Inuyasha isn't mine.

CHAPTER 70: VENTILATION
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Sango rested her head on the pillow and snuggled closer to Miroku. The silk sheets formed a cocoon around their naked bodies. Her magenta eyes watched as Miroku’s chest rose and fall with every breathe he took. His arm was draped around her waist holding her possessively in place against him. Sango sighed gently in contentment while watching her beloved sleep. A nagging thought kept haunting her while she laid there, it had been bothering her for sometime. When she and Miroku were making love, Sango became even more aware of how her breasts had become very tender. The slightest touch was stimulating them, even wearing a bra was becoming challenging. Yet, it made having intercourse a lot more interesting.
When she told Miroku, at first he was concerned, but then Sango had reassured him it was nothing. She had assumed it was her menstruation cycle, but now she wasn’t sure. It hadn’t been a sudden thing, for it started about two weeks ago. At first Sango noticed that her breast seemed to have grown a size larger, and then they had become very sensitive. Her thoughts once again shifted to how it became very uncomfortable to wear bras. The material bothered her and she found herself at certain time of the day taking them off when able. Miroku tightened his arm around her, breaking her from her thoughts. All was well, at least for that second. Sango tried to go to sleep, but that is when it hit her. It was like a being caught outside in a rainstorm. The rolling motion of her stomach caused her to lurch from the bed and run for the bathroom.
Miroku woke with a start as he felt Sango jump from the bed with a jolt. He cracked his eyes opened and saw her sweet little body run into the bath just second before the sound of retching hit his ears. Miroku sat up in bed and scratched his head lazily. He listened more intently at the sound of the toilet flushing then the awful noise of his love being sick again. Miroku stood up from the bed and went to the bathroom to check on Sango. “Sango, sweet heart, are you alright?”
Sango was hanging her head down into the toilet praying that this wave of nausea would pass quickly. She heard Miroku behind her. His concern was radiating in that simple question. Sango dared a quick look over her shoulder and saw the man she loved standing stark raving naked leaning against the doorframe. Another roll of her stomach drew her attention away from him back to the toilet.
His violet colored eyes saw Sango head return back to the toilet releasing more of her stomach contents. Miroku moved to her side. He held her hair back from her face and with his other hand rubbed her back. “Sango,” Miroku whispered in her ear “when was your last cycle?” he asked with a knowing smile. Miroku thought to himself. ‘Sango does not get sick so easy.’
Sango closed her eyes not answering him fearing that she would vomit again. She was trying to remember when she had ever been this sick, or miserable. ‘Why are you asking me this Miroku!’ Sango replied mentally. ‘What does that have to do with…’ She stopped her train of thought. ‘Oh, my!’
A huge grin was coming to his face when he heard Sango grunt with some sort of realization. He continued to rub her back in console manor. “You know that could mean your pregnant Sango. That would explain why your breasts have been tender, and why you are losing your stomach contents now.” Miroku was happy with the thought of Sango having his child. Question was, was she? That thought disturbed him.
Sango’s mind was turning to mush. She was calculating when she should be starting her monthly. When the entire math was tabulated and formulated it just didn’t work out. According to the mathematical equation she should have had her period three weeks ago. That could only mean one thing, and Miroku seemed to have confirmed it. ‘I’m pregnant? I’m pregnant!’ The nausea passed and she was now able to look at Miroku.
He patiently waited for Sango to look at him after he gave her his thoughts. Her beautiful magenta eyes looked up at him with questioning. Miroku released her hair and brought that hand to her pale face. Miroku cupped her cheek looking deep into those eyes. He began to feel a little worried. “Are you unhappy about this Sango?”
Tears formed in her eyes as she heard the worry in his voice. Sango shook her head no. “I… I’m going to be a mother.” A tear slide down her cheek. “I’m carrying your child Miroku.” Sango was a little shaky as she moved away from the toilet. She threw her arms around Miroku, which took him down to the ground. Sango lay onto of him and kissed him passionately on the lips. “How could I not be happy?” She got up off him and smiled. “I have to tell Kagome.”
Sesshoumaru cursed Naraku silently as the swat team rode in three unmarked Cadillac Escalades. ‘I will tear him apart limb from limb. I will desecrate that bastard and everything that is tainted by him on this earth.’ His eyes were flashing red when he heard his name being called.
“Sesshoumaru- sama.”
He turned and looked at Bankotsu, who was driving the SUV and have him a hard look.
“We have the perimeter set up and the men are waiting for us to arrive. There still is no word on Samou or the where about of your wife.”
In the distance Naraku’s corporation was coming closer into view as the caravan of
SUV’s sped down the street.
Gramps never thought he would be able to get out all he did in one breath. “Kagome, you foolish hanyou, gave up everything for you! She married your brother to save you and your company. Kagome knew the take over was inevitable with out help, and Sesshoumaru made an offer she could not refuse. With certain conditions, of course.”
Inuyasha listened with insurmountable surprise and denial. “What!” he bellowed.
Kikyou began to panic. Her thoughts began to piece the big picture together. ‘So that’s how Inuyasha was able to keep the company. But, Naraku didn’t say anything about how it was that he could not obtain Inuyasha’s company. It was that whore, Kagome’s fault.’
“Are you deaf as well as blind old man? I got a backer for my company and it sure as hell wasn’t Sesshoumaru’s company! It was a private corporation.” Inuyasha yelled.
“Baka! The reason for that was because Kagome knew you wouldn’t want your brother’s help. She demanded that he back your company via an anonymous company that would be untraceable. It is a legitimate business transaction, but unfortunately he needed your help as well. Think about mutt!” Gramps argued. “Why would Sesshoumaru call and ask you for money to buy out Naraku’s stock interest in that villains company! Your brother couldn’t do it all by himself. Sesshoumaru needed your company to survive to take down Naraku!”
Kikyou felt like the world had stopped turning. ‘Sesshoumaru and Inuyasha were going to buy out all the stock in Naraku’s company. That means that they would have the majority, and Naraku could do nothing without the stockholders approval. Damnit! I have to warn him.’
The gears in Inuyasha’s mind started turning. “Then why the hell did she marry him?! Kagome didn’t have to marry the arrogant ass if he needed my help then in turn to help my company.”
That question floored Gramps. He wasn’t sure what the great Taiyoukai’s reason was for marrying his granddaughter. “I don’t know.” All the bluster left Gramps.
“Hahaha!” Kikyou laughed at the stumped priest. “Your granddaughter is only trying to cause problems, you fool. There is no way Sesshoumaru would anonymously help Inuyasha. He would rather watch him fail!” Kikyou spat out in disgust. She moved in closer to stand up to the priest.
“Witch! You will never know what Kagome did…” Gramps shouted. The two continued there rather loud arguing.
Inuyasha was deep in thought and was not listening to the two bickering. ‘If he needed my company to survive why not come directly to me and offer aid. Sesshoumaru would never pass up the opportunity to rub it in my face. Where does Kagome fit into this?’ The more he thought the more Inuyasha became frustrated. ‘Doesn’t Sesshoumaru have enough with what father left him and the corporation he built? Damn him!’ That question seemed to make the preverbal light bulb go on. ‘Wait just a minute! What if Sesshoumaru received some sort of stipulation like I did in the will.’ The gears in Inuyasha’s mind were turning full speed now. ‘That’s has to be it. Why else would he marry? I was told that the conditions of the will were closed and that Sesshoumaru would not know what I was promised. Nor would I know his. FUCK!!’ Inuyasha growled loudly at his thoughts. ‘Kagome didn’t betray me. She was helping me, and I bet that ass of a half brother of mine didn’t tell her the entire story.’ The anger escalated as Inuyasha went over to the wall and made a fist. The bamboo wall splinted from the force of his punch leaving a gapping whole in the wall.
Kikyou and Gramps’ voices died in their throat. They turned and looked at Inuyasha who was taking out his frustrations on the shrine wall.
“Did Kagome know…” Inuyasha stopped when the sound of his cell phone rang. He pulled the phone from the pocket of his pants. Inuyasha’s golden eyes widen with reservation as the name on the caller I.D. revealed itself. “Kagome.” He whispered.
*ring… ring…*
Inuyasha held the phone within his hand contemplating whether to answer it.
The small office was now shrouded in darkness with Kagome still standing on the floor by the desk. She fought the urge to panic what good would it do her. Beside that is exactly what the bastard after her wanted. ‘I must be strong. I can get out of here.’ Without thinking she had lifted herself onto the desk and was standing up. Her hand grabbed hold of the armrest on both side of the chair. Kagome was careful no make the chair move. The rollers at the bottom of the chair would cause her to fall to the down if she made any big jerky movements. One foot made it onto the padding of the seat. Kagome balanced for a moment before lifting her other foot up. The chair rolled a little to the right causing Kagome to squeal. She seemed to be frozen in the squatting position for a while until she was sure that the chair had stopped moving. Kagome then let go of the armrest and slowly stood up.
Naraku walked back down the hall and purposely jiggled the keys announcing that he was coming. In that is. His eyes were lit with a blazing fire. ‘Kagome, you will be mine, and when I find you I will teach you that you can not run from me.’
Kagome heard the unmistakable noise. ‘He’s back!’ her mind screamed. She reached up quickly for the vent shaft but the chair rolled out from under Kagome’s feet. She was left hanging. Although her feet were about two feet from the floor if she let go now it would be over. Sweat started to collect on her brow as held on for dear life. ‘Please Kami give me strength.’ Kagome’s prayers were broke through with the sound of the door handle being rattled.
“I’m coming in Kagome, and I will teach you not to disobey me.”
“NO!” Kagome screamed. She started to swing herself back and forth in the hope that the momentum would some how help her lift herself into the ventilation shaft, and yet while in mid swing Kagome’s foot was able to touch the chair. That gave her the idea to try catching the chair with her foot again. ‘Maybe.’ She commented to herself.
The key entered into the slot and jostled a little. The lock slid out of place with a loud clang. The door open revealing a devilish Naraku standing smuggle in the doorway. The cocky manner he held quickly disappeared as he scanned the room for his prize. But, she wasn’t there. He spotted the chair on the desk and the vent cover leaned again the desk. “Still hiding from me, Kagome?”
Flashing light deep within the hidden garage showed the narrowing count down. 9:01, 9:00, 8:59…
