Training and A Walk

Author's Note: Yes the pairings will be Kurama/Kagome because they are one of my favorite couples. Sango/Yusuke, I haven't seen one of these yet so I think I'll give it a try. Kurama is so hot!!!! (Just had to throw that in there.)

Chapter Seven

Souta was answering the questions being thrown at him with ease. The guys started out asking about which building was which. It had all seemed like normal questions until they centered on his two sisters. They were currently in their little dojo doing whatever it was they did in there. The one question caught him off guard.

"Are they both single?" This came from the red head fellow.

"What do you care? You both came with girls." Souta remarked. Laughter followed the boy's embarrassed look. He'd seen the other two girls. Besides it was his duty to protect them from lecherous men. He saw Kagome come out long enough to spot him talking to the two men. Then she turned around and several minutes later returned only to shut the door.

"Yes, well to be honest with you. I do not have a girlfriend. My friend here is engaged but I'm a free." Kurama was trying to placate the young man. He was trying to protect them which was honorable.

Yusuke only half listened to the conversation. Suddenly he wished he was as free as the kitsune. Guilt filled him at the thought. Keiko had always been there for him and here he was wanting to talk to another girl. The feeling was there that he couldn't deny. Was he being true to himself and Keiko if he didn't make sure it meant nothing before they got married?

Kagome and Sango decided to spar a little bit before stopping for the day. The sparring sessions got serious sometimes, leaving them breathless afterwards. Privacy was for the best so Kagome had shut the door. If her mother saw what went on she'd punish both of them. Sometimes one of them got hurt, not serious but blood was shed. It was making both stronger, so it was worth a few drops.

Kagome had the Tetsusaiga and Sango the Tenseiga. Neither sword would transform or cut without proper wielding, so it was safer than a real one. After shouting go, they went at each other. Sango was still the better of the two but Kagome was a fast learner. She would swing down and Kagome's blade would clash causing the sound to ring out. For at least twenty minutes they sparred neither giving in. Sango brought her sword down high over both heads, just as expected Kagome caught the blade in time to stop her head from being bruised. The exterminator brought her foot up kicking the girl in the stomach.

The miko saw the foot coming and went to protect herself. A barrier came up between the two. The impact sent both flying backwards full force. Kagome had been standing close to the door she'd just closed. She felt it give way behind her and watched the sky over head as she fell with it to the ground outside. "Damn, gramps should have hired a real carpenter." She jumped in time to see Sango charging her.

"Prepare, yourself." Sango leapt outside bringing the sword down. Neither noticed that they still had company outside. Souta was also watching in awe, he'd seen them spar on many occasions and found it fun to watch.

"You guys are going to love this." He stated. Everyone stared in horror believing they were about to kill each other.

Kagome brought Tetsusaiga up blocking the blow. She mentally patted herself on the back, of course Sango had warned her. Sango tried to kick her feet out but she leapt several feet back landing gracefully. "You're getting slow in your old age, Sango."

Sango smiled at the taunt. "You are just as slow as Inuyasha weilding that thing." Sango charged her again. Metal rang out as the blades met. Kagome took a swing at Sango's head causing the girl to duck. As she went down, she formed a plan. The miko was still in midswing when her feet where swept out from under her. She landed on her backside with a thud.

"Ow. Did you have to do that, now I'm going to have a big bruise on my ass." Kagome pouted. "You are just as merciless as Sesshomaru when you wield that damn thing."

"I'll take that as a compliment I think. You did good." Sango helped her to her feet. Souta's shout broke their little moment.

"Wow, that was the best ever." He ran up to them. They were smiling down at him. "One day you will have to teach me. Then I can wield the Tetsusiaga and be just like Inuyasha."

"I'm afraid it won't work for you Souta." The boy pouted at his sister. She looked over at the door. "Shit how are we going to explain that to mom?"

"Bad carpentership?" Sango laughed. Ofcourse it wouldn't be funny trying to explain the busted door to both adults. Grandpa would surely be pissed since he was the one to erect the building. A cold breeze swept across the yard causing her hair fly up into her eyes. Sometime during the fight her ribbon had come loose letting her hair down.

They went to the task of erecting the door back to its proper place. Neither noticed Grandpa shoo-ing the four spectators away. He planned on having a long talk with both girls real soon. They were no longer in the fuedal era, things like sparring wouldn't be toleraterd.

It was a week before the wedding, exactly a month after the sparring match. Kagome was taking Sango to the park for a moonlight stroll. Since they didn't have boyfriends, it was a nice peaceful walk between friends. It was nice to get out of the house for a change. They had been scolded by both adults about doing something so dangerous with each other. Even reminding them that neither sword could cut didn't appease their anger.

The moon was full and lit the sky up. The night was one meant for lovers not friends. They were entering the park which was almost deserted when Kagome spotted red hair sitting on a swing. Her heart leapt, not many people had that color of hair. Crickets chirped filling the silence as she observed the pair sitting with their faces turned away. From the back it looked like Yusuke but she couldn't be sure. It was a week before the wedding shouldn't he be at his bachelor party or something? Deciding it not best to interupt she lead her friend to the far end of the park to the merry-go-round.

Sango was too lost in thought to notice Kagome scoping someone out. It was a week before the wedding at the shrine. She'd given up hope of ever getting to know the strange man. She was being led to a strange seat that was shaped like a table with a few bars attached. "What's this?"

"I'll show you. Get on like this." Kagome stood with one leg on the round table holding on. Sango mimicked her but behind her to watch. When Kagome started trying to run causing the table to spin she copied. Within seconds it picked up speed, but they kept running increasing their speed. "When I tell you to jump on. Now." Both girls picked themselves up, jumping on.

Sango held on as the world spun around her. Her hair whipped around her face blinding her for several seconds. She laughed at the sensation it caused. It was actually fun.

"What do you think?"

"How fast do you think we can get it to go?" Sango asked. The miko shrugged and waited for the table to slow down. "Lets find out."

So they got back in the same position but opposite of each other this time. "Ready?" Kagome gave the signal to go. For several minutes they went as fast as their human legs could take them. Laughter rang out as they climbed on. The speed was so great they were having trouble holding on.

"I'm going to slip and break my ass I know it." Kagome shouted. The image of her flying through the air crossed her mind. Sango's hands were beginning to slip as well. Kagome's hand slipped but Sango managed to grab her before she fell backwards. "Thanks." Before another word was spoken, the table came to a complete and sudden stop.

Yusuke had left his party to take a walk. Kurama had followed him knowing what plaqued his friend. It only took several minutes for him to coax him into talking about it. They ended up in the park sitting on the swings before they stopped.

"Life suddenly got complicated. Before my biggest worry was if I'd die during a match. Think I'd give anything to be back in the ring with Tugoru instead of having to deal with this." Yusuke sighed. It hadn't taken the fox much to get him to open up. Of course he was the only one he would tell. "What would you do if you were me?" He wrapped his hands around the chain, looking for comfort.

"I know you love Keiko but you are no longer human Yusuke. You are much like me. We may appear human but we aren't. Demons mate, they don't get married. Humans marry those they believe they love and should be with. Demons mate with those that call to their blood. Your human side says you should marry Keiko yet I believe your demon side has found something it likes within the other girl. You can choose to ignore your demon side but deep down you will always yearn for the other girl. Yet, I must warn you. If you already have desire for the girl and you haven't spent time with her or even touched her. I'm afraid if you decide to follow upon that course, you will most likely end up hurting Keiko. Be wise, choose well my friend." Kurama gave him the best advice he could.

Laughter caused both to look back. "You gotta be shitting me." Yusuke said. Did speaking of her cause her to appear out of thin air? Kurama hadn't sensed them enter the park and was just as baffled. He was becoming soft it seemed. The fox turned to his friend. "Well, if you want to see if anything is trully there. You have just been offered your chance." They watched for several minutes as they spun themselves once more.

Yusuke saw the miko getting ready to fall off and ran to stop them from spinning. It didn't enter his mind that it would put him in the vacinity of the girl in question. It came to a sudden stop causing both girls to jerk. Kurama was standing beside him, though he'd been prepared to catch the girl.

Kagome turned to see who caused the sudden stop. Her eyes fell Yusuke first who had his hand on one of the bars. "Thanks, thought I was going to take flight for a minute there."

"Don't worry, I would have caught you." Kurama spoke up. He saw her turn to look at him for a mere second before averting her eyes.

"Thanks again," She blushed.

Yusuke was looking at Sango who had her head turned away staring at something interesting on the ground. A smile split his face, he would find out tonight he decided. "Mind if we join you? Its much funnier when someone else is pushing you."

"Sure," Kagome jumped on to stand beside her friend. "Something tells me we better hold on tight Sango." Kurama jumped on also standing in between the two girls. He'd make sure neither were sent flying into the air by the detective.

"I never said I'd push you Kurama." The fox merely smiled.
