Chapter 6
Inuyasha ran back to the group after talking with Inutaisha. He found them sitting near the well. "Is Inutaisha alright?" Kagoru questioned Inuyasha.
"Yeah. It was just her sister." Inuyasha explained.
"Sessha, again. How many times does she have to come?" Kagoru commented angrily.
"Kagoru. We need to talk." Inuyasha said then grabbed his shirt and pulled Kagoru along with him.
"Inuyasha. Where are you going?" Kagome asked him.
"Just over here for a few minutes." Inuyasha said then continued dragging Kagoru into the forest. "Look, we need to have a talk." Inuyasha said to Kagoru.
"About what?" Kagoru questioned Inuyasha.
"What are you? Stupid? Inutaisha of course." Inuyasha asked angrily.
"What about her?" Kagoru questioned back.
"First off. Inutaisha is a girl. Even though she is my counterpart there are still some differences. Inutaisha, like me, does not need physical protection. However, she needs emotional protection. You can give her that." Inuyasha told Kagoru.
"I thought I was giving her that." Kagoru said honestly.
"All Inutaisha asks is for you to defend her every once in awhile. I don't think it is too much to ask for you to take her side on the whole dilemma about Kimi." Inuyasha responded.
"I was. You may not of heard me but I was defending her before." Kagoru explained.
"Yeah. Then right after you said 'you didn't have to be so mean Inutaisha.'" Inuyasha commented sarcastically.
"What do you want me to do?" Kagoru questioned Inuyasha.
"Apologize. Tell her how much you love her. I am not an expert but that should get her to talk with you again. Because the last time I left her she had been crying." Inuyasha told Kagoru.
"She was? Over what I said?" Kagoru asked him.
"No. Over the fact that you don't take her side when she is right. Look I know from personal experience how much I wish Kagome would take my side when I am in the middle of a fight with Koga. She doesn't that often and even though it irks me, I still handle it. Inutaisha is different. All she wants is for you to take her side." Inuyasha explained.
"Oh. Okay." Kagoru said.
"Come. I will take you to her." Inuyasha said as he once again dragged Kagoru with him.
They finally found Inutaisha sitting in the middle of a small clearing while fiddling with her hair. "Inutaisha." Kagoru said while walking slowly to her.
"What is it?" Inutaisha asked without any emotion in her voice.
"I've come to apologize." Kagoru told her. He watched Inuyasha walk off as not to interuppt them. "I'm sorry I did not take your side. Forgive me."
"Why can't you just understand?" Inutaisha asked him.
Kagoru kneeled beside her. "I love you." He admitted with a sigh. Inutaisha's eyes widened in surprise as Kagoru gently pushed her on her back. He then bent over her and kissed her lips softly. "Please believe me."
Inutaisha reached up and wrapped her arms around his neck. "I do. Thanks for apologizing."
"I'm afraid I would have been whipped if I didn't." Kagoru commented then kissed her lips again.
"Let's go back. I am tired." Inutaisha said as she stood up.
"Alright." Kagoru said as he followed her.
