Inu yasha sat with Kagome on the beach, they watched together as Mahiru and Kashi played in the surf, kicking up water at each other, Sachi sat with Sei, both of them already into the chip bags. Kiran was sitting with water up to his ears.

“It’s so nice up here…” Kagome baited Inu yasha into a conversation.

“I guess so.” He shrugged as he pushed his toes into the sand and wiggled them. He looked at her as she watched her friends play. She was so beautiful, the way she smiled, so subtly, the way the wind caught the smallest strand of her raven hair and made it dance. He tried to keep himself from staring at her voluptuous breasts, so he quickly looked past them to her navel, which had a small silver ring through it.

“Kagome what’s that?” he pointed at her belly button.

“What…Oh that, Kashi pierced it for me right before spring break, she’s going to college to be a tattoo and piercing’s specialist.”

At hearing her name Kashi turned. “Yup, I’m going to be a body artist. Hey Inu yasha you would look great with a couple of studs in your ears, I could put ‘um in for ya if ya’d like, free of charge!”

“Inu yasha fought the urge to flinch as he thought about sticking needles through his sensitive ears. “Nah that’s ok Kashi…”

Kashi shrugged and went back to playing.

Mahiru grabbed a coke from the cooler and plopped herself down between Kagome and Inu yasha.

“Hey Kagome there is a new dance club up in Bentford, want to check it out tonight?” Mahiru sipped her coke.

“Sure sounds fun.” Kagome smiled.

“Kiran has some fake ID’s in his car for you and Sachi, I have one of my own. It’s going to be great…Hey Kiran! Did you guys bring any sunscreen? I’m turning into a cherry tomato over here!”

“I brought some but its in my suitcase up at the house.” He called.

“Wonderful…I hate being so pale, I fry so easily…” It was true, Kagome and Inu yasha could already see the pink hue on her cheeks and shoulders. “I’ll be back in a little bit. Need anything from the house while I’m going?”

“Nah we’re good.” Said Kagome.

Mahiru stood and brushed the sand from her legs and ass then left.

“I’m going to go swimming.”

“Ok, I think I’ll just stay here for a bit…not in the mood for swimming just yet…” Inu yasha replied.

“Suit yourself.” Kagome stood and walked out into the lake. The water was cool and felt good on her skin, she would have to put some of that sunscreen on when Mahiru got back, she could feel her skin tightening and crisping.

The water was murky but she could make out the shapes of small minnows swimming near the surface. As she got out to the waist deep water chills went up her back, the water was colder the deeper it got. She quickly submerged herself to adjust to the coldness. It didn’t take long for her to get used to it.

Kagome was a good swimmer, her mom had always thought that it was important for a child to know how to swim, which is why she had enrolled Kagome in swim classes when she was four. She had always felt comfortable in the water.

She loved the feeling of weightlessness, she briefly wondered if this was how Inu yasha felt when he was running through the feudal era…

Kagome could feel the seaweed tickling her legs. Perhaps she had gone out to far. She laid back and floated. The sky was bright blue and the sun was glaring ruthlessly. She closed her eyes and relaxed completely.

In the back of her mind she could hear her friends yelling and laughing.

All of a sudden something seemed to grab her from around her waist, before she could scream she was pulled under by an unseen force. She thrashed madly but could not free herself. She pulled and tugged at the arms wrapped around her waist. All of a sudden her thoughts flew to the story Mahiru had been telling them on the way here. The Songstress.
‘Help me….Inu yasha…anyone…’

Her lungs ached as she looked up she could see the suns light fading as she was dragged deeper into the lakes depths.

‘I’m going to die….I can’t breathe…’ she had been so shocked when she was pulled under she didn’t have the chance to take a deep breath. Her vision blurred, her heart raced.

‘Help me…Anyone….HELP ME!’ Kagomes mind cried out.

‘I don’t want to die yet…Inu yasha…” Kagome watched as her breath floated away in small bubbles, she blacked out.

Mwhahahaha! ~Is evil~.....Anyway, Sorry this took so long to post, but Ive been working on my other story, you know, the one NO ONE has reveiwed for ~cries~ <.> No one loves me no more....O well >> guess you guys will just have to pick up the slack and reveiw twice as much for this story....hehe just kidding....or am I?
