Chapter 7
“Inuyasha?” She reached her arms up toward where his ears would normally be, she gasped when she just felt soft silky hair instead. Her heart started to race a mile a minute, then her eyes started to focus on the golden eyes that were staring back. “Where’s Inuyasha?” She squeaked.
“I am right here love, calm down.” He reached over to grab her hand off Sesshoumaru’s head.
“This Sesshoumaru will not harm you little miko.”
I felt him stare down at me with an intense gaze; I grabbed Inuyasha’s hand tighter.
“I need to look at your shoulder. Furthermore I need to know who did this.” Sesshoumaru stated.
“Kouga did this, I said NO but he didn’t stop!” She said softly, as tears started to form only to run down her cheek.
The stoic lord never said anything, and slowly lowered the robe off her shoulder and then stared down at the badly infected wound. “The reason your shoulder is badly infected is because your body is rejecting his claim towards you, his claim was strong and since he is dead I presume.” Turning his head and looking at Inuyasha.
“Yeah he’s dead!” Inuyasha growled.
Looking back down at Kagome Sesshoumaru calmly stated. “The only way you can heal yourself is if another male marks you as their mate. If you don’t do this in a weeks time you will die.” Sesshoumaru started sniffing the rest her body and stopped at her abdomen. He ignored his brother’s growls. “You are not carrying his pup.” Was all he said while getting off the ground only to walk back into the woods and disappeared.
“ I need to be alone.” She whispered.
Inuyasha was reluctant to leave her side. She slowly got up while letting go of his hand too make her way over by the lake. Her fever went down slightly but she was still feeling bad, and to top things off she needed to find a mate before the weeks end. She decided to stop pondering because she already knew the answer to her own question. When she gathered enough nerve, she slowly got up only to make her way towards Inuyasha. “Inuyasha?” May I have a word with you privately she asked.
“What is it?” As he grabbed her little hands, and walked away from the rest of the group.
They reached a patch of grass and plopped down Indian style, she came over and sat on his lap. He wrapped his arms around her. “What’s wrong Kagome?”
“As you heard I have to find a mate.” She hesitated. “I choose you, will you have me? I love you, I have always loved you from the minute I saw you, I knew.”
Inuyasha did not know what to say, and then he started growling. Kagome tensed up in his lap and did not understand the present situation.
Miroku knew he was on dangerous grounds coming over the secluded couple. He had made the mulch needed for Kagome’s shoulder. He mixed the Calendula flowers with some water and broke it down to a mulch paste. He stopped walking when he heard Inuyasha growl.
“Inuyasha!” The frightened monk spoke.
“Feh.” Was the hanyou’s only response?
“I have brought Kagome some medicine to put on her shoulder.”
“Leave it their monk and I will spare you your life.” Inuyasha chuckled for he knew he would never hurt his friend. However, he did not feel comfortable for that lecher touching her either. Miroku bowed in respect to his close friends, set the bowl down on the ground, and retreated towards Sango.
Inuyasha scooped up his soon to be mate and walked over where the mixture was left then he knelt down to pick the bowl up and started to smell it. With a satisfied look on his face, he returned too there present position. He carefully lifted his robe down off her shoulder and started to put the cold paste on her shoulder. She flinched as the cold paste was finally putting out the fire on her shoulder.
“Now where were we? Ah yes you asking me to be your mate.” He said with a big smile on his face. For he always wanted to be with her forever. “Kagome I love you and no other, I would be honored to be your life long mate.” He continued.
Kagome immediately got up and started hugging Inuyasha. “Thank you.”
Inuyasha was taken back by the hug. “ I don’t want to hurt you Kagome, I know what you’ve been through but this will be different I promise, I will only show you a loving and gentle way to make love.” He said to her while blushing.
“I know you will, I trust you with all my heart.” She said while cupping his face with her hands. “I will fight back the fear Kouga left me with, only to replace it with a higher power. The power of love.”
A/N I am sorry that I didn't update sooner... I never knew writing a story would be so complexed but none the less I am enjoing the experience.
