Chapter 7

“Hey, old woman!” Inuyasha called out.



“What do you want Inuyasha?” Kaede asked as she looked at the figure in Inuyasha’s arms, “What mess have you created now? You do know that I won’t be getting you out of it right? You’ll be digging yourself out of it this time!”



Inuyasha spluttered though Sango spoke before anything could be started.



“We need your medical help Kaede-sama,” Sango said as she moved the material which was covering Kaede’s view of Harry, “We will explain everything but we need to act now before we lose Harry to the poison from a water demon.”



Kaede came forward and took a look at the raven haired boy with a healer’s eye, ignoring the soft growling that was coming from Inuyasha.



“You did well girl,” Kaede said as she turned and silently led the group into her hut, “But it is now time that I take over.”



With that they entered Keade’s hut, Kaede motioned to the bed she had set up close to the fireplace for those who she healed which she allowed Inuyasha to place Harry on before ‘politely’ kicking the group out.



With Inuyasha grumblings as he was lead out of Kaede’s hut no one heard Kaede’s mutterings while she gathered the needed herbs and potions:



‘Aye, you’ve got yourself a good mate there my boy, a fine mate indeed.’



***During the time Kade takes to heal Harry but with Inuyasha and the others***



“Inuyasha, calm down,” Kagome said from where she seemed to be glued to a ‘happy’ Koga at having his mate so close.



Inuyasha stopped pacing and gave a glare, “My mate might DIE!”



“He won’t mutt,” Koga said as he crossed his arms, “Kaede is a brilliant healer, besides with both Kagome’s and Kaede’s healing skills I’m pretty sure your mate will be fine.”



Inuyasha was about to rant when Shippo’s small hand grabbed hold of his Hamoko.



“I know how you can help Harry-Sama,” Shippo cried out happily.



“Show me,” was Inuyasha’s only reply much to everyone else’s amusement.



As they watched Inuyasha allowing Shippo to drag him away Miroku spoke:



“Isn’t the direction they’re going in where the meadows covered in flowers are and that there is shops where you can buy bonding jewellery?”



It was stone silent until Koga called out as he ran after Shippo and Inuyasha:



“Wait for me!”



“Hurry up,” Inuyasha growled out as they paused to allow Koga to catch up with them, “We haven’t got all day you know.”



Koga wisely kept his smart arse reply to himself for once, “I know, let’s get going then.”



“This way!” Shippo said cheerfully as he led the two dominates the last couple of feet to the clearing.



The sights that meet them took their breaths away; a meadow was before them filled with brightly coloured flowers, each flower had what seemed to be their own unique and special smell. Around the outside of the meadow were a few shops that were selling various things to help in the creating of the bonding jewellery for those who needed it.



“You should make bonding jewellery for Harry and Kagome!” Shippo said as he went and sat down in the middle of the flower full meadow and began to make a flower chain.



With one last look at each other, Inuyasha and Koga began to make their bonding jewellery. Both too proud in the beginning to ask for the metals they needed from the shop owners though that soon left when they realised that they needed the metals.



Four hours slowly ticked by and without realizing it both Inuyasha and Koga had made a prefect bonding jewellery piece for their mate.



Inuyasha’s bonding jewellery was in the form of a simple but effective necklace. The necklace was made out of pure silver and was given to Inuyasha in a flat sheet which Inuyasha had then turned it into the shape of a dog sitting down with its front left paw on a 3D round ball like green crystal with a flower in the middle of it. Inuyasha had even used some of his own hair to create some extra strength and protection.



Koga's bonding jewellery was a ring, it was made out of bronze with protective markings of the wolf clan on it, at the top was a light blue jewel that matched Kagome’s eyes, if looked at close enough a wolf running on the spot could be seen running in the blue jewel.



“Done,” Inuyasha said proudly as he stood up with a smug grin.



“Let me see,” Koga said as he finished paying a shop owner for a small ring case.



“Why should I-“Inuyasha started only to pause.



“Mutt?” Koga questioned only to get Inuyasha suddenly running off in the direction of Kaede’s hut.



“Guess Harry’s awake,” Shippo said as he calmly followed Inuyasha’s trail leaving Koga to follow behind.



***Time change by a few minutes and Scene change to outside of Kade’s hut***



Kaede ran a critical eye over the group in front of her. It seemed that Inuyasha was Harry’s mate if the way he had been able to arrive when she’d finished without her having to send word.



“You may go in Inuyasha, but you know the rules,” Kade said amused which only grew as Inuyasha raced by but not without dropping a big red apple into her hands.



Once Inuyasha was in the hut Kaede turned to the still waiting group and said with a winkled smile:



“He’ll be fine after a few days of bed rest.”



“I guess we’ll be finding another place to stay for a couple of days,” Kagome said as her Miko powers felt Inuyasha’s aura going up around the building to protect his injured mate.



“I don’t think that Inuyasha will even let Kaede into her own hut until Harry wakes up and gives the okay,” Sango said as they began to walk to the main hut that was used for anything and everything.



The days flew by since Inuyasha and Harry had last been seen, Kagome, Miroku, Sango, Shippo, Koga and Kaede stayed in the main hut with the other villagers helping them out when needed. Soon enough it had been a week and Harry had given the ok which was soon followed by Kaede’s medical knowledge ok.



"Please!" Harry pleaded with his mate. "I've been in this hut all week; I want to get out of here for some fresh air!"



Inuyasha still looked undecided when Kaede added, "It would do the lad good Inuyasha. Besides, with you and your friends, nothing will even get near Harry."



"Fine, you win!" Inuyasha finally gave into the chibi-eyed look his sub was giving him. He smiled when Harry gave him a grin of delight.



"Let's go have a picnic!" Shippo said happily on Kagome's shoulders, "We haven't done that in forever!"



Everyone liked the idea the little Kitsune had, so after gathering everything they needed, they headed to the meadow that overlooked the village, with a smirking Inuyasha carrying a blushing Harry of course. The mismatched group just enjoyed each other’s company, with subtle flirting by Inuyasha and Koga, and not-so-subtle by Miroku when Sango asks the silver-haired half-demon a question:



"Hey Inuyasha, how come Harry's still alive if you two are mates and have been separated for so long? That's been bugging me for awhile."



The rest of the group quieted to listen to the explanation.



"Well, I know we're mates through our mark we share, but we haven't done anything else besides it. Though since we both have the intention to complete our bonding, that has saved us from having any ill effects and has kept Harry alive and well" He explained.



The others nodded and turned back to their own conversations.



Inuyasha then got a smirk on his face and leaned down to whisper in Harry's ear, "Wanna complete the bond?"



Harry's eyes lit up at the prospect of completing the bond with his mate and asked, "Are you sure?

Inuyasha’s face still held the perverted look, “Oh I’m sure Harry-Love, so what’s your answer?”



With Harry’s happy squeal of ‘yes’ Inuyasha scooped Harry up and left in the direction of Kade’s hut with a shit eating grin on his face while leaving Kagoue to his cries of:



“No fair!”
