My Hearts Desires

The sunset streamed through the windows of the temple. Calling the end of day three of Rin’s recovery. Sesshomaru never left his ward’s side. He helped tend to her ailments, he helped her eat when she woke up, and he didn’t want to rest. He just wanted to watch Rin recover, and was surprised of how fast she was. She was strong, that much he was certain. But that’s all that he was certain of, he was plagued with decisions about their future. Sesshomaru had already decided that he wasn’t going to leave Rin again. There were too many threats to her safety to leave her. He was glad that he hadn’t gotten to far after this attack, he wouldn’t allow himself to let him think about what would have been the outcome had he been farther away and unable to return. The other decisions weren’t so easy to overcome. He already knew Rin’s intentions; she had made them ‘painfully’ clear the night by the lake. But was he ready to mate with her? Sure the thought of having her had come to mind but did that mean that he wanted her forever?

All he knows that as soon as Rin was more suited to travel that they pack up and leave this village that was so grateful for her efforts to protect their home. That thought made Sesshomaru think back to what he heard from all the visitors that came to see Rin, about the day of the attack. He continued to curse ever giving his ward that sword, although he was kind of impressed in the way that she had used it, from what he heard. Sesshomaru decided that for her own safety that he confiscated the sword while Rin was resting. He smiled at the fight that Rin would put up when she found out that he had taken it. To have her vigor return was something that he couldn’t wait for.

Sesshomaru’s silent thoughts were broken when Jakken came into the room with a lantern and some food for Rin and his lord. Jakken looked down at Rin who was beginning to stir.

“Lord Sesshomaru, has she shown any more progress today?”

“Not so much, I’m sure that she just wants to rest. Her breathing and heart rate is steady, that’s always a good sign. I will get her to eat this, I promise.”

“I brought extra for you as well, master.”

“Thanks, I’m not really hungry….” Jakken cut him off

“You haven’t really eaten in a couple of days, it would put my mind at ease if you ate something. Rin needs you to be strong, for her sake.”

“Don’t worry about me, I’m fine. Rin’s health is all that matters to me right now.”

Jakken looked at Rin and then back at his lord and hope that they both were going to be okay, and with that thought he left the room. As Jakken left the smell of the food he brought wafted in Rin’s nose, which gracefully woke her up. She looked up at Sesshomaru in his usual spot and smiled.
“ That smells really good.” She said happily as she remembered that he was going to assist her in this activity as he had everyday since her accident.

“Do you have strength to sit up on your own or do you need my help.”

Rin smiled mischievously, “I think I’m going to need a little help, if you don’t mind.”

Sesshomaru recognizing Rin’s playful expression smiled back in much the same way and responded, “Well too bad, as it appears, you have just enough strength.” Rin pouted as she starred at her handsome lord. The look was more then he could bear. He reached around her shoulders, taking care not to disturb her dislocated arm, and gently lifted her upright. She had a lovely scent and he was glad that she had enough energy to be playful with him. Before sitting her up he leaned into her crock of her neck and took a deep breath and whispered in her ear, “I’m glad to see some of your spirit return, this makes me happy.” Rin blushed at his gesture and smiled at his words. She was just elated that he was showing her so much attention.

Sesshomaru began help feed Rin; she was doing better, even though her left arm was still immobile. He felt compelled to be her second arm, seeing as she only had use of one. As she ate she playfully offered food to her lord, which he ate to please her. Rin felt so free and loved in these moments with Sesshomaru. She hoped that soon he would realize he wanted her as much as she wanted him.

“Lord Sesshomaru, it really wonderful that you’ve decided to stay by my side, during this ordeal. I can’t begin to thank you for your kindness.”

“Kindness.” He thought, but then he noticed her expression. It was one of admiration mixed with the same passionate stare she gave him that exciting night at the lake so many nights ago. But this time he welcomed this stare. It made him think about the nights to come, that he will fight off her urges to bed him, an aspect that excited his inner beast.

“I’m just happy that you are recovering quickly, we cannot leave until you are well enough to travel. Its better that we leave this village in case something else decides to attack it.”

“We?” she asked with a smile of anticipation.

“Yes, I have decided that it isn’t safe for you to stray. I have too many enemies that would try to take advantage of you if you were left alone. Unless you wish not to come with me?”

“Yes!” she screamed excitedly “I’m so glad that you wish me to with you. I want nothing more than to be with you.” She was so happy that she began to tear up. Then she tried to muster all of her strength to reach out to her lord, she moved slowly. Sesshomaru bent over to steady her. Making it easier for Rin to reach out for him.

“What are you doing? Please stay still…”

She then ran her right hand over his face and guided it down to hers. She then reached up and kissed him gently. Sesshomaru wanted so badly to kiss her, and watching Rin spend all of her energy to do just that made him want to reward her efforts. He reached over more and pulled her closer into his embrace. Where he took over the kiss, Rin began to stroke his silver hair with her free hand. The feeling made his inner beast growl with wanting passion. He wanted nothing more than to push her down and pleasure her then and there. But realized that she still wasn’t strong enough for that. He then decided that he would show his growing affection for her through his touch and kiss. He was beginning to answer his own tough questions, just by how much he wanted to be with her and please her. He couldn’t understand why he wanted her but loved the whole idea and anticipated when he would be able to have Rin.

Rin was elated by Sesshomaru’s response to her kiss; she knew that her fragile state gave him the compassion she was looking for. At that moment they both realized that she had melted his harden exterior.

As the two embraced and kiss, Sesshomaru hands began to slowly journey up and down her body. Rin let out a small moan against Sesshomaru’s lips as his hands found the valley between her breasts. This excited Sesshomaru’s inner beast and made him want to find more places that would please Rin’s body. Rin also tried to explore her intended lover’s form, but as she moved her hand away from his neck, down past his shoulder, toward his chest, she felt faint from pain. Which required her to break their kiss to gasp in pain. Sesshomaru thinking that he had strained her too much laid her down and starred down at her hungrily.

“I’m sorry, you’re not well enough. We probably should stop, but once your well we can revisit this intimate moment. But until then, relax.”

Rin looked at him lovingly. “I would…love to…I just wish…we could…I could be…as attentive…as you have…during this whole ordeal.”

Sesshomaru just smiled, then lowered his head again and began to kiss her on lips. But his lips didn’t linger there long, before he made his decent down to her ear and nibbled on her lobe. As Rin moaned he moved down to her neck where he ran his tongue up and down. He again breathed in her sweet scent that was now laced with passion. Before he could control himself he found himself nibbling at her pulsing vein with the intent of marking his mate. But in that moment realized two things: One, that he was actually in love with Rin, and Two, that he couldn’t mark her tonight, that he would have to wait until she was fit enough to handle all that his inner beast had in store for her.

As he began to pull away, Rin looked up at him with half lidded passionate expression, “Why did you stop? Please, you don’t know how long I’ve waited for you to pay me this kind of attention. I can tell that you wish to be with me too.

Her glance trailed down to the growing bulge in his lower region. Which made her blush and smile at the prospect of being with him, and loving the effect that she had on her lord.

“In due time, my dear Rin. You will know my touch soon. But rest for now and once you are better, then you will experience my growing love for you.” His stare showed the promise of what was to come.

“My lord, can I have you promise that will not go out in search of…”

“Hush, don’t you worry. You have inspired this, and it is only you that I seek. I cannot leave your side until you are better. Then you will never be able to be rid of me.”

Rin began to glow with his last comment, did that mean what she thought it meant? Was he really ready to have her as his mate? Did she really get him to fall in love with her?

Sesshomaru saw that she was lost in thought, and leaned down and kissed her forehead and let her fall asleep. Then he carefully tended to her wounds and massaged her as she rested. This kind of physical contact would have to be enough to satisfy his inner beast, until she was better and able for more. But knowing that it will be only a matter of time before he would lose his control and surrender to the beast within and take what it had always wanted.
