CHAPTER EIGHT — A NEW COUPLE—

Tina moved to kagome’s time and became a professional internal designer, while her sister kisa married kohru and set up a monastery for lost souls in the east. Mirouku and sango went back to his old town to live. Meanwhile it was a beautiful day and maru was walking alone in the forest. She spotted a nice row of lilies surrounded by a grove of trees and she leadowndown to take a closer look. As she bent down to smell the flower a snake demon slithered out of the bushes. She was scared but did not show it. “ are you the offssssspring of inuyasha?” it said in a hiss. “Yeah ws its it to you” she said pulling out her sword. She never used her sword before so she couldn’t bring out it’s full potential. “ then you shall die!”it siad. Without warning the demon grabbed her around the waist with it’s body and began to squeeze her. she screamed as hard as she could for help.
Meanwhile next to inuyasha’s house seth was asking inuyasha for his daughters hand. “Yes I suppose you would make a grate couple” said kagome in a cheery tone.” well ok if you want her go a head you have my blessing” said inuyasha” but if she’s not happy I’m gonna come after you and wring your neck” with a little promise in his voice, he meant it. All of the sudden seth twitched his ears “ did you hear that?” he asked them. Inuyasha bolted up and withdrew his sword “she’s in trouble”.”what? who? said kagome.”no time just get on my back and I’ll take you there” said inuyasha. Kagome hopped on inuyasha’s back and all three of them ran towards the screaming maru.
She was hacking away at the beast but her sword wouldn’t penetrate it’s rock hard skin. It threw her into a nearby tree and she blacked out. When she came to her father and seth were battling the beast and were failing miserably. She tried to get up when she heard her mothers voice “don’t get up you’re badly injured, stay still and let you’re wounds heal” said kagome. “But father needs my help” said maru. And with that she gave one good shove and was back on her feet. “Lay down!” screamed inuyasha “you need to rest we can handle the demon”. “no father I want to help” siad maru. Using her miko powers kagome caused maru’s body to give way and she slumped down to the ground.”your as stubborn as your father now get over here so I can tend to your wounds” said kagome. maru gave in and started to drag her injured body towards kagome. when she reached her mother she turned to see her father slam into the tree next to them. He was knocked unconscious. Seth was thrown to the ground but not before doing much damage to the demon he too was knocked unconscious. The demon slithered up to maru and kagome” well isssn’t that nice two for the price of one” it said in a triumphant hiss. It brought up it’s poisoned tail and thrust it towards maru.
Before the demons tail hit seth got in the way and took poisoned tail full force. He writhed in pain before maru’s eyes. “Noooo” she said and something hit her she felt this sudden surge of power. She stood up and slowly faced the beast. “her eyes” said kagome “she’s gone youkia”. Hearing this her father got up and moved kagome to a safer spot. “Let’s hope she transforms back before she kills us too. “Your going to die demon” her voice came out raspy and distant as she lunged at the demons neck. with one mighty swipe of her fist she cut it’s head into pieces. Blood showered over her. she turned to her father and mother. Slowly she started to walk towards them her claws drawn ready to strike. She walked past seth’s dying body and right up to her helpless parents. But she didn’t even get a chance to strike when sesshoumaru shifted past her and with one precise blow and knocked her out. He ran to his son’s side rin following close behind. They picked up there dying child and he howled in pain.
As they turned to leave they were surrounded by a bright light. They turned around to see a girl about the age of sixteen walk threw the bushes. She was causing the light. “Put the child down” said the voice. “Why, what do you want him for?” said sesshoumaru. The figure stepped out of the light and they all gasped in shock. It was seth’s twin sister. “Mary is it really you” said rin as she ran up to hug her daughter. They hugged for a second and mary said” yes the sword you buried me with brought me to life and blessed me with it’s powers. She walked over to seth and waved a shining hand over his body. All of the wounds closed up and the poison dissipated. Sesshoumaru was the next one to hug her “ my beautiful daughter “ he said as he hugged both of his children “ I’m glad you’re alive and well”. Rin spoke next “where have you been all these years?”. Mary explained how she fell through the roof of a under ground river and how the sword(tenseiga) had plunged itself into her and because it can’t kill but resurect it gave her it’s powers. She told them that she was taken in by a friend who knew her father .”who was this friend of mine?” interrupted sesshoumaru. “ it was a toad demon named jakken” she said to him.
Just then jakken stepped out of the bushes “lord sesshoumaru I’ve fond you at last” he hobbled over to his former master. “Jakken you old toad, meet my family” siad sesshoumaru. “Princess rin you are sesshoumaru’s bride?” said jakken in shock. “ yep and don’t you forget it” she said as she bent down picked him up and kissed him on the forehead “I haven’t seen you in ages” she said. When she finally put him down he told them that he had to return home to take care of his own family. They all said there goodbyes and he left. They all went down to the village to celebrate mary’s return. Maru and seth were hugging each other tenderly by the fire. While mary rin and sesshoumaru explained each others lives. “I’t t’t trust that girl one bit” said seth “nor do I”maru replied. they all decide it was time for them to go to bed so they left for their huts and slept.
