Prompt Summary: Jakotsu explains to Bankotsu what was going on.
Only a few minutes after leaving the sheriff and the others behind, Jakotsu was pulling the horse over to the side so he could climb off and give Bankotsu the chance to get back on; before doing the same himself. In a hurry to get out of the area, they didn't waste any time and were soon heading West once again. "I never got the chance to mention it to ya yesterday, but I found out while I was in town that the stagecoaches in this area have been getting robbed.
"Honestly I was hoping it was the guys from last night, but it seems someone else is responsible and still up to no good. They killed everyone on the stagecoach, stole the supplies and set the wagon on fire," Jakotsu explained as he stared out at the passing scenery. He wished he felt more offended by the attacks, it was happening near his childhood home, it was effecting his home town, but he just couldn't find it in him to take it personally.
It wasn't his home really; he felt no attachment to it or the town his mother was buried in. He just felt sorry for those that had been killed and those that were desperately needing those supplies. "I wish there was something I could for them," Jakotsu said to himself, unaware he had spoken out loud until Bankotsu answered him.
"Well, you never know. We might run into the ones responsible on the way. And if not, the we could always check back once we had gotten a second horse. If they were still having problems when we returned then maybe we can help the sheriff out. Hopefully my warrant won't make it this far out," Bankotsu told him, the last part directed more at himself than at Jakotsu. They both knew that it was just wishful thinking, but right now that was all they had.
