began to rise. The sunlight found its way through her curtains and shined on
her face. Kagome squeezed her eyes shut and winced against the sunlight. She
rolled over to her left but hit something hard. She moved her hand across the
surface of it. That feels familiar.

Kagome
quickly moved away from him and snatched her blankets up, covering her chest.
He gave her a curious look and laughed. Kagome looked down below thenketnket
and sighed in relief as she realized she still had all of her clothes on, as
did Kouga. She smiled at him mischievously and crawled towards him above the
covers. He reached for her and pulled her onto his outstretched legs. She
wit
with her back against his hard chest. She leaned her head into the crook of his
neck and sighed in relief.
“Kouga
what’re you doing here?”
“I
woke up early,” he wrapped his arms around her waist and nuzzled her neck, “and
I got lonely, so I came in here.”
“And
you just sat there?”
“Mmhmm”
“Watching
me sleep?”
“Mmhmm”
Kagome
shrugged and turned her head towards him. He caught her chin in his hand and
lifted her face to his warm lips. Their lips touched and Kagome
something broke her window open.

In
Riquo’s room, silence dominated the scene. The only sound that could be heard,
with demon es tes that is, was light, even breathing. Riquo lay in a mess of
sheets, sweat glistening over her body. Her tail swayed back and forth across
the bed as she began to wake up. She fluttered her eyes open and yawned, stretching.
She froze as several realizations hit her. Ok…I’m
naked….I’m hot as hell…Inuyasha is next to me too….nake/i>T/i>Then she
remembered what happened last night and snickered to herself.
She glanced down at Inuyasha and bit her lip as excitement overtook her. She
looked at him again and smiled He looks
so peaceful when he’s asleep. She sat up and stretched again, only to be
yanked down again with her arms pinned a her her head on the pillow. Inuyasha
raised himself up on an elbow and looked down at her as she wed aed against
him.
“INUYASHA! What do you think you’re doing?! I’m tryin
st
stretch over here!!”
Inuyasha
snorted, “Remember what happened last time you innocently “stretched” and I was
next to you?”
“Eh
heh, oh yeah, forgot about thSorrSorry.” She kissed his nose and snuggled
against his bare chest. She closed her eyes and was about to drift into sleep
when she heard him sigh. In the short time she’d known him, she’d never heard
him sigh, which meant something was probably wrong. She scooted away from him a
little bit and looked up at his face. He looked upset about something.
looking at something beyond her and he had his forehead scrunched up in….pain?
Riquo reached up and stroked his face. He flinched away from her as if her
hands were on fire. She started to scoot away but he grabbed her hand again,
rubbing his face against her palm. Riquo cocked her head to the side.
“Inuyasha,
what’s wrong?”
He
stopped with her hand and closed his eyes fighting that mental battle again,
“Nothing, nothing’s wrong. I’m fine.”
Riquo
narrowed her eyes and snatched her hand away, “Bullshit! Don’t take me for an idiot
Inuyasha I think I know when something’s wrong! You won’t look me in the eye
and you flinch against my touch!” she inhaled slowly and exhaled, “what is
wrong, Inuyasha? Did I hurt you last night?”
and crossed his arms, looking away.
Riquo’s
face held an expression of sorrow. She crawled over to him and kneeled in front
of him, her head down.
“Please,
Inuyasha. I don’t like to see you like this. Just tell me what's wrong,
please?”
He
glanced sideways at her and lightly shook his head. He gathered her in his arms
and kissed her forehead. She looked up at him, waiting for him to say
something.
He
closed his eyes and concentrated on what he was about to say, “Riquo, don’t get
me wrong. I love you so much, and I have no regrets about last night, but…”
Riquo
spoke wearily, “But…”
“You’re
a demon. You’re rank is so much higher than mine and I know this and I know you
do too, whether you think about it or not. And since I’m a half demon, my rank
is lower than that of a damn human. I am not accepted on either side.
Riquo
gasped, “What are you talking about?! Inuyasha, I’ve neveard ard of anything
like that in my life! Sure demons and humans both persecute half demons, but
there is no penalty for loving or mating one! Who told you that?”
Inuyasha
swallowed, “Kikyo. She told me that when she and I were together,” Riquo winced
at that and Inuyasha held her closer to him, “she said if I turned into a demon,
she couldn’t be with me. If I stayed a half demon, both of us would die because
it was a crime to mar..marr…” he frowned in confusion.
Riquo
looked really confused, “What? What’re you trying to say?”
“It’s
the human term for mating I think. Theysomesomeg dig different though.”
“Oh…marriage. Yea, th wha what humans do. Boring
if you ask me.”
Inuyasha
nodded in agreement, “Anyway she said if her and I were to marry, her, a
priestess, and me, a half demon, we would be killed for it. That’s kind of how
she persuaded me into thinking that being a human was a better idea than being
a demon.”
Riquo
sighed. That bitch really messed up his
head. He actually thinks demons hate half-breeds that much.
“Inuyasha,
she was wrong, there is no law saying it’s a crime to marry—mate with the one
you love. It doesn’t matter what type they are, species, breed,
whatever. Demons value freewill amongst other ues,ues,” she sat up straight and
leaned her face against his face whispering, “and I don’t care about your demon
rank, I like you the way you are.”
She
kissed his neck and wrapped her arms around him, caressing his back lightly
with her nails. He hugged her to him and sniffed in her luscious scent. It was
at that moment that Riquo remembered that both of them were bare-ass naked and
she started to giggle. She crammed her face into his shoulder to try and muffle
it, but to no avail, he’d already heard her.
“So
what's so funny pussy cat?”
She
glared at him and was about to snap at him but was interrupted by the distant
sound of shouting.
Then
it got louder as someone ran down the hall they were on, “RIQUO! INUYASHA!
Kikyo’s soul seekers are here!”
Riquo
got off Inuyasha and jumped off the bed. She snatched up her wrappings and
whirled around, quickly dressing herself. Inuyasha grabbed his clothes and
began dressing as fast as he could.
“Show
off.”
Riquo
smirked at him then walked over to the window. She pulled aside the curtain and
winced as the sunlight hit her in the face. She shielded her eyes and looked
again. Sure enough, Kikyo’s soul seekers were flying outside the palace
windows.
Inuyasha
grabbed up saigsaiga, “Come on, we needget get going.”
Riquo
turned to walk towards him, and then turned around giving the window one last
glance. Inuyasha came up and grabbed her hand squeezing it.
“Nervous?”
She
snorted, “If I was, I wouldn’t tell anyone.”
They
walked out of her room, checking to make sure no one was there. When they got
to the door that led outside, Inuyasha let go of her hand. He glanced at her
nervously, hoping she didn’t take that the wrong way. She caught his gaze and
winked at him. The doors were opened and the others were out there waiting.
Riquo blinked a few times adjusting to the light. When her vision was cleared
she gasped and ran towards Kagome. Kagome was sitting on the grass with her
knees up to her chest and her arms around her knees. Her eyes were wide and she
was mumbling something incoherent. Sango was trying to calm her down and Miroku
was talking to Kouga. Kouga turned and sniffed as Riquo sped towards Kagome. He
looked confused, then sniffed in Inuyasha’s direction and gasped.
She
skidded on her knees in front of Kagome’s panicked form, “Kagome! Are you
alright?”
She
turned to Sango for an answer, “What the hell happened to her?!”
“Kouga
said a soul serpent broke through Kagome’s window. Scared the
mess out of her.”
Inuyasha
walked up, “Will she be ok? She doesn’t need to be on a battle field if she’s
in that kind of state.”
That
snapped Kagome out of it, “I’m fine, Inuyasha,” she stood up shakily and
grabbed Sango’s hand for a little support, “there is no way I’m going to miss a
chance to fight Naraku.”
She
bent down slowly to pick up her bow and arrows, “Ok then! Let’s get goinSangSango, is it okay if we ride Kilala?”
Sango
shook her head and petted the fire cat that was drooping over her shoulder,
“The laste she she carried all of us, minus Kouga and Riquo, and it really wore
her out. She still needs to rest some.”
“WELL
THEN HOW THE HELL ARE WE SUPPOSED TO GET THERE?!?!!”
Inuyasha seethed, “what’re we supposed to do walk? That’ll take days!
“Well
that’s just too damn bad Inuyasha! Unless you have the strength to carry 5
people on YOUR back I suggest you keep that mouth of yours shut!”
Inuyasha
and Sango got in each other’s faces; ready to bite the other ones head off at
the slightest comment. Riquo shared a bored look with Kouga and rolled her
eyes. Children.
She
walked up to the two squaring off and placed a hand on either of their
shoulders, “Don’t sweat it ok you two? I can get us there just as fast as
Kilala can.”
Miroku
stood next to her, “How can you do that Lady Riquo? Are you going to carry all
of us on your back?”
He
smiled that pervert smile and Riquo raised her hand warningly.
Kagome
asked her as well, “Ri, how are you going to do that?”
Riquo
turned and faced them all, “Kilala’s not the only one that can transform you
know.”
Kouga
was the only one who didn’t drop his jaw.
“Since
when can you transform?” Miroku asked.
“Um...always.”
“Can
you fly when you’re transformed?”
“No,
but my speed doesn’t diminish.”
Kouga
stepped forward, “Riquo do you think it’s a good idea? What if you lose it?
What if you get tired and can't fight?”
Riquo
waved her hand, “Don’t worry about it Kouga. I have control when I transform
and I’ve been training in that form. So I have endurance. Just relax ok? I’ll
be fine.”
Kouga
nodded, “Ok well you better give them a run-down before you do it.p>
“Right,”
she turned to all of them, “ok you guys, here’s the thing. I can’t talk in this
form but I can understand you. I can fit all of you on my back but you better
grab my fur tightly otherwise you’ll get thrown off. Any
questions?”
They
all shook their heads.
“Ok
then! Stand back.”
She
walked back a few feet and then stood still. Her eyes turned red and her body
started to radiate the same color. She threw her head back and roared,
engulfing herself in red. Inuyasha lurched forward but Kouga caught his arm.
“Leave
her Inuyasha.”
Inuyasha
relaxed then looked at Kouga, “Say wolf boy, why don’t you transform? Don’t
tell me you can't do it.”
“I
can. But I don’t have as much control as Riquo.”
The
light spread some more and then exploded. They shielded their eyes then looked
up as another roar sounded through the air. Right before their eyes stood Riquo
as an enormous cheetah. The only thing different about her in comparison to
some other cheetah were her eyes. They were still the same emerald green but
against a red background. They made her look insane. She shoerseerself and her
fur shined in the sun. The others couldn’t seem to find the right words to say.
Riquo stepped towards them, shaking the ground, and they all took a step back
in fear. She stopped and bowed her head. She lowered herself to her stomach and
laid her head down. Kouga walked over to her and patted her head. She closed
her demon eyes and purred, shaking the ground again.
Kouga
turned towards the rest of them, “She isn't going to hurt you. Come on,
standing there shaking in fear isn't going to get us to Naraku any faster.”
Inuyasha
took a sforwforward. Riquo stared at him and whimpered quietly. He got up the
nerve and walked to her, Kagome, Sango and Miroku trailing behind him. When he
got to her head, she rose up a bit and rubbed her head against his stomach. He
gave her a small smile and patted her on the head. He stepped aside as Kagome
came up to her.
“Wow!
This has to be the coolest thing I’ve ever seen you do Ri!”
she stroked one of Riquo’s tearstains.
Behind
her, Sango and Miroku walked over next to Kouga. Riquo stood and extended on of
her paws out in front of her.
Kagome
titled her head, “I think she wants us to get on.”
Miroku
and Sango walked up her arm and across her back. They sat down midway down her
back. Kouga patted her arm and helped Kagget get on before getting on as well.
Inuyasha got on and sat on her neck. Riquo turned her head towards them and bit
the fur on her shoulder.
“Does
that mean you want us to grab your fur?”
Riquo
roared in response. When everyone was clutching her fur tightly she took off
aftee ime impatient soul snatchers. She started off slow so they could get used
to it. Then she sped up and matched the speed of the soul snatcher. They ran
for miles, dodging trees and boulders. Riquo raised her head up and sniffed the
air. She looked to her right but kept running. Inuyasha and Kouga caught the
scent as well. Riquo was just going to ignore it and keep running but Kagome
went catatonic.
She
skidded to a stop as Kagome whispered, “Jewel shard.”
The
trees shook and a fox demon the size of Riquo’s cheetah form stood. It barked
at them and flashed its fangs. Riquo growled and inclined her back so her
passengers could slide of her head.
When
they gotthe the ground Kouga said, “We don’t have time for this!”
Kagome
looked around then gasped and pointed, “Look! The soul
serpents!”
The
soul serpents had flown around them and were now resting in a nearby tree.
“It
seems ’re ’re going to wait for us after all,” Miroku said.
“Good,
the jewel is in its forehead,” Kagome was about to string her bow when a tail
came in between her and her bow. She looked up to see Riquo shaking her head.
“You
want to fight him?”
Riquo
nodded and pushed them to her side with her back paw so they could watch.
Inuyasha Riquo “Inuyasha Inuyasha
sniffed the air and growled, “It’s a male.”

heard him and got on the defensive, growling viciously at the demon. The fox
demon barked at her and stood in his fighting stance. Riquo used her speed and
charged at the fox. She hit it with her shoulder pushing him back. Before the
fox could recover, Riquo sped towards its side and grabbed his neck in her
jaws. The fox yelped and shook its body as hard as it could. Riquo didn’t give
until the demon swatted at her chest, opening the skin in several places. Riquo
stumbled back and then fell as the fox demon tackled her. It made an attempt to
bite at her neck but she kicked him off of her. She stood up again and hissed
at him. The fox growled at her and puffed out his chest. Riquo snorted.
Riquo roared and stood on her hind legs to her full height. The fox demon
watched her with obvious fear in his eyes. Riquo came back down inches away
from the fox, shaking the ground around her. She lowered herself into a
fighting stance and snarled. She again charged at it and grabbed it by the
neck. She pinned the fox to the ground and put her paw on its muzzle.

ran forward with tetusaiga raised. He jumped up on Riquo’s large paw and
speared tetusaiga through the fox’s forehead. The jewel popped out and fell on
the ground next to them.
Kagome
ran forward grabbing the jewel with the others behind her, “Riquo that was so
awesome! You kicked that guy’s ass!”
Riquo
nodded and moaned. She sat on her haunches and straightened exposing her chest.
Blood dripped from the wound where she was scratched.
Inuyasha
walked in between her two front legs and patted her stomach right below the
wound, “Will you be ok? I don’t want you to—“
He
stopped and stared along with everyone else as her wounds began to mend. When
she was fully healed, Riquo bent her head down and took the back of Inuyasha’s
shirt in between her jaws, dragging him out from underneath her. She laughed in
her mind as Inuyasha had a fit but lifted her head as her ears perked up. The
soul snatchers had begun to fly around them again and by the looks of it they
were getting impatient. Riquo bent her head and let them all get on her back
again. She waited momentarily so they could hold on then took off.
She
sped up to catch the soul snatchers. They ran for about an hour before the soul
snatchers dispersed at the bottom of a wall. They flew up and the group saw
that they were at the bottom of a very tall cliff. Riquo looked over and bit
her shoulder again, signaling them to hang on tight.
They
did so and Riquo rose on her hind legs and dug her claws into the earth of the
cliff. She lifted her hind legs onto the wall as she began to climb. Halfway to
the top, Miroku tried to grope Sango. His hand was almost on her butt when one
of Riquo’s hind legs dug into the earth and he was bumped off.
Sango
whipped around and tried to reach for his hand but she was too late, “Miroku!”
Riquo
whipped her tail out and caught him in it, wrapping it around him.

top without any problems, except for Miroku’s complaints. When she was on level
ground, she laid down and let all of them off. She
released her hold on Miroku and walked off ahead of them. The others were about
to follow when Kouga stopped them.

too. Especially when I have to fight in that form.”
soul snatchers weaved themselves in and out of the group, pushing them towards
a palace in the distance. Riquo sniffed the air and growled. Naraku’s stench
was all over the place. So was Kanna’s, Kagura’s and…..Kikyo. Inuyasha tried to
ignore it but he latched onto her scent like a lifeline. Their scents led
straight to the front of the palace. The wind began to pick up and Kouga looked
up. He growled when he saw Kagura on the roof.

growled again and was about to say something but was stopped short as an arrow
shot over his head. He whipped around and saw Kikyo standing in a tree next to
the palace.
strung her bow again, “This time I won’t miss.”

saw a tiny mark on tetusaiga where an arrow must’ve hit it. It was directly in
front of Riquo’s heart. Riquo snarled pushing tetusaiga aside and walking past
Kouga.
“The
rest of you take care of Naraku, Kanna, and Kagura. I have a score to settle with
this priestess bitch,” she said not even giving them a glance.
Kikyo
laughed, “You naïve little fool. You think Inuyasha will let you kill me? He’s
been under my manipulation for years and not even you can break him from that.”
Riquo
cocked an eyebrow and laughed, “Really? You know, it’s a shame you don’t have
demon senses otherwise you’d know that I already have.”
Kikyo’s
eyes widened marginally, trying to keep her cool and failing. Her expression
kept changing back and forth between a blank expression and one of anger. Her
angry expression dominated as Inuyasha walked up to Riquo and put his arm
around her waist.
“Kikyo,
I’m sorry, but you’ve tortured me for too long. You need to rest in peace once
and for all. Goodbye.”
With
that he caught Riquo’s sight and squeezed her waist. He turned around and
walked towards the others.
“Kouga,
I assume you want to fight Kagura?”
“Damn
straigho:p>o:p>
Inuyasha
nodded, “Good, Kagome, you get Kanna since your arrows are the only thing that
can defeat her. Miroku, Sango and I will and and find Naraku.”
They
all nodded and went to their appropriate battlefield. Riquo turned back to
Kikyo and grinned with pure hatred in her eyes.
“You’re
mine.”
that would be a doozy! Next chappy is all action! Well…sorta…I really suck at writing
