Getting On My Nerves


Shizuru drew a card and placed it on the table. She really sucked at this game, like usual Rin was winning. "Damn it." Snoring was heard coming from the couch.

"He's loud." Rin looked over to see Kouga sprawled out on the couch cutting some serious Z's.

"And he's annoying." Shizuru added. 'And sexy as hell. Annoying. Has nice legs. A smart ass. Bet he has a six pack that's not located in the fridge. Cocky. Promise of a nice tush under that loin cloth. Arrogant. Probably wild in bed. Inconsiderate. Nice abs. Pushy. Oh yeah, I need help.'

"You're turn Shizuru," Rin looked down at her hand not really seeing it. Her thoughts kept returning to her first kiss. It had been wonderful, exciting and better than anything she'd ever dreamed about.

"This is not my game." Shizuru placed another card down.

"Me either, think I'll head to bed. I'm sure Yusuke is waiting," She stuck her tongue out at the older girl.

"Goodnight Keiko." They called in unison causing Kouga to speak up.

"Shut the hell up already. How's someone suppose to sleep with you two chattering all night long?" He rolled over trying to get comfortable. "Especially you. If anyone is annoying its you."

"Eat me Fido."

"Don't make offers, girl. Unless you are woman enough to stand by them." He heard her quick intake of breath.

"Well, I'll go to bed too." Neither were paying attention so Rin grabbed her glass and pushed her chair in. She needed some sleep.

"Who said it was an offer?" Shizuru asked. "I wouldn't let that filthy mouth of yours near me."

"If I remember correctly you let this filthy mouth on your pretty little mouth earlier."

"Temporarily lapse of sanity, won't happen again." She stood up, deciding to clean up then head to bed herself.

He jumped up. "Really, wanna test your sanity?"

She turned around to face him, her hands came up to ward him off. His hands grabbed her shoulders yanking her against him. His lips claimed her, forcing her to open her mouth. He forced his tongue inside her mouth, her tongue came out to meet his. She wrapped her arms around his neck pulling him closer. She found she lost all coherent thought when it came to him. He was starting to growl as his hand came up to cup her breast. She felt that jolt down her spine and the heat pooling between her legs. Oh, yeah she wanted the cocky bastard.

"VVVRRRRNNNNNTTTTT." A loud crude noise echoed through out the living room. They broke apart, suddenly remembering that they weren't alone. Shizuru almost laughed, leave it to Kuzuma, who was sleeping on the floor to break wind.

Kouga released her, "Be thankful your brother is a pig, or you would have soon found my filthy mouth buried between your legs."

She blushed at the comment and turned to flee. She left her mess on the table and ran for the shelter of the bedroom. 'That was way too intense for my liking. Best to keep my distance from him.' She got ready for bed.


A week later Shizuru and Rin were sitting under her tree. For the last six days, the girls became closer. It was probably due to the fact that Keiko and Kagome got closer since they had something in common to bond with. They were both in love and usually discussed their men. While Rin and Shizuru were both trying to keep from being alone with the two men in their thoughts.

Shizuru didn't know what to think of the wolf youkai. He was driving her insane. Soon they would really need to test her sanity, she was losing it. She went as far as dreaming about a set of beautiful blue eyes. During their meals he would make smart ass comments just to piss her off. She was sure he enjoyed pushing her buttons, she would oh so love to punch his face in. Don't doubt that the thought hadn't crossed her mind. Then there were times when she caught him staring at her. What was on his mind was obvious and it made her melt. So Rin gave her a way to never be alone with him.

Rin however was torn. She wanted to spend time with Hiei and that was her problem. She wanted to but refused to come between two people. After that night, she'd woken up the next morning with hope. She knew she had feelings for him. Sure he didn't speak much, but when he did it was worth a thousand conversations. He spoke more through his actions than actual words. To make sure of what she should do. First she needed to do was find out how he felt about Yukina. So she decided on asking a person who seemed to be close to him. She found Yusuke outside the next morning. She'd walked up to him and spoke.

"Morning." It so happened Yukina was coming in from her garden carrying a basket, Hiei had landed next to her offering to carry it for her. So she commented on it to see Yusuke's reaction. "He really loves her doesn't he."

"Yep, he sure does but thats to be expected since..." He suddenly turned around walking off. "I need to ask Keiko something."

She wasn't sure what else he'd been about to say, it didn't matter. She learned what she needed. Hiei did love the other girl. It left her with questions. Like, why had he kissed her? It also left her feeling empty and sad. She wouldn't try to steal another woman's man. So, when Shizuru started spending time with her it helped. If only a little it got her mind off the fire youkai and it was someone to pass the day with. Several times she tried to look over and hoped she'd be able to catch him at least looking at her. He was either looking off in the distance or looking at Yukina. He probably didn't remember kissing her.

Shizuru heard Rin's sigh and thought about asking her what was wrong. Then she felt a sudden jolt down her spine, she jumped up and grabbed Rin's hand. "Move." She yanked the girl forward. A large blast hit the ground where they'd been previously sitting. Not being able to make it clear, it knocked both of them over.

No one had been expecting trouble nor had they sensed a youkai. So the sudden noise caused them all to jump. Pieces of wood were descending out the sky as the dust cleared.

Rin crawled on her knees caughing as the dust cleared. Shizuru was moaning not far away, Rin made her way over. "Shizuru, are you okay?"

"I see both of you are still alive but not for long."
