As Bankotsu eavesdropped on the room next door, he was able to pick up a few key phrases such as 'the meeting', 'the package' and the most important word he was waiting for 'Onigumo'. Standing up suddenly until only his feet remained submerged in the cooling bath water, Bankotsu completely forgot about his current state of undress and gestured for his company to hand him a towel. A bit distracted by the scene before him, it took him a minute to realize what he wanted and passed him one.
As he watched, Bankotsu wrapped the towel around his waist and stepped out of the tub to press his ear against the wall, not even bothering to dry off. Ignoring the drops of water that marked his path between the two points, and already knowing he would have to clean them up later, the saloon 'girl' remained silent so he would not prevent him from hearing something from the other room. It wasn't until a few minutes later that Bankotsu finally turned back after hearing one of the men leaving the other room.
“I think it's time to eat...,” Bankotsu began only to realize he had no idea what his companion's name was. Understanding his hesitation, he gave him his name before watching as he headed back out into the other room. “Well Jakotsu, there's nothing else I can do for now so we might as well eat our dinner that's probably grown cold by now.” After making quick work of the water drops on the floor, Jakotsu followed after him.
When he entered the other room, he found Bankotsu already sitting cross legged on the bed with the tray of food in front of him. Without bothering to look up from his dinner or stop eating, he gestured for Jakotsu to sit across from him where he had left plenty of room. “So what do you plan to do now? I assume that was the guy you were searching for,” Jakotsu inquired after he had taken his seat and began to pick at the plate before him.
“Now I find a way to get into his room when he's not there in order to look around. You wouldn't happen to know a way to do that would you?” Bankotsu questioned and as he glanced up, he watched Jakotsu's face break out in a grin. “I take it that is a yes. After dinner is over, how about you fill me in,” he continued and Jakotsu nodded in agreement before turning his attention back to the cold food in front of him.
