Chapter seven: Lets party!

“We’re so lucky that we get today off!” Kagome said happily as she lay on the couch. Today was her day off from school and she was going to relax the day away. It did suck that her friend wanted them to come over for a study session, but that normally meant ice cream. That was enough to get her to come.

“What are you doing Kagome?” Sesshomaru asked as he entered the living room.

Kagome looked at Sesshomaru and her jaw dropped. The yokai wore a simple white button down shirt, un-tucked, half unbuttoned, and blue jeans. He also looked like he just got out of bed. The only reason Kagome could think of why Sesshomaru was so groggy had to be because they just got new mattresses the other night. And god were they heaven. Even Kagome didn’t want to leave her bed that morning. But then again, the smell of her mother’s cooking drew her downstairs. That was something she cannot resist.

“I’m watching TV.” She finally answered, tearing her eyes away from the yokai. “We don’t have school today because we have the school field trip to go to tomorrow. Which means I need to go swimsuit shopping today. You need one too Sesshomaru-sama.”

Sesshomaru sat down in chair and arched an elegant eyebrow. “Swimsuit shopping?” He asked. Just the thought of going shopping again with Kagome just didn’t seem appealing. Or thrilling for that matter. “I’ll pass.”

Kagome frowned and crossed her arms. “You can’t just pass, Sesshomaru-sama. You need at least swimming trunks. And I don’t think they’re going to let you swim in nothing but your birthday suit.”

The demon blinked for a moment. What was she going on about? Wasn’t today her birthday, not his? Or maybe it was another term that the humans used as a joke. He had been there for a month and yet he still didn’t get some of the terms that they used.

The girl rolled her chocolate eyes. “It means to swim naked.” She said, shaking her head. “Anyways, lets go shopping!”

It took some convincing, as well as some well made breakfast, to finally get Sesshomaru to go shopping with Kagome. She hummed happily while she walked next to him. Though it looked almost like skipping in the inuyokai’s case. Finally, she stopped at a clothing store and dragged Sesshomaru inside.

“Lets see… lets try and get you swim trunks that scream: I’m a powerful yokai, but I’m here to relax…” Kagome muttered to herself, as she looked though the swim trunks.

Sesshomaru watched her and slowly got an idea of what she was talking about. There were a couple occasions where he ran into Inuyasha’s group to see Kagome wearing nothing but what looked like a skimpy top and a skimpy bottom. He could only guess that was a swimsuit. And if it was, there was no way on kami’s green earth he was going to wear one.

“Here we go!” Kagome pulled out black swim shorts with what looked like little flames licking up the pants legs. After looking at it, then Sesshomaru, Kagome shook her head and went back looking. A couple minutes later she pulled out just a pain black pair that looked to be made from silk. “This fits you better.” She said, tossing the pair to him. “Try it on in the fitting room. Now, with those, you have to take off all your clothes. When you go swimming, that’s all you’ll be wearing. You know the whole drill on putting stuff on.”

The inuyokai groaned inwardly. This is the part he hated the most. She had him strip down many times to try on human clothes. And now she was asking him o strip naked in some stall, and try something on once more. His breast once more growled that she should be taking off his clothes in the stall and doing other things, but once more, he ignored it and did as he was told.

While Sesshomaru tried on the trunks, Kagome went off, trying to find a swimsuit for herself. She found a black one for herself It was a two piece bikini, and really cute. She saw it in her size, and instantly jumped for it. This way, she matched Sesshomaru.

“Its acceptable.” Sesshomaru said as he passed her the trunks.

Kagome smiled and nodded. “I thought it fit you.” With both items paid for, they headed off back home.

“Mom! Sesshomaru-sama and I are going to Ayumi’s house!” Kagome called as she put her shoes on. “We’ll be back later on.”

“Alright, you two be careful out there.”

Kagome smiled softly. Sesshomaru was going to be with her. What did her mom have to worry about? “Ready?” She asked the yokai.

Sesshomaru nodded, slipping on his own shoes. Another thing he found highly uncomfortable. “Let’s go or you’ll be late.”

Kagome checked her watch and cried out. “Oh my god! We’re going to be late!” Looking around for her bike, she realized that it was still in the past. “Oh no… we’re going to be late…”

Sesshomaru sighed. He really didn’t want to do this, but it seemed like he didn’t have much of a choice. “Get on my back.” He said, kneeling for a second.

“Are you sure?” Kagome asked, knowing that he was bending his pride to do something like this. “I mean, if I call, I’m sure she’ll understand.”

“I’m not going to repeat myself Kagome.” Sesshomaru said in clipped tones. “Get on.” It also was an excuse for him to run around some. His speed was infamous, and he missed running.

Kagome bit her lip and climbed on his back. Wrapping her arms around his neck, Kagome gave a small nod. “Alright-”

Before she could say anything else, the Taiyokai took off running. It felt so good to feel the wind against his skin, and the rustle though his hair. Maybe he should start going late to school so he could make these runs. He was the great and almighty Sesshomaru. Maybe he should start showing these pathetic humans what he could do. That was till he remembered Kagome on his back. Randomly killing humans would cause her to start hating him. And by this point, he didn’t want her to hate him.

“There’s her house!” Kagome said in his ear.

Sesshomaru growled slightly before jumping down to the human’s house. There seemed to be no one in site as he allowed Kagome to climb down his back. “We’re on time.” He said simply.

Kagome frowned. “That’s weird… it looks like no one is home…”

“There are.” He said simply. He could smell the reek of humans inside.

Trusting the inuyokai’s sense of smell, Kagome knocked on the door, only to hear someone yell for them to come in. The girl bit her lip, a little scared of what was happening here. Sesshomaru on the other hand didn’t smell danger, but flexed his claws just in case.

Once she opened the door, she looked around to see that it was dark inside as well as out. “Ayumi?” She called.

“SURPRISE!”

People jumped out of their hiding places, and Sesshomaru’s claws snapped open as if to defend Kagome and himself. Instead of hearing Kagome scream in fear, she squealed so loudly that his sensitive ears were ringing from it.

“Oh my god! You guys scared me so much!” Kagome cried as she ran up and hugged her friends. She turned to the inuyokai to see him hide his poison claws from view. “Sesshomaru-sama, did you know about this?”

Sesshomaru shrugged. “Sort of.”

“Don’t be silly! Taisho-san knew about it.” Ayumi giggled. “I asked him to bring you here.”

Kagome let go of her friend and ran over to Sesshomaru, hugging him tightly. “Thank you Sesshomaru-sama.”

Sesshomaru didn’t hug her back, but was too busy fighting his beast. It was screaming that she was showing affection for him and he should just pin her down and claim her before some other male does. He was screaming back at it that her friend were standing right there and that this was not the time and place for him to do that.

Kagome frowned slightly when he didn’t hug her back. She pulled away and smiled up at him. “Sorry Sesshomaru-sama. I forgot that you don’t like to be touched.”

The inuyokai just looked at her before turning his attention at another male. If he recalled correctly it was Hojo. And he didn’t look too happy that Kagome hugged him instead of the human. In a way, he was reminded of Koga.

Ayumi clapped her hands. “Alright! Lets get this birthday party started!”

It had been two hours later, and it was obvious by this point that someone had spiked the punch. Everyone was drunk, and if there wasn’t someone drunk, they were getting there. Everyone except Sesshomaru. He knew that the punch smelled funny, but never said anything about it. After all, it wasn’t his place to say that it was spiked.

“So Kagome-chan, will you finally say you’ll go out with me?” A boy said as he approached the already drunken girl.

Kagome shook her head and smiled. “Sorry Koga. I told you over and over again that you’re a good friend. I love someone else.”

The boy frowned. “But I’m not Koga Kagome-chan. So will you date me instead?”

Sesshomaru had enough of this. He grabbed the boy by the back of his collar and pulled him away. “Leave.” He snapped.

The boy squeaked and ran off.

“We’re going home Kagome.” He said, grabbing her hand.

“No!” She cried, yanking her arm away. “I won’t let you hurt me any more Inuyasha! I don’t love you anymore!”

Sesshomaru just about had it. He grabbed Kagome and threw her over his shoulder. He would carry her out if anything else. That was till she started to kick and scream at him.

“No Inuyasha!” She cried. “I’m not Kikiyo! I was never her. I’m just a pitiful reincarnation of her! Stop saying that you care about me because I know you don’t.” She stopped struggling and began to sob. “I could have given you everything you wanted and yet… you chose her over me.”

Sesshomaru sighed and brought her outside. Once he did, he slammed the door and set her down. He took her face in both of his hands and forced her to look at him. “Do I look anything like that half breed?” He snapped. “I’m not him. So stop comparing me to him, or mistaking me for him. He’s not here, and he will never be here.”

Kagome’s tears slowly began to stop as she looked deep into Sesshomaru’s amber eyes. “I’m so sorry Sesshomaru…” She said as she began to cry again. “I’m not a demon and I’ll never be as good as any demon. I’m just a pathetic human. And yet, I love you so much. Because you treat me like I’m more then a piece of trash.” And without warning, she gave him a sloppy drunken kiss before passing out.

The demon sighed softly and picked her up to take her home. He kept telling himself that she was drunk and that she didn’t mean it. But then again, the possibilities where still high. ‘Its going to be a long school trip…” Sesshomaru muttered to himself.
