Frightful Flight

Dev Dev: Sorry 'bout the grammatical errors. Most of the time when I run over my stories I'm in a hurry to update and do homework. See I have quite a predicament. My computer is a '95 and can't access the internet. I also don't have Microsoft word. I use wordpad, but that doesn't have spellcheck. I'm pretty much on my own and in a hurry. I save my updates on a floppy and update on my mom's gateway (if she let's me, which is rare) or use my neighbors. I'll try to go over my spelling more, but try to forgive minor oversites. Thanks for the review please keep R&R.

Previously

It took a moment before what happen registered with Kouga and when it did he looked ready to storm off after her. Inuyasha for once stepped forth and let forth an odd sound that seemed to be a growl. "Leave her wolf shit. She's mine." with that very possessive statement one Inuyasha bolted out after the fuming female. 'Did I just claim her as mine publicly? Damn must be losing it. The way she looks and feel against me it's just right. Now to find her and convince her of that too.'

Chapter Eight

Kagome bustled through the campus in a huff. 'The nerve of him. He thinks he can control me. I am not a pretty little item for him to put on display. And if I were, I sure as hell wouldn't be his. That cocky, overconfident, dense, deaf, womanizing JERK!' Kagome's mind was in such chaos that she barely paid attention to where she was going. She ran right into the three girls and one guy she hoped never to see again.

"Kagome it's nice to see you. How in the world have you been?" Eri was the first to assault Kagome with questions. She knew it wouldn't be long before they all began a pointless conversation and the one thing she feared it would lead upto and that would be a date with Hojo.

"Oh I've been great. A little busy, but great and you?" despite that obvious disinterest in her tone Kagome's three nosy friends, Eri, Yuka, and Ayumi, kept talking. They went in every direction from hair to school. From summer to boyfriends and that is where their, obviously, what they thought to be sly, comment on Hojo came in to play. The boy had remained silent for quite sometime, unsure of whether to come into the conversation, but when he heard Kagome didn't have a boyfriend, he move in.

"Kagome. It's been a long time since me and you have had the pleasure of being out and about. What do you say we go out tonight? We can talk about old times and get a little closer." Hojo's sparkling perfect smile was set intact and he waited for a reply. He noticed Kagome fidget, but took it as she was simply anxious.

"I'd love to, but-" her sentence was cut off by Inuyasha who chose this time to appear. "She has a date with me." he cut in and finished for her. Her three friends started at his sudden appearance, slightly shocked. They gave him the once over and each of the girls had the stench of desire rolling off them in waves. The poor hanyou almost covered his nose. Their faces portrayed nothing, but friendliness, but being a inu hanyou, he could tell they wanted him. He stood a little taller with a slight smirk tugging at the corners of his mouth, but his attention slid to the young man next to him. He was pooring off a completely different emotion. His anger and jealously overpowered his usual happy go luck attitude and this made Inuyasha quirk a brow.

Kagome wasn't sure about the intense glare Hojo was giving Inuyasha. Playing along she looped her arm through Inu's and glazed at her friends with a small smile of relief, mostly. "Yeah sorry guys I have plans. Maybe we could all get together when I don't have a date. Sorry Hojo. Bye guys." Kagome tugged at the arm she had attached herself to and walked off toward her car in the student parking lot.

Inuyasha had looked down at the beauty by his side. She smiled benignly at her friends and gave Hojo a fake look of disappointment. Her voice sounded sincere and for those, without the ability to smell lies, it seemed true. He looked back at the man he had been glaring at and recieved a pensive look when he turned to leave with Kagome without so much as a goodbye. She was obviously in a hurry to get out of this awkward situation.

"Thanks Inuyasha. I wasn't sure what to tell them. You really covered for me." then as if it had just occurred to her she looked up. "Wait...why aren't you in class? I mean you are the student assistant." she was befuddled by the boy's sudden appearance, but had said nothing to her friends. 'Why wasn't he in class?' It was a retorical question she had asked herself not expecting a reply.

"Keh. I didn't feel like being there and I had, had the same idea as that guy over there. What was his name? Hobo? Anyway. Would you like to?" Kagome looked up at the blushing features of Inuyasha and played dumb. "Would I like to what?" she with held a smirk as the blush intensified. "Would you like to go out with me?" It reminded her of high school. A guy would ask the girl very shyly and she would say something Kagome willfully, said herself, "Yes, I would love to Inuyasha."

Inuyasha was beside himself with happiness. She had said yes. "Okay. Well I'll pick you up at seven tonight then?" she nodded and slipped him her number and address. He really was quite the hottie and she was turned on by him. Of course she was surprised he had asked her out, more for the fact that he gave off such an arrogant air. 'Looks can be decieving.' her mind mused as she and Inuyasha moved apart and headed in seperate directions.

Kagome got home from her classes at about four and slipped into a long hot shower. She had stopped by Sango, who was, yet again, on the couch surrounded by books. She relayed the events of the day and when she said she smacked Kouga, Sango actually looked up. She was shocked. Kagome was such a nice person. The only time she had ever seen, or heard of Kagome striking someone it was her cousin Kikyo at a family reunion. She was even more shocked that Kagome was actually going on a date she wasn't forced into. It had been a red letter day in Kagome's book.

After her scolding hot shower, Kagome climbed out and readied herself for her date with Inuyasha. She slipped on a black mini-skirt that reached mid to upper thigh with a bit of a flare to it. A beautiful golden top accompanied it. The top reached just were the skirt met her stomache. It tied up behind her neck and cut into a low V-neck. It shined liked leather and in the back it revealed quite a bit of skin. She put on some black heels and lipgloss. Her hair fell into loose curls around her and gave off a godess like appearance.

When she walked out of the room it was 6:56 and Sango looked up. The pencil she once held dropped from her hand and her mouth stood a gap. "Wow, Kags you look fantastic. Damn Inuyasha must be something. I've never seen you so provocative. Your gonna give the poor guy a heart attack." Sango then whistled making the already crimson girl a violent shade of blood red. She smiled at the compliment and snatched up her jacket. "Thanks Sango. Goodluck studying. Bye. I'll be back later." just as she finished her sentence there was a knock at the door. Kagome was a miko and was good at sensing things. Sango gave her one last wink as her friend walked out the door.

A/N: Sucky place to leave off I know, but think of it this way. If I leave it here tomorrow you all get a chapter that has some zest to it. I'll let one thing slip though for those of you who want me dead right now. Everything starts fine, but what happens when someone unexpected and unwanted, known by both people shows up!
