filled out, curves that any man could appreciate. He silently scolded himself for inspecting her.

"I'll have to show you once this is all over. It's better than this garbage they are trying to feed us, trust me. Once we win, we'll have to have a big party at my place to celebrate." She pulled out a cigarette and stood up, Kenji was quick to follow. She wondered if Kurama would allow her to use his cell phone, for some reason she felt like calling Kazuma.

****Day Four****

Rin was confused why Yomi seemed so angry. She hadn't meant to do anything wrong but he had yelled at her. She'd woken up and knew it was past dawn, she was late for training. He was sitting on the bed waiting for her to get up. His first question had been if she'd touched something in the training room. She promised him that besides going to the bathroom she hadn't messed with anything, why would she? Wanting to please him had been her goal, so practicing had been her main concern. That answer seemed to upset him, did he think she was lying? Then he questioned why she hadn't eaten, then he looked confused when she said he didn't say she could. She'd only been following his orders, why was he mad?

Jaken had come in with breakfast for her, then Yomi had informed her that she was to take the day off from training. She knew he really wanted her training but was happy for the small break. After eating he took her outside, she found the garden minutes later. There was a lot of odd plants growing she didn't recognize. She giggled upon seeing the variety of flowers growing in the back. Yomi told her not to go far as she ran off.

Seeing the flowers brought back memories of her childhood. How she loved to pick flowers for Lord Sesshoumaru. Would Yomi like them as well? She bent down and picked a purple flower, it smelt wonderful. She giggled as she ran back over towards her new lord. Jaken was speaking to him, his back turned. She held the flower behind her back waiting for him to finish. It was rude to interrupt their discussion.

Yomi sent the imp on his way, then turned to her. His people were inspecting the training room, no malfunction had been found. Someone had intentionally snuck into the room and turned the temperature up. Someone had to do while Rin had stepped out to use the facilities after his departure. So someone was trying to harm the girl but why? None of the other humans had been bothered, why just his mate? She wasn't the type to make enemies or make others angry. She was very polite to everyone and kept to herself. "What are you doing?"

"Rin has brought you something." She held the flower in front of him, wondering how he would react? Would he call her stupid or childish? Her eyes turned to her feet waiting patiently for him to either yell at her or accept the gift. Several moments passed before his hand came out to take it, she smiled at the ground. She bowed then ran back off, to see what else she could get into.

Yomi didn't speak as she took off, staying in range. A small smile passed over his mouth, he'd admit she was unique. Everything about her spoke of innocence, almost untouchable. He knew from Jaken that she'd seen her share of death and violence but she seemed unaffected by it all. Keeping that frame of mind that would let her live peacefully no matter the circumstances. Being around her brought a calming effect to his soul, he knew it was more than the bond.

Every woman he'd known was completely different from his Rin. In his younger days, none had wanted his attention unless he was paying for them. As the centuries passed and he came into power they started flocking to him. All due to his power and position, wanting what he could give them. Most all of them got was a quick tumble nothing more. The few selected got a few gems, material things he felt like parting with for their affections. None had cared for his well being or dreams. All after one thing, power.

Yet the small girl in front of him had just given him something. It wasn't an expensive jewel or anything of value, just a simple flower picked from his own garden. But she had done so of her own free will, expecting nothing in return. The gift left him confused but flattered, he hadn't given her anything. He'd actually left her for the last two days without being concerned for her well-being. Most would say he was ignoring her, doing only what was necessary. The other human girls would have had a fit, instead she'd listened to him; doing her best to please at the risk of her own health. Guilt wasn't something he liked to feel, he still felt it just the same.

Genkai stopped with her hand on the door, not wanting to disturb Yusuke. He hadn't noticed her return, she could understand that. He'd finally gotten up the nerve to call Keiko. She let her ears pick up what was being said on his side, wanting to be nosey. She dropped her hand leaving the door slightly cracked, to allow his voice to come out.

"Yeah, I know. I understand Keiko, it's just that I really wanted them. I know it's not your fault, it's probably mine. I know you didn't mean it that way. I guess after seeing Kuwabara with his kids, I really wanted us to have our own. That doesn't matter now, I can accept it. I just don't want to lose you, I love you. We can work this out, I can't lose you now. You're all I have." There was a long pause, "Please, Kuwabara already said they'd come by and get you. I want to see you, plus you can see Genkai again."

She almost snorted at that comment, she doubted Keiko would be happy to see her now. If the girl came tomorrow she would be informed of a few things Yusuke was surely leaving out. Like them being mated and having a bond. A bond that would remain long after his wife was dead. She had liked the girl but was she still the same person? Had time changed her as well?

"I'll try, I'm sure Genkai won't mind. She doesn't really need any training, we are just trying to get ready. I'll have some time to spend with you while you are here. I promise I'll spend as much time with you as I can. Don't say that, you come first. As soon as this mission is over, you come first from now on." Yusuke sighed, making the promise once more. Hadn't she come first for the last twenty years?

A/N: Please read and review. I plan on making this story very long and detailed going into each relationship the best I can. Would like to know whether or not if I should take the time. So, please review and let me know what you think. Any hints are suggestions are welcome.
