Chapter Eight
A/N: Hey guys thanks for the reviews. I've worked especially hard on this update. It would have been up soon, but the problem is that my computer I was working on crashed. Seeing it was the only one with internet access, I couldn't update, but the good thing was that I had saved it on the floppy before the crash. I added to it and am now updating at my neighbors, so lucky for you my neighbors love me. Well with all the hard work that went into this I hope that you enjoy it. Please R&R. EK!

Rin's face was like a theatrical production. Emotions skirting across her face in rapid succession. Relief, sadness, anger, and then finally contentment. She looked peaceful and angelic, almost fragile. Rin eventually met his eyes and instantaneously she broke out into a smile. Her cheeks appled and her lips spread wide allowing view to her gleaming white teeth. Her eyes lit with a dancing joy that warmed his heart. Pushing those thoughts aside, Sesshomaru nodded and turned to leave. But a tiny whisper made it to his ears upon his leave.
"I'm glad." That was all she said before the door once again closed and a strange feeling, he was unwilling to examine, spread through him.
Chapter Eight
This was it. Rin had been sailing on the Deadly Sea for the past two months, since their last harbor. Today Sesshomaru was actually taking her above and walking her around the ship. She'd asked him several times in previous months and finally now he agreed.
Rin stood in front of her full length looking glass and smoothed the ruffles of her gown. It was pink satin with deep cut in the neck exposing the tops of her breasts, and had quarter length sleeves. The skirts of the dress were full. The bodice was taut and the under stays of the gown pushed her already large bosom upward for a plumper image and revealed her lush creamy skin. Her shoes were pink satin slipper that had a cute little bow at the opening.
Rin was smiling at herself in the mirror when a light tapping at the door provoked her to turn, smile still intact. "Morning Sesshomaru." She dazzled him with an even brighter smile.
"Good morning Rin. Are you ready for our walk on deck?" When she nodded vigorously and swept with an elegant grace to the door, he opened it. He only agreed to let her out on to deck because it was becoming fairly obvious that she wouldn't let the situation drop and from what Sesshomaru had learned of her, she wasn't one to be held in captivity for long. He also loved the way he could make her so happy with the one little walk on deck.
The sun was high and the ship was alive with the sounds of working men and the first mate shouting out orders. The scenes Rin saw was nothing she hadn't seen before. Laboring men, running about and carrying out orders and climbing to the crows nest. She loved the smells of the see and the sights around her. Sesshomaru had told her that he was taking her with him to his lands, but first they had to make several stops. She was glad to stay on the ship longer as long as she knew it wasn't going to be forever. He even promised to let her off the ship at one of the stops, with his supervision of course.
Rin stopped off to talk to a few members of the crew. Sesshomaru excused himself for a few minutes to look over some problems with Jaken. He watched out of the corner of his eye as she made her way over to Lee, the most reclusive burly men on the ship. He barely spoke to anyone and never paid attention to his surroundings, except when given orders.
Glancing over the pirates she saw he was coiling spare ropes. She leaned over a little more and realized that one rope was untwining and tapped him on the shoulder. He grunted and turned at the light touch.
"What?" His voice was gruff and disinterested. Rin was unfazed. She went on to point out the problem and cracked a joke. He laughed, not just laughed, but a deep throaty laugh with his head thrown back. He smiled and to the crews further astonishment began to talk to her.
Sesshomaru felt the need to smile, but curbed his urge and redirected his gaze to Jaken. She truly was special. How is it one small beautiful young woman could be so remarkable. She was like one large mystery that needed solving. Rin saw good were most saw bad, she even bared her own pending bleakness with a smile. When she was about to be sent to her father she grinned and was prepared to bare it, even though most girls would have attempted some escape. Rin most definitely had something about her.
Returning to her side, Sesshomaru noticed a barrel near by and motioned Rin to take a seat. Lee appeared to be reverting back to his reclusive self. Rin continued to chatter and Lee didn't have the chance to respond other than to 'uh huh' and 'ummm' at the appropriate times and laugh, which was more response than anyone had gotten from him. Sesshomaru stood by listening and looking out at the water.
A sudden cry brought the attention of the whole ship to the crow’s nest, where Mei Su, the cooks helper and night watchmen, was hanging by a rope over the edge. Rin let loose a loud scream and immediately her eyes flew to Sesshomaru. He watched a few moments then determined what was the best course of action.
"Cut the rope." Everyone stared at him as if he had lost his mind. With a sharp look at his crew the rope was cut. Rin paled as the young mans figure plummeted toward the deck. Wordlessly Sesshomaru caught him and a silence reigned over the ship. Sesshomaru set the boy down and then shouted out for everyone to go about their work.
Rin rushed forward and gave the boy the once over, there was a rather large gash from where the rope cut into his skin. She gasped and led the young man to the barrel she'd been seated on.
"Sesshomaru can you get me a bowl of water and a couple rags?" Now it was his turn to stare. Nobody had ever requested anything from, especially seeing he knew it wasn't something he could turn down. He kind of worked mechanically. Fetching water and then commanding rags.
Rin wiped the wound clean with the water and rag, then wrapped it with another rag and with another rag tied it and knotted it securely. "That should last a while. If you feel anymore pain or it starts to get puffy come and get me." She smiled and wiped her hands clean of the blood that seeped from the wound.
"Thanks. It's nice to have a real lady on board." Mei Su bowed deeply like a gentleman.
Sesshomaru watch the exchange and hid a smile. She was charming his whole crew. The next few weeks he'd let her live her life on board and off. She had a light about her that warmed him. He'd never felt so close to anyone. Not InuYasha, not his father, but Rin seemed to find her way into his heart. He wouldn't call it love because he doesn't know how to love, but maybe she could teach him.
********Elsewhere********
The dark cabin was lit by the mere dimmed lighting of a single flame in a lantern hanging above a large sycamore desk. A tall woman was hidden in the shadows, her long black hair shone in the soft light, the only visible part of her. She was staring at the man behind the desk, appraising his mood.
"What do we know?" The deep voice boomed through the room. The woman jumped at the unexpected sound of his voice.
"Sesshomaru will be stopping off in this city two fortnights from now and his brother-" a catch in her voice caused a slight pause, "-his brother will be here a fortnight later." She glanced away and then waited a response.
"We will strike both brothers once they are both in the city the same time." When the woman looked ready to respond, he held up a hand. "I know that Captain Owasi will be coming after Sesshomaru. He also will be taken care of. He is mere human; he will not be a problem." The woman looked to say something, but upon opening her mouth she thought better of it and held her tongue.
The man went on to say what he would do in the time they needed to prepare. This war was a long time coming and it would be one no one would forget. Only one person would claim victory.
A knock at the door announced Mazumi's presence. Her dress was to mid-thigh and the neckline plunged deep showing off a large very generous amount of cleavage. Her long red hair spilled in curls over her uncovered shoulders. Her heavy make-up making it difficult to tell what her real face looked like.
She gave a pointed looked to the man behind the desk and turned to the woman. "You have a paying customer. He's in suite 7. He paid in full and he's asking for the whole night. You've got work to get to." With a flip of her flaming hair she exited the room.
The woman in the corner walked into the light. Her dark brown eyes filled with sadness and loathing, but her tone was like ice. "I have work to do. I'll keep you updated, Master." Then in the blink of an eye disappeared.
**********Captain Tsumiji**********
Captain Tsumiji sat behind his desk with a glass of scotch in one hand and a pistol in the other. He'd been drunk quite a bit lately. Ever since he left the island he met Sesshomaru on, he'd drank himself into a stupor. Every member of his crew had asked instructions and he'd given the same order, which they tried to change his mind from doing, follow Sesshomaru. He wouldn't attack until Sesshomaru docked. They knew they couldn't win a sea war with the pirate king, but on docks they might have a chance.
Tsumiji had gone over the meeting many times in his mind. He regretted not taking Sesshomaru's offer. He missed his daughter and now was going to take her back by force. She was all he had left and he would kill the son of a bitch to get her back.
The door was swung open, but before anyone could say anything, the pistol went off. Lucky was the person who walked in, that the captain was so drunk the shot was way off, hitting a lamp, which shattered, instead of the sailor.
Hiten jumped and clutched a hand to his chest. "Kami! It's just me captain. I came to inform you that we'll be docking in the next full cycle of the moon." The ship lurched and the bottle fell to the floor without breaking and rolled across the floor.
"KNOCK NEXT TIME!" The captain roared. "Now go." It was a small order, but Hiten had the sense to obey. Downing another drink Tsumiji's thoughts turned to the war to come.
'I'll get my Rin back. Then kill the insolent dog who stole her." With that thought he stood up to go topside and then with his first step, fell forward unconscious.
A/N: Well it's the longest chapter so far and I hope it was pleasing. I hope to receive at least ten reviews. Let me know what you think. Until next time.....Egyptian Kiss!
