A Dream of You

The Makai


Youko sat down next to his partner and looked out into the night sky. "Are you sure you don't want to return with me?" He was planning on going back to the makai for at least a month or so. He wanted to collect some plants and was in need of some female company. He was already well known so he would be able to find company easy.

"Nah, I'll hang out here until you get back."

"Alright just don't go try and fuck my mate." Youko meant it as a joke but instead of laughing his friend looked over at him. It had been over a month since he'd claimed the girl. True he had thought about her almost everyday. He wondered if she was okay, he knew she was still alive. Having marked her, he could still feel her presence. He would know it the minute she was gone.

"I'll ask now, will it change anything?" Koronue said.

"No, I don't want her. I will never bed her nor will I be faithful. Even now I plan to go seek pleasure in the arms of another female. I won't treat her like a true mate, I won't expect her to do the same." Youko got up to leave. "I'll find you when I get back. Oh, something tells me you should have been the one to claim her."

Kagome's feet were killing her and she had a headache. They'd been searching for Naraku for several weeks and to no avail. They didn't really need to find him just his heart. They couldn't find shit. What bothered Kagome the most was the talk she and Kikyo had not long after the woman had joined them. True the woman wasn't very friendly but they'd called a truce of some sort. She had confirmed Kagome's worst fear. Once the jewel was destroyed there was a good chance she would cease to exist in this time and be sent back to hers. And the jewel had to be destroyed or sent from this world.

They finally stopped for the night and Kagome needed a bath. Sango decided to go straight to bed, so Kagome was going it alone. Kikyo and Inuyasha had went off to be alone. Thankfully they'd went in the opposite direction of the hot spring. Everytime they came by this way Kagome would insist they swing by. She loved this spot.

She undressed and climbed in. Her bow and quiver was near the edge in case she needed them. She soaked for at least thirty minutes before deciding to wash. She decided to wash her hair first and went for her shampoo. The lather quickly covered her hair and scalp. She closed her eyes enjoying the feeling of clean hair. She really didn't see how the others went so long without bathing.

Koronue sat on the rock watching her, he'd jumped down to land in front of her. Her eyes were closed as she watched her hair. Something sweet tickled his nose, it had to be coming from the stuff on her hair. She moaned not realizing she was the object of lust at the moment. His eyes followed the soap as it slid down her neck to trail down the valley between her breasts. She had good size breasts for one so small.

Kagome decided to wash the water out her hair. She emerged herself in the water, running her fingers in her locks to make sure all the soap was gone. She stood up and tried wiping the water off her face. She jumped when a voice spoke. "You really shouldn't bathe alone little one."

She ducked down in the water automatically covering her breasts from his view. "What the hell are you doing here?"

"I came to see you." He stated it like he was giving a weather report.

"Couldn't you have waited for some other time?" She knew her face was five shades of red. "How long have you been sitting there?"

"Long enough." Her blush made him smile. She really was cute.

"Do you mind turning around so I can get dressed?" She glared at him. But he complied with her wishes and gave him her back. She quickly ran over to her towel, wrapping it around her body. Then went into the woods to get dressed. She came back fully dressed and her hair wrapped in the towel.

He lifted his eyebrow but didn't remark. He sat back down on his rock to look at her.

"Are you done with your search?"

"For Naraku or the jewel shards?"

"Either?" He waited for her answers.

"No and No. Well, we know where all the jewel is but Kouga has two shards, Kohaku has one and Naraku has the rest. We are looking for Naraku now." She sat down when he made room for her.

"Why does he want to kill you?"

She gave him a big grin, "Because I totally kick ass."

He laughed at her. She glared at him, okay so she wasn't Kikyo. His ears perked when he heard a strange noise. "Do you hear that?"

Kagome tried to listen, it was faint but it was there. "Yeah almost sounds like moaning. Oh my, I really didn't need to hear that, thank you."

"Sorry, does it hurt you to see him with her?" He was curious exactly what her relationship to the hanyou was.

"Yes and No. I still love him but I know we will never be together." Kagome was suprised how easy it was to talk to him. "I've accepted the fact that he wants to be with her. I think what bothers me is I want him to be happy but she has tried to drag him to hell with her. I want to see him live." She pulled the towel off her head and began to towel dry it. "What about you? Got a special someone?"

"No."

"Just no? Any family?"

"Youko is my family. What about you?"

Kagome thought of both her families. "Well you've met my friends, I consider them my second family. But I have my mother, little brother and grandfather. Oh and our cat. You don't find it lonely?" She asked.

"No." Another short answer.

"So no girlfriend?"

"No."

"Boyfriend?" She smiled at the look that crossed his face.

"NO."

"Is there a reason you keep popping in my life?"

"Yes," he turned to look at her. Her mouth was hanging open at the omission. He was waiting for her to ask but she didn't.

She stood up, "I need to be heading back to camp before the others start to worry."

"Very well. Will you meet me tomorrow after your group has made camp?"

"Why?"

"Youko has gone off for awhile and won't be back. Let's say I'm bored."

She sighed, "Okay, as long as you don't come univited to my bath again."

"We will see." He watched her walk back to the camp. The moaning was still going on in the distance.
