7. Training
Chapter Seven
Kagome made her way to the dojo after asking Keiko where it was located. She had butterflies in her stomach and tried to calm her nerves. 'This is getting ridiculous! How the hell can both Hiei and Kurama effect me so much? I could understand one but two? I must be really desperate for some action. Guess it's possible to like two guys at one time. My life is quickly becoming complicated again.' She opened the door to find him standing with his eyes closed as if in deep thought. She slid the door shut trying not to make any noise.
His eyes snapped open, "Kagome, are you ready?"
"I guess, try to be gentle. I'm very fragile." She meant it as a joke but a strange emotion crossed his eyes. He was wearing the same clothes he had on earlier. Leaving his arms and a good portion of his chest open for her viewing pleasure. 'Stop staring girl. How are you going to learn to fight if you can't take your eyes off the goods.'
"First we will start with defense. Defense is more important." He waved her over and wondered why she bothered wearing them shorts. They were very short showing almost all her legs. He couldn't wait to get a glimpse of her ass. She walked up to him trying her best to keep her mind on the matter at hand. Kurama saw her look of determination and decided to try to give her what she wanted.
The next hour he spent teaching her the basics of blocking. She got it down but what worried him was she did appear to be fragile. Against a normal she might be able to handle herself. If a demon were to hit her full force even blocking she'd substain sever injury. He would have to inform Hiei of the fact that their little miko was very fragile in heart and in body. He chuckled at the thought and wondered when he began to think of her as theirs. He decided maybe dodging would be best option.
Kagome watched as he walked back and drew a rose out of his hair. He transformed it into some kind of whip and stood there.
"We will work on your dodging. Don't worry I will not hit you."
"Okay," She was sure those thorns wouldn't feel to good if it hit.
"I will slowly bring it down and when I do I want you to quickly move out of its path." Kurama brought the whip down to her right and she quickly moved to the left out of harms way. For ten minutes he brought it down and she avoided the whip everytime. "Very good. Now I will pick up the speed some." Fifteen minutes later he was impressed at her speed. She was very agile for a human female. He picked his speed up another notch.
Kagome was concentrating on the whips movements. She was about to ask for a break when he brought the whip down again. She watched it descend and then a bright flash filled her vision temporarily stunning her. Somewhere in the back of her mind she felt a sharp searing pain across her leg but everything went black.
Kurama brought his whip down expecting her to dodge once again. He saw her watching the movements as it fell but when she should of dodged she stayed put. He tried to pull back at the last second but it was too late. The tip of his whip landed across her thigh causing a lash across the delicate skin. He dropped his whip to the ground and ran to her. She fell to the floor before he could reach her. He reached out for her and his palm was burned within inches. "Genki," he yelled at the top of his lungs.
He heard the others rushing in and the door sliding open. Genki saw the girl lying on the floor with a strange light emitting from her body. "Anyone with demon blood might want to stand back." Said persons backed off. "Kurama step away from her." The red head didn't move feeling it was his fault. "Now, unless you want the girl to accidently kill you. Do you want to have that on her conscience."
He stood up backing away only a few feet. Genki stood over the girl, "Kuwabara, pick the girl up and go lay her on the bed."
"What? I don't want to be purified."
"You are human don't be an idiot." She gave him her best glare which sent him into action. He picked the girl up, if he had a stick Genki was sure he would have poked the girl first to make sure it was safe. "The rest of you can scatter. Keiko come in the room with me."
Kurama stood there as they took her out to tend to her. He felt Hiei behind him and knew he was about to be questioned.
"What happened?"
"I'm not sure. She just froze all of a sudden and collapsed." He sat down feeling guilty for causing her an injury.
"Don't stress yourself. I doubt it was your doing. Next time pay better attention so you don't wound her in the process." Hiei could smell her blood in the air. He knew the fox would never hurt her intentionaly.
Kagome saw a black mist before her eyes. It was almost like dreaming but she was awake. She couldn't move her body or speak. She heard them talking and felt herself being carried. Her eyelids were still open but she couldn't see. The bed met her back and images began to fill the black mist. Inuyasha was there fighting with Naraku, it was their last battle. She watched Naraku be destroyed once more. She watched as everyone was overjoyed that the battle was over. She saw herself run up to the hanyou and hug him. There something was behind the tree. A figure was watching them, a young boy. No wait, it was Byakuya, the last offspring Naraku had created. One that had greatly resembled himself. She tried to call out to herself and her friends. He was getting away. In the moment of being glad that Naraku was dead they had let one of his offsprings leave. The mist began to swirl once more and this time she saw him as an adult sitting on a chair. Another where he was standing on hill looking at her family shrine. The mist began to clear and she was looking in old Genki's worried face.
Her voice was once again working, "Kouga. Please get Kouga. I need to tell him something hurry." Keiko ran out to summon the wolf demon that was waiting outside with the rest.
Within a minute he was at the bedside holding her hands. "Kagome, I'm glad you called to me in your time of need."
"Shut up you bonehead and listen. I need you to find Sesshomaru. It's Byakuya, we never found him. He was there when we killed Naraku. We didn't stop to think about him being left alive. I saw him, he was at the shrine."
"Are you sure?" He stood up knowing exactly where to find him. At her nod he went outside asking the wind demon for a lift, who complied. He would bring Sesshomaru here so Kagome could tell him what she'd seen.
Genki was healing the wound on the girl's leg. It had been a little more than a scratch healing within minutes. She knew the fox would want to see the girl. "You should rest for awhile." She cleared the room leaving the girl alone. Kurama and Hiei were standing near the door. She looked at him, "You can go apologize if you want but don't stay too long she should get some rest."
Kurama nodded and turned to look at Hiei who merely shrugged and walked off. He knocked on the door and heard her call, "Yes?"
"Its Kurama, may I come in." He entered when she gave permission. She was sitting up on the bed running her fingers through her hair. He sat on the bed beside her facing her. "Are you okay?"
"I'm fine." She smiled at him and cursed the butterflies doing the momba in her stomach. Her cheeks turned red when he grabbed her hand.
"I'm sorry I injured you when I promised I wouldn't." He squeezed her hand enjoying the feel of it in his.
"No biggie really I'm fine. It was partly my fault." His touch was doing funny things to her insides. 'Get ahold of yourself Kagome.'
He reached up and tucked a stray piece of hair behind her ear. His hand landed on her face caressing her cheek. 'Now hes freaking me out. Please don't tell me he's hitting on me too.'
Kurama ran his fingers over her soft skin and heard her sharp intake of breath. He leaned forward and placed a light kiss across her mouth. She closed her eyes at the contact, it sent a chill down her spine almost similiar to the one she felt with Hiei. She felt herself leaning into the kiss. He opened his mouth running his tongue along her lips. She opened her mouth, sliding her tongue up to meet his. He felt her respond and deepened the kiss running his hand to grab the back of her neck. He could smell her arousal. His demonic side wanted to lay her down on the bed and take her. Her hand rose up land on his back. He felt himself grow harder when she began running her nails lightly up and down his back. He pulled away from her, "Get some rest, Kagome."
He saw the question in her eyes and the rejection. He wanted her to know that he wasn't rejecting her, "I have to leave, if not I'm afraid I'll take it futher than you are ready to go." He got up and walked out the room.
'Did he mean what I think he did? Did Kurama really want her that way?' The kiss had left her shaken. She layed back down on the bed. Then it hit her she had kissed Kurama after kissing Hiei. She couldn't bring herself to regret either action.
