Prompt Summary: Bankotsu and Jakotsu are met by the owner of the property.
Only an hour had passed from the time the two were closing their eyes until the point that they were being rudely awaken by the sound of approaching hooves. Quickly rising to their feet, the two made sure their guns were visible, though not drawn, so the rider would know they weren't trying to ambush him. “Who the hell are you and what are you doing on my property?” the rider demanded gruffly as he stopped a foot from the other side of the fence.
Noticing Bankotsu subtle cue for him to answer, Jakotsu did just that. “I'm an old friend of the man who lives here,” Jakotsu explained only to have the rider give him a look clearly asking if he expected him to believe that. “And we're not actually on your property. We're on the other side of the fence,” Jakotsu decided to throw in, not quite appreciating the dirty look he was getting from him.
“I am the man who lives here,” the rider insisted, both of them knowing he wasn't the man he was referring to without having to confirm his identity. “And actually you are. I recently purchased the piece of land just on the other side of this fence. We have not had it moved yet,” the rider countered and Jakotsu bit his tongue to stop himself from laughing at the irony. He had purposely camped on this side of the fence just to avoid trespassing.
Deciding to get this conversation moving along before the rider opted to get trigger happy, Jakotsu gave him a quick once over, finally taking some time to actually notice his features, and realized he actually did look a lot like the man he was looking for. “You know what, I'd bet my last 50 cent piece that the man I am looking for is your younger brother. You two look a lot a like,” Jakotsu insisted, startled by the strange, almost growl like sound the rider gave off after hearing it.
“Idiot,” the rider said under his breath, shaking his head in annoyance, presumably at his younger brother before turning his attention back to Jakotsu. “Wait right there. I will send him out to meet you.” Before either of them could respond, the rider had turned back around and was making his way back the way he had come only minutes before.
“You really think it's a good idea for us to be here? Doesn't seem like a very friendly place,” Bankotsu pointed out once the rider could no longer be seen and the two began gathering up their belongings so they would be ready to move; one way or the other.
“Oh yeah,” Jakotsu assured him with a smile. “My friend's a monk compared to that guy. They are nothing alike. Trust me.”
