Could Anything Else Go Wrong?
A/n: IT’S FINALLY HEAR! The long waited date that I’ve held over everyone’s head for like ever. I’m slightly drunk and listening to the Dir cd, so it might not be the best in the whole world. But here it is! Now enjoy and review.
Oh! And before I forget! Thank you all who have reviewed! I love your reviews so much. It makes me so happy to find people who like my stories. Well, here you go!
Chapter seven: Could anything else go wrong?
Kagome laid warmly in her bed, the covered pulled up to her chin. A small smile was on her lips as she was dreaming happily of the ocean and a particular demon. She could fell his warm fingers run though her hair, his voice whispering in her ear.
“Wake up Kagome.” He whispered softly.
Kagome groaned and nuzzled her pillow. She could have sworn she just heard Sesshomaru’s voice. Slowly opening her eyes, she saw the object of her dreams watching her calmly next to her bed. “Sesshomaru…?” She muttered.
He smiled. “It’s about time you woke up. Did you forget about our date?”
Instantly her sleep filled mind woke up. Faster then he would ever think possible, Kagome jumped out of bed and was at the other side of the room. Her eyes were wide in shock.
“What are you doing in my room?!” She screamed.
Sesshomaru looked her up and down, trying not to groan. Kagome stood before him, wearing nothing but a tee shirt and panties. From the way it draped over her breast, he could easily tell she wasn’t wearing a bra.
“Its twelve thirty Kagome.” He answered. “Our date was at noon. Your mother got tired of screaming up the stairs and honestly, my ears can’t take the screaming anymore.” He was already half deaf.
Kagome panted for a moment before looking at the clock. She almost squeaked, but for Sesshomaru’s sake, she held back. “Crap! I forgot to turn my alarm on.”
Sesshomaru allowed a small smile to escape his lips. “Relax. Now I suggest you should get dressed. As charming as you are now, I’m sure you don’t want to go out like that.”
Kagome looked down at her outfit, and then turned about five different shades of red before screaming at him to get out of her room.
He gladly left, though a grin on his face as he did. Sesshomaru had the whole day planed out perfectly. First he was going to take her out for a dress suited for the occasion, then after that, he planed on taking her shopping around town, buying her whatever he could. Before the show would start, Sesshomaru was going to treat her to a nice candle light dinner and then bring her to the show where he had the best seats in the house. And at the end of the night, he would walk her to her house, hopefully get a kiss, and tell her that he will see her tomorrow. Yes, he was going to show Kagome that he was very serious.
“Sorry I slept in.” Kagome whispered, breaking Sesshomaru out of his trance. He quickly looked at her and couldn’t help but to be shocked. She stood before him wearing black dress pants with what looked to be a red Asian top that made him almost drool.
“Well, are you ready?” He asked, quickly regaining his senses.
Kagome smiled softly and nodded, following after him.

Kikyou stood in front of Naraku, anger and determination set deep in her eyes. “Are you sure this is going to work Naraku?” She demanded him.
The Hanyou looked at her lazily. “Of course it’s going to work. If you can do all this, it’ll be no time before Sesshomaru is eating out of the palm of your hands. Just do what I told you to.”
The black haired woman sighed. “If this goes wrong, I’m going to tell him it was your idea.”
“Go ahead. He won’t believe you no matter what you say. But if you wanna chicken out of it, then fine.”
Kikyou bit her lip. “No. I’ll go though with it.”
“Good.”
**
Sesshomaru watched in mild amusement while Kagome was trying to hide behind him from the sales woman. It was the third dress she tried on and the girl was practically screaming that the sales woman was trying to molest her.
“She just wants to make sure it fits you just right.” He tried to reassure her.
Kagome looked at him angrily. “She’s trying to feel me up.”
The taiyoukai chuckled. “I could always make sure that it fits right.
Really, the way Kagome kept changing colors on him was just too much for him. He was trying not to tease her, but the way she kept reacting to him, he just couldn’t help himself.
“I think I’m going to go with the sales girl.” Kagome muttered before going back to the other woman.
**
Kagome stood before Sesshomaru not too long after wearing a long beautiful red dress. She kept looking at him nervously, as if hoping that he wouldn’t say she looked stupid.
“Stunning.” He whispered in shock. “You look absolutely sunning.”
The raven haired girl blushed slightly and pulled one of her bangs behind an ear. “I feel weird.” She muttered. “I mean really weird.”
He took her hand into his and kissed it softly. “The stars pale in comparison.” He whispered softly, his breath ghosting over her skin.
Kagome shivered slightly. “You’re exaggerating.” She muttered. “Serious-” Kagome was cut off suddenly as a little boy ran right into her. He looked up at her with teary eyes and half of his ice cream on her brand new dress.
“I’m…sorry.” The little boy whimpered.
Kagome smiled softly and bent down to the boy. “It’s okay. Accidents happen. Where’s your mommy?”
The kid sniffled and pointed at a woman not too far who was running over herself.
“Shinta!” The woman yelled. “Oh my goodness! I’m so sorry. I lost sight of him when I was paying for the ice cream. Oh god, I’ll pay for your dress.”
Kagome shook her head. “Don’t worry about it. Just… keep a close eye on him okay?”
The woman apologized once more before running off, her son holding her hand.
Kagome smiled and waved. “Sesshomaru, you can stop biting your tongue now.”
Sesshomaru stood there, his eyes closed and his hands fisted tight enough that he broke the skin on his own palm. “You could have let her pay for the dress.” He muttered, trying to control his temper. After all, it would ruin their date if he just exploded right then and there.
The raven hair girl sighed and took Sesshomaru’s hand into her own. “Sesshomaru, it’s just a dress. I thank you for getting it for me, but you really didn’t have to. Let me get back into the clothes I was wearing earlier and I’ll get the stain out of the dress when I get home. And how about this, when we have another nice date, I’ll wear that dress just for you.”
He opened his sunset eyes and looked at her warmly. “If you’re willing to go on another date with me.”
She giggled slightly at the comment. “Of course. Now stop acting like an angry puppy whose toy just got stolen and let’s go. You said you had a date planned.”
**
Half the day had gone by and Sesshomaru could swear that they were cursed. A car drove by and splashed his nice suit, every time he went to buy something nice for Kagome, they would tell him that it was saved for someone else. And throwing around his father’s name wasn’t helping any either. He was practically to his breaking point. If the dinner didn’t go right, and if the play ended up getting canceled, he was going to throw in the towel. There was no way the day was going as he perfectly planned it to be.
“Oh wow Sesshomaru…” Kagome whispered. “This place is… so expensive.”
The taiyoukai smiled at her as he took her hand and brought her into the restaurant. He had reservations for the place so there was no way it could end up badly.
“Name please?” The host asked him.
“Taisho.” Sesshomaru answered with a smile.
The man at the desk looked it over, and looked it once more before shaking his head. “It says you canceled earlier on today.” He answered.
The silver haired demon’s eyes narrowed. “Excuse me?”
“It says that you canceled. Your spot has already been filled.”
Sesshomaru gripped Kagome’s hand so hard he didn’t realize he did it till she yelped out. He looked at her apologetically before glaring at the man. “I did not cancel. Get your manager now.” He demanded in such a voice that the man bolted.
Minutes later a crisp old man walked up and gave a small nod. “You must be the younger Taisho. Your father has already called and apologized for you.”
A thin silver eyebrow arched. “Excuse me?”
The man cleared his throat. “I do not need you to be playing these games with me Mr. Taisho. I had called up earlier and said that our food was nothing more then trash and that you refused to eat as such a place. You canceled your reservations very rudely and slammed the phone. Now, if my place is such trash, why do you bring yourself here?”
His eyes narrowed and kept his temper under control. It would do him no good to start issuing death threats to the manager of one of the restaurants that his father owned. In fact, he couldn’t afford to do such childish acts whatsoever.
“I apologize for whatever you think I have said. But I reassure you sir that I’ve been with this lovely lady all day and couldn’t have called at all about it. But if you have indeed already filled my spot, then I shall find somewhere else to eat.” He gave a small nod of his head, offered his arm to Kagome and headed out.
“I didn’t want to say this at all…” Kagome started, “But do you think that someone is trying to conspire against us? I mean, my luck isn’t that bad.”
Sesshomaru gave a small nod and sat her down on a bench near a park. “I didn’t think it till we got to the restaurant.” He answered.
Kagome sighed. “Maybe we should head home before something else happens.”
The youkai shook his head and got down on one knee, taking her hand into his once more. “We still have the play to go to. Don’t worry; our night will have a happy ending.”
Kagome looked at him for a moment. “I don’t sleep on the first date.”
He chuckled slightly at her comment. “That’s not what I meant.”
“You know,” Kagome smiled, “this is the first time I’ve ever seen you smile so much. It means your having a good time.”
“And pray tell, why would Sesshomaru have fun with a dumb bitch like you?”
Kagome quickly looked over Sesshomaru’s shoulder only to narrow her eyes. “What the hell do you want Kikyou?” She snapped.
Kikyou gave her a look before addressing Sesshomaru. “So tell me Sess, are you having fun with the moron? You know she’s below you. I hear that you haven’t been sleeping around. I bet that your not so little buddy misses being buried deep into a woman.” She reached over to cup him only to have her hand slapped away by his.
“This Sesshomaru did not give you permission to touch my person.” He growled. “What do you want?”
Kagome looked over at him. She knew that when Sesshomaru referred to him in the third person, he was angry. Inuyasha always told her stories about it.
“I want to know why you would waste yourself with trash like her.” Kikyou motioned towards Kagome. “What did she do? Put a spell on you? She’s nothing more then a virgin bitch. She’s just taunting you with the fact that she’s untouched. We all know that you’ll leave her when your done and over with.”
Sesshomaru stepped in front of Kagome, stopping her from saying anything. “This Sesshomaru cares not if she’s touched or not.” He growled, taking a step towards the woman. “And if you ever insult my mate to be again, I will not even think about hesitating to remove your head from your small body.”
Kikyou looked at him as if he slapped her across the face. “Mate to be? Have you lost your fucking mind Sesshomaru? That bitch?!”
That was the last straw. Before she knew it, Kikyou found herself pinned to the tree, claws just inches from her face, dripping in acid. Blood red eyes glared dangerously at her, promising pain.
“Sesshomaru!” Kagome cried out, running over to him and grabbing him from behind. “Leave her alone! Kikyou’s not worth it! Let’s just go alright!”
Red bled into gold and he quickly let go of Kikyou, watching her coughing on the ground.
“Don’t ever come near me again Kikyou.” He snarled. “Ever.” Sesshomaru looked at Kagome and offered her his arm. “Let’s go?”
Kagome looked at it for a moment before kneeling down at Kikyou. “Look, I don’t know what your problem is Kikyou, but just be smart for once okay?” She took Sesshomaru’s arm and walked away with him.
Sesshomaru was seriously thinking about going back and ending the life of the woman. Kikyou had pushed him too far for once. He even went out and told Kagome that he wanted her to be his mate. Really, that’s not how he wanted to tell her. He wanted it to be romantic. Not because of this.
“Sesshomaru?” Kagome asked. “We do still have the tickets right?”
He blinked for a moment before checking his jacket pocket. Confusion set in as he realized they weren’t there. Going though every pocket that he had, he cursed out loud. “I’m going to kill her.” He growled. “She pick pocketed me.”
The raven haired girl just smiled softly. “That’s okay.”
“How is it okay?” For once, Sesshomaru was losing his cool. The whole day went wrong. Every thing that he tried to do today ended up horrible. He wanted it to be the perfect date for Kagome. A night that she would never forget. And yet everything kept going wrong!
Kagome stood in front of him. “Tell me Sesshomaru, are you hurt?” She asked him.
He looked at her oddly. “No.”
“Do I look hurt to you?”
“Not that I can tell.”
“Did you enjoy your time with me?”
“What are you getting at Kagome.”
Kagome placed her hand at her hip. “Don’t argue, just answer my question.”
Sesshomaru bit back at sigh. “Yes.”
The girl smile. “Tell me oh great and mighty Sesshomaru, Do you like rock?”
**
“You’re lucky I know someone from the inside!” Kagome laughed as Sesshomaru brought her up the stairs to her house. “Only a handful of people know that Dir en Grey was having an underground concert.”
Sesshomaru chuckled and stopped at the door. “Your right that was fun. But are you sure that you don’t regret seeing the Phantom of the Opera?”
Kagome sighed. “I would love to see it, but that’s okay. I had fun with you Sesshomaru. I can’t wait till our next date.”
He pulled her close to his body. “So does that mean that you’ll go out with me.”
The adrenalin high girl giggled. “My dear Sesshomaru, I thought I was already your girlfriend. I mean, here you are, taking me out on a nice date. Even if everything went wrong. And what’s this about being your mate to be?”
He chuckled at that. “One day I’ll tell you. For now, you should get going to be. I’ll call you in the morning. But before I let you go, can I have a good night kiss?”
Kagome giggled once more. “Don’t push your luck puppy dog.”
The man let her go. “I get it. Well, good night Kagome.”
She smiled and grabbed his by the collar and kissed his lips quickly. “Night.” She blushed before running into her house.
Sesshomaru stood there for a moment, a shocked look on his face. “She… just… wow…” He muttered. Never before had a kiss just blow his mind away. “I guess I really am head over heals in love with her.” He smiled before turning and leaving. Yes, he would call her in the morning, and on top of that he was going to have one last date before school started again on Monday.
**
Red eyes watched in the distance, a smirk on his face. “Let’s see how you really would like her after I’m done Sesshomaru.” He whispered before disappearing into the night.
