Chapter eight, Revelations.

InuYasha opened his eyes and looked straight into two very familiar brown ones. It took him less
then a second to realize his roommate was wide awake and staring at him from her spot on the
bed. His blood instantly froze over in fear, but his instincts took over. He found himself recasting
the spell he’d just removed and jump back in the process. Maybe it was to protect himself from
the attack that never came or in shock mixed surprise to find her just looking at him. Either way,
he crashed right into a tall bookcase that was positioned next to the locked door.

The thing was ridiculously over stacked — so needless to say; all things and shelves came
crashing down on his head.

Kagome flew out of the bed and within a split second she was at his side, digging him out from
underneath the rubble. “InuYasha?” she called softly as she removed the last book which was in
between his fussy ears. “Are you okay?”

InuYasha sat up, running a hand through his hair and groaned. ‘Hang on a second here!’ His
mind screamed, something was wrong. His hands had claws, and his . . . ! ‘Oh dear Gods. The
spell must have broken when I flew into the bookcase.’
He stared wide eyed at the girl who sat
crouched beside him. Her eyes were reflecting concern and kindness. There was no trace of
hatred or disgust. Did I hit my head that hard?’

“InuYasha!” There was a loud bang on the door and Sango’s voice could be heard. “Get away
from her!” The roommates just stared at each other, neither saying anything. There was another
bang, “I will kick your sorry ass, if you don’t open this door within five seconds!”

Kagome and InuYasha could hear Sango start counting and a worried Miroku trying to hush his
girlfriend. They hurried off the floor, and the hanyou recast the spell again – this time making
sure it wouldn’t fall by the first knock on the head. He threw his roommate an uncertain look
before opening the door.

A very ticked Sango stormed into the room, grabbing her friend by the shoulder. “Are you okay?
Did he hurt you?”

Kagome shook her head, “No. But I scared him, I think.” She motioned toward the broken
furniture. “I’m sorry.”

“Keh, she didn’t scare me.” InuYasha shot in before walking past Miroku and out the room. The
fact was he had indeed been so frightened his body now hurt as he tried to relax. His muscles had
tensed and so had every cell in him. He had been so sure his death was coming, that now when
he knew she’d seen him and hadn’t tried to harm him — he felt confused.

Inside the bedroom Sango was still questioning a torn girl. Kagome wanted desperately to be left
alone to think and ponder on what she had just seen. While another part wanted to tell her friend
everything.

“What was he doing in here anyway?” The fuming room owner spat out, she wanted to know
what had been going on but her friend kept quiet. But she knew she deserved that, because she
herself had kept Kagome in the dark about Ayame’s feelings for InuYasha.

“He came to apologize.” It was Miroku’s turn to speak, as he leaned against the doorway. “He
wanted to say he was sorry. Or so he told me.”

There was a silence among the three as they stood there in their own thoughts. But Sango was the
first to break it, “I think you should stay the night, Kag.”

Kagome shook her head, “Nah. I’ll be fine Sango. I just want to go home, shower and call my
Mama.” She knew it was late, but her mother had told her she could phone day or night — she
needed to hear some words of wisdom before trying to surrender to her sleep again.

“Okay Kag. I’ll walk you home.”

“No. I’ll do it.” InuYasha’s gruff voice interrupted, as he showed up from nowhere and pushed
himself back into the room. He picked Kagome’s dress off the bed and took his roommate in the
other. He could feel how she intertwined her fingers with his, which confused him immensely.
The hanyou still couldn’t understand why he was still alive, why she hadn’t killed him yet. Why
had she looked at him with sweet and caring eyes, instead of horror or contempt?

His thoughts where knocked right out of his head when he heard Sango questioning her friend
with worried comments like, “Kag, are you sure?” And, “Wouldn’t you rather allow us to walk
you home?”

Keh, what does she think I am? A serial rapist?!’

He was about to say something when Kagome hushed her friend with a smile, “It’s okay Sango.
Really, I’ll be fine. InuYasha lives there too and he will protect me.”

After a few minutes of just arguing what was best for the girl, Sango finally caved in. But not
before she gave InuYasha a piece of her mind. “If you hurt her, I swear I’ll hunt you down and
have you for breakfast.” The half-demon quirked an eyebrow at her before following Kagome out
of the room.

It was right past eleven p.m. when Kagome and InuYasha walked into their apartment. They had
not spoken a word to each other since they left, and their hand holding had broken the moment
Kagome gave her friend a good night hug. So there they were, standing in the darkness of their
small hallway, taking their shoes off.

“Why didn’t you purify me?” InuYasha was the one to break the tension that had settled
between them. He wanted to know, because he was certain she had seen what he was. When she
didn’t answer he continued, “I thought every priestess had an obligation to take out any half-breed.”

Kagome was so stunned by his first question she was now sitting on the floor. What was he
asking her? Why did he think she wanted to hurt him? But when he asked the other, her
confusion turned into anger. Was he assuming just because she had a shrine upbringing she was
a killer? She stood up and flipped on the hallway light, so she could look straight into his eyes.

“For Pete’s sake! What are you, stuck in the Feudal era? I don’t know where you got your ideas
from, mister. But I can tell you this; priestesses aren’t trained in that manner any longer. It’s
more of a tradition or for family honor than anything else. I was taught to see the goodness in
every person, not run around kicking demon butts just because I know what I know.”

She paused when his golden eyes were so wide that she was scared he wasn’t following her.

InuYasha stared at Kagome in disbelief. He knew this girl was incapable of lying. And he also
knew that Kikyou, who was the one to feed him this information, was a compulsive liar. But in
her own twisted way, his ex girlfriend had been honest. She didn’t like demons and half . . .

                                 &#

His thts wts were cut short when he heard her sigh. “I’m going to go sleep. Good night
InuYasha.”

And with that he saw her walk down the hallway and into her room, shutting the door behind
her. InuYasha didn’t know what to think or how to feel, it was impossible for him to focus. So he
did what he wanted the most right now, cut the light off and crawl in between the covers.

The next morning Kagome was surprised to find the kitchen empty when she awoke. There was
no sign of her roommate and no sound was coming from his room. She shrugged and made
herself some tea.

She spent her morning reading the newspaper, fixing some homemade snacks and scribble down
reminder notes. Miroku still needed to come over and fix her computer, she needed to buy a
birthday present for Rin’s boy and she really needed a new bathing suite. Around noon, Kagome
started to get worrieherehere was still no sign of InuYasha and her mind started to create worst
case scenarios. What if he was hurt in his room? She shook her head, no he was strong enough to
protect himself against attacks. But what if he was sick?

With that thought she gathered enough courage to walk up to his room door. Knocking softly she
waited. There was no answer. “InuYasha?” She called, knocking a bit louder. Absolute silence.
Twisting the handle, Kagome ent the the dark room. “InuYasha? Are you in here?”

Reaching for the light switch, she quickly lit up the bedroom. Her eyes widened slightly when she
saw him on the bed. He had crawled up in a small ball, hugging his legs against his chest. Dressed
only in black PJ bottoms and nothing else, Kagome had to swallow hard before finding her voice
again. “Are you okay?”

“No.” He groaned out, “Now leave me alone.”

But Kagome would do no such thing, she walked across the room and sat next to him on the bed.
“Talk to me?” Hesitantly she reached out and placed a hand on his naked shoulder. She felt him
jerk at her touch. “What’s wrong InuYasha?&#;

“You wouldn’t understand.” Gods how he wished, she would just leave. Although, parts of him
wanted her to stay and guide him. He was so lost in himself. Kagome was the first except his
own family and Miroku that had accepted his hanyou looks. And atop of that she was a priestess.
It had taken him until the early hours of the morning to fall asleep. His mind had spun around
and around, like the wheel on a wagon.

“Try me.” She said softly, bringing him back to reality.

“Doesn’t it scare you?” He asked her, pressing his face into the pillow.

She was confused, what did he mean? “What?”

“THIS!” He yelled, yanking himself up into a sitting position he flexed his claws in front of her.

Kagome flinched; not at his appearance, but by the way he spoke. Why was he so mad? Had she
done something? “No.” She replied in earnest. “Do you want me to be scared?”

“Huh?” InuYasha was dumbstruck at her question. He stared at her with his golden eyes,
searching her wonderful brown ones for anything. Then it hit him, he really wanted her to react
badly. Everyone else did. Everyone else hated him and his kind. He shook his head, “Why aren’t
you?”

The girl placed a hand on his shoulder again, smiling. “For me, demons, half and human are the
same. We’re all unique and special in our own way. Besides, I already knew what you were from
the moment I laid my eyes upon you.”

InuYasha stared at her while tilting his head owlishly. “How did you know?”

His roommate started to laugh softly, “My gratheather taught me this identification spell. He
always said it would come in handy one day, even though I refused to believe him at the time. It
took forever to master it.”

“So you don’t mind this, at all?” Allowing his spell to drop completely he sat before her in his
normal form. He noticed the way her hands clasped and unclasped as she stared at his ears,
shaking her head.

He tipped his head forward, feeling a bit nervous but . . . safe. “Go ahR”

Kagome adverted her eyes down to his looking surprised. How did he know she wanted to touch
them? However, she found herself not caring how, when he grabbed her hand and put it on one
of his fussy ear.

“Oh, how soft!” She exclaimed as she rubbed it between her thumb and forefinger. Kagome had
never felt anythinge ite it before; smooth as silk and warmer then her cat Buyo’s. She felt him
lean into her hand when she rubbed the backside, running her nails against its surface.

InuYasha was in heaven, he let out a low growl when she started to use her nails. “That feels
good.” He pointed out as he closed his eyes. The only person who had touched him like this
before was Rin. But their caress was so different, it was hard to compare. His breathe hitched a
notch when she put her palm on a sweet spot he didn’t know he had. ‘Oh Gods,’ he thought
moving away. ‘That felt way too good.’

Kagome was slightly disappointed when he lifted his head out of her hand. She blushed a little
when their eyes met. Up til now they had been oblivious to how close they sat, and the fact that
they were still on his bed. Kagome chewed on her bottom lip, not knowing what to say. She
noticed how his golden eyes flickered down to her mouth. He leaned in closer, ‘oh gods, he’s
going to kiss me!’

InuYasha wasn’t sure what he was doing. But when he saw her stick her dark-pink lip between
her teeth he couldn’t help but want to taste her. Subconsciously he tilted forward . . .

A loud knock on the front door cracked the silence. The two roommates jumped apart, staring at
each other.

“I’ll get it.” Kagome offered, bouncing off the bed and out the door. Her heart was slamming
against her rib cage. She tried hard to fight down the blush on her cheeks before opening the
door.

“Delivery for a Mr. Watanabe.” It was a middle-aged man wearing an UPS uniform. He smiled
warmly at her, handing her a pen and a paper to sign.

“Um, I am his roommate. Is it okay that I put my name on it?” The man nodded, turning to push
a huge package to the door. Kagome scrid dod down her initials and gave it back to him.

“Have a good day.” He turned and left, leaving the raven haired girl to just stare at the box.

“I can’t pick that up,” She whined to herself.

“Keh, you don’t have to.”

Kagome almost jumped out of her skin when she heard his voice from right behind her. She
turned and saw him standing now dressed in a white Tee-shirt and dark-blue jean. How he
dressed that fast was beyond her. She moved aside so he could get his package.

“What’s in it?” She asked curiously. Her eyes widened when she saw him take the box and lift it
like its weight was a feather.

“A computer.” He disappeared down into his room, but left the door open.

Kagome followed a few minutes later, unsure if she could. Peeking inside she saw InuYasha
sitting on the floor. The box was already ripped into pieces and a red computer tower was
standing next to him as he untwined some cables. “Need help?” She asked softly, knowing
perfectly well she was clueless when it came to those things.

InuYasha turned and smiled. “I’ll be okay, thanks for asking though.” He had recast the spell
before walking to get the thing in the hallway.

“Okay, but if you need me, I’m . . . um, around here somewhere.” She turned to leave but
stopped halfway. “Oh, and please don’t hide yourself when we’re alone.” With that said, she
walked out of the room and into her own.

The hanyou felt warm to the core at her words. As he relaxed, a single thought was in his mind,
home. Indeed it had only been with Rin and Sesshoumaru he had felt this . . . comfortable. But
now, with Kagome, the word got a new meaning. His smile grew as he continued setting up his
little project.

That night they watched their horror movie marathon together. As they parted in the early
morning hours for some much needed sleep, they shared a hug. The next day Sango, Miroku and
Ayame joined them for lunch — and the five laid a foundation for an unbreakable friendship.

Soon thirty days had past and it was the night before InuYasha and Kagome would depart for
Yukio’s birthday party. They had made plans with Rin to show up around noon the following
day, and stay the week out.

Needless to say the roommates had not shared any more intimate moments. In fact, they had not
even spoken a word about it to anyone nor each other. But all the same, their unique bond
deepened through the month and they actually started enjoying the others’ company.

So there they were. Tuesday night and watching tv. Kagome had gotten Miroku to fix her
computer, bought a bathing suite and went with InuYasha to buy a birthday gift. They had put
their money together and gotten the little rascal an X-box.

They had decided to leave around six in the morning, since it was a five-hour drive. So most of
their day had gone to packing, making snacks to nibble on during the drive and making sure
nothing would spoil in their refrigerator while they were gone. Kagome and InuYasha quickly
realized how much fun they had together while doing normal chores like cooking, cleaning and
shopping.

“So we suggest you pack an umbrella if you’re heading out tomorrow. The storm . . . ” The
meteorologist on the news spoke. It was a summer thunderstorm warning, it was going to be
quiet a rainy day.

But the roommates could care less, they were going to spend most of the morning inside a car.
And by the time they past the city borders they would leave the bad weather behind them.

InuYasha picked up the remote and started flipping the channels. He stopped on a movie he’d
seen many years ago, but wouldn’t mind watching again. It had been playing arouaround ten
minutes, so he knew he hadn’t missed much.

The wall clock displayed ten minutes past nine, and Kagome was already half asleep next to him
on the couch. She had wrapped her small form up in a blanket and rested her head on the
armrest. He could see how her eyes kept closing and opening like she refused to give in to fall
asleep just yet.

He turned his attention back to the tv and kept watching the movie. When it ended he could hear
his roommate snooze lightly. InuYasha didn’t hesitate when he got out from his spot and walked
over to the sleeping girl, picking her up. She snuggled close to him, wrapping her arms around his
neck. His attraction for her had not faded one bit, but instead only grown deeper. Now he didn’t
question what he felt for her, he knew. What he didn’t know, however, was if she felt the same.
He really wanted to ask her out on a real date. But every time he’d tried, it had ended with
everyone in the gang going.

Walking into her bedroom he laid her gently on the bed, flipping her covers so he could tuck her
in. But as he was prepared to pull away and leave, she tightened her grip around him. InuYasha
blushed, trying to untangle himself from the beauty in his arms.

Kagome had somewhat awoken when he lifted her out of the couch. His strong arms around her
felt so good, she craved to deepen the protective embrace. Subconsciously she leaned up and
tugged him toward her. But she snapped her eyes open when she felt him try and pull away.

Their eyes met, both inhaling a quick breath. Noses touched, and now it was too late in the
evening for any interruptions. Their breathing mingled, Kagome still had her arms around his
neck. Now it was her time to want to taste him, which she did hesitantly. Pulling him closer she
brushed her lips against his. InuYasha jerked back at the touch, staring wide eyed at the girl in
front of him. He noticed the deep blush on her cheeks and realized she was waiting for him to
react. And respond he did, tipping his head forward he kissed her fully on the lips.

Oh Gods,’ was all Kagome could think, when he pressed his lips to hers. They melted together,
her fingers now in his hair and his against her rib cage. Their hearts beat frantically at the sudden
intimacy. They broke apart, unsure if the other would want to deepen the contact.

“W-what does this mean?” Kagome whispered into the room, looking up at him as he still
hovered over her.

InuYasha knew what it meant for him, but he couldn’t answer truthfully until she told him how
she felt. So he asked her something he needed to know, “Kagome, do you . . . like me?”

Kagome blushed profoundly, but nodded. She still looked up at him, as he gave her a genuine
smile.

“Then this means, I have to ask you out princess.”

The girl gapped visibly, ‘is he asking me out on a date?’

As if he had read her thought his smile grew. “Yeah, do you want to go out on a date with me -
just you and me?” InuYasha didn’t know where he got the courage to do what he did, but it felt
right and good inside. He noticed how she returned his smile, but still blushed.

“I’d l-love to.”

InuYasha’s heart leaped in happiness. He leaned in closer and placed a kiss on her cheek.
Tomorrow they would be on the way to Yukio’s birthday party, but then there would be four
days of open opportunities to have their date, and he was determined to make it perfect.

To be continued.

Author note at bottom this time :)

I have been sick, :( really sick. I am still not well, but I’ll try and work on the next chapter while I
blow my nose and cough.

The reason why this chapter took so long to get out has also to do with someone trying to steal
my entire plot. No, I am not kidding. It was on Adult Fan fiction and someone decided my story
was so....good? Or something, that they took every single detail in it. I know we don’t really have
copyright on our work since we do “Fan fictions” but seriously, when someone sits and takes
your work just like that it ticks you off. Right?

Thankfully that story is gone, and I believe the author will write something original next time
instead of stealing from others. ( I was prepared to fight with tooth and nail for my work, I might
want to point that out )

Also, a question I’ve gotten many of times; Are you a Kouga hater?

Lol, here is my answer: Hell no! Kouga rocks :). InuYasha vs. Kouga fights are so damn
awesome. I love when those two argue, it’s just hilarious. Without the wolf, we would still be
asking ourselves if the half-demon liked Kagome or not. It’s clear that InuYasha would do
anything to keep Kouga as far away from -his- Kagome as possible. :)

Although, I wish Kagld sld stop “sitting” Inu whenever Kouga is around. Doesn’t she know
that boosts the wolfs interest? :p Oh well :)

Keep reviewing, I enjoy reading your comments. Oh and one more thing before I go. Some
people put my grammar and spelling down. Well *laughs* I am not American nor English. Even
if I today live in the US doesn’t mean I know squat about the language :P It’s not my native
tongue.

That’s it from little me. Thanks a bunches! For the reviews I’ve gotten so far! Close to 200! In
total O.o amazzzziiiiiiiiiing !

Leafe-chan.
