Death's Embrace
“Kuso! Why did you do this?! Damn stupid houshi!”
Inuyasha was cradling Miroku in his arms. The blood seemed to be everywhere.
“Because you don't love me, that's why...”
“And that's why you slit your wrists? You human are so stupid!”
Miroku was panting shallow, on the brink of losing consciousness. He was glad that as death would embrace him he could see Inuyasha's face. Glad that the hanyo had found him so that he could take that last image with him to the after world. Damn but it hurt to die. And he was cold, shivering. Death was so cold. But he'd gotten to see Inuyasha one last time. Why was the other bandaging his wrists? No! I want to die!
Miroku tried to dispel Inuyasha weakly but the hanyo held him down.
“Damn if I let you die for this, monk!” Inuyasha shook him gently, slapping his face to keep him awake. “I love you too dammit!”
And that was the last thing Miroku heard.
