Chapter Seven
Flat Lined

-Two Day’s Later-
Inu Tashio was sitting in his room that he once again gave to Kagome. She was laying on the bed in a mini coma. He had pulled up a chair by the bed and hadn’t moved except to use the restroom, shower, and eat what every little he ate. He didn’t want to miss her waking up, even though the doctor had said he didn’t know when it would be. He hadn’t slept at any point in time for the last two days. He was so worried about her, that every time he dozed off he came awaked in a panic and held her hand. She was plugged up to machines, which he didn’t even have a name for.
He had waited patiently for her to awake from her coma that she had slipped into while the doctor was healing her. She still had light bruises, but the cuts had been healed and the broken bones had been fixed and were as they once were. Inu Tashio had given some of his blood to Kagome in her time of need. She had been left with very little blood and Inu Tashio knew his blood would heal her faster, so he told the doctor to give her some of his blood. He still had nightmares of the time in the operating room, when she flat lined…
~Flashback~
“Fuck! What the hell did he do to her?!” the doctor yelled as blood kept coming instead of stopping. He was getting frustrated with all of it.
Kagome’s vital signs kept going up and down, making the doctor nervous that she was going to go under.
“How bad is it doc?” Inu Tashio asked. He had stayed in the operating room to keep an eye on everything. He didn’t truly want to be away from ‘his’ Kagome.
“How bad is it? It’s pretty fucking bad! She has bruises, cuts, gashes bleeding out like crazy, and broken bones. On top of all of that mess we can’t get her to stop bleeding out. So why don’t you tell me how bad it is!” the doctor yelled.
Inu Tashio blinked and decided to leave it alone. *Doc’s in a pissy mood…* he thought to himself.
The doctor finally got her x-ray finished and looked at it. *Oh man this is worst than I thought…*
“Inu Tashio get out of this room… now.” the doctor said with authority.
Inu Tashio looked at the man with raised eyebrows. “Why?” he asked curious now.
“I said so, that’s why. Just get out of this room, you can watch from the window if you wish to, but get out.” the doctor said.
Inu Tashio walked out of the room, but went to the window so he could keep an eye on the things going on inside. He was shocked at the machine they were bringing inside… the one for seeing a child inside the womb. It was then that Inu Tashio got a bad feeling and his heart rate jumped.
*No…* he thought.
Everything was plugged in and the doctor was rubbing the gel stuff on Kagome’s bruised belly, looking for anything at all. Demon children grew faster than normal, so there would be something showing up on that monitor if she was indeed with pup. There was nothing at all, so he slumped down and sat on the floor in relief.
He knew he shouldn’t feel so relief, but he did. He was glad his son didn’t pup Kagome…’his’ Kagome.
Then he heard it the machine gave a beep and he could hear the demon’s inside of the room moving around. He listened closely as did everyone else. They had set up another monitor, one for heart beats. One had been heard, but then if you listened very closely you could hear a faint heart beat as well. There were two heart beats.
Inu Tashio felt anger come flowing up inside of him. He had never in his life been this angry. It made him powerful. *I’ll find him and I’ll kill him for doing this to her. Not only did he hurt my mate he also pupped her, making her his for all eternity, even without a mark. No male in his right mind would mark a female that bares another’s pup inside of her.*
-We would-
*You would?!*
-Yes I would-
*I thought you wouldn’t touch a female that had been pupped already*
-She’s special and you know it… I would and am taking her-
*Thank you*
Inu Tashio sighed and thanked the Kami’s that his beast wanted what he also wanted.
All of a sudden he popped back up and looked into the window. The machines were going off like crazy, and man they were loud. Everyone was rushing around and yelling. He didn’t know what was going on, but then he looked at the heart machine… it was a flat line instead of the line that looked like hills.
*NOOOOO!* he thought.
In a blind panic he went running for the door, he got inside and ran to Kagome. He pulled her up into his lap and growled soothingly to her. His youkai was coming out before he realized it.
“Inu Tashio! You need to let her go so we can bring her back before it’s too late!” the doctor yelled at him.
He flashed his fangs at the doctor and continued doing what he was doing.
He purred at Kagome rubbed her arms and played with her hair. He was trying to sooth his self more than anything.
“Don’t go where I can’t follow Kagome.” he whispered, taking everyone by surprised as they watched the scene unfolding before them.
“Don’t leave me all alone again.” he whispered.
“I was alone, before, without anyone. Now you have come… and I find myself wanting to protect you and be with you for all eternity. In order to do what I wish to do, you need to be here.” he whispered to her.
“Please… don’t leave me Kagome.” Inu Tashio whispered as a tear slid down his cheek.
Beep
The doctor and other demons were shocked as hell when the heart machine beeped again.
Beep, Beep, Beep
They all watched as Kagome came back to them. The doctor looked at his lord and couldn’t help but smile. Then he looked at Kagome’s broken body. He still had a lot of work to do.
After they had found out she was with pup, they began to wrap her back wounds and make it strong enough to help heal her broken bones. There was only one problem. He didn’t know how long she had. She had bled too much to survive… soon they would be burying this female.
“My lord, may I speak with you in private?” the doctor asked.
“Of course.” Inu Tashio responded.
They walked out of the room after the doctor told his staff to continue what they had been doing.
“What is it doc?”
“She will not survive my lord.”
“Yes she will.” Inu Tashio growled.
“No my lord she will not.”
“How so?”
“She’s lost too much blood, and we can’t put a cast on her belly to heal her bones properly, because she’s with pup.”
Inu Tashio thought about it for awhile and then it was like a light came on in his mind.
“Take some of my blood and put it inside of her. My blood will heal her wounds completely. She will be saved.”
“Your blood could send her into shock and kill her.”
“It won’t… I just know it.”
“We will try it, but if she dies it’s on your head, not mine.”
With that the doctor went into the room and saw that his team had already put a cast on her arm.
“Stop what your doing. We are going to put some of our lord’s blood in her. It should heal her and give her the blood she is missing.” the doctor said.
“Doc that could kill her.” a demon said in shock.
“Yes I know, but our lord will not listen. If she dies it’s on him, not us.” the doctor said as he looked at Inu Tashio as he came into the room.
“She’s stronger than you know… she won’t die, not because of my blood.” Inu Tashio said.
After they took two pints of blood from Inu Tashio they slowly pumped it into Kagome. Her heart started racing and they held their breath. She didn’t flat line again though. Instead it worked. It worked really well.
In a matter of seconds her body was healing as it accepted the demon blood. She didn’t have enough to heal all the way so some bruises remained. The blood had healed everything else though. The pup’s heart beat was stronger as well.
They knew she would wake up soon, so they put her in Inu Tashio’s room. They kept her plugged up to the machine’s to make it easier to monitor everything.
After two hours though the doctor became frantic. He ran some more tests and then told Inu Tashio she had gone into a coma.
“Why is she in a coma?” Inu Tashio asked.
“Your blood instead of sending her into shock sent her into a coma. I have no idea when she’ll wake up my lord. We can only hope for the best.” he said.
~End of Flashback~
So here he was having nightmares and looking after the female of his choosing that just happened to be in a coma for Kami only knows how long. He was tired and couldn’t fight it anymore.
Inu Tashio passed out where he was sitting once again, but this time it was different. He was dreaming of his Kagome. She was smiling at him and happy that he found her.
~Inu Tashio’s Dream~
“Inu Tashio!” Kagome shouted as she saw him and started running towards him.
She jumped into his arms and he spun her around as he kissed her passionately on the lips.
“You found me…” she whispered as they broke the kiss.
“Of course I found you Kagome, I couldn’t do anything else.”
“Thank you… thank you very much for saving me.” Kagome whispered as she looked into his eyes.
“You need to wake up Kagome.” Inu Tashio whispered as a tear slid down his cheek.
“Why?” Kagome asked.
“Because… because… Because I want… I need you to come back to me Kagome.” Inu Tashio whispered.
“That life has pain and suffering in it. I don’t want to go back. It’s best if you just let go Inu Tashio.” Kagome said as she looked him in his eyes as they clouded over in sadness.
“Noooo… Don’t say that. I could never let go of you Kagome. I love you. More than you could ever imagine. I know the world is not perfect. But, it would be even more so without you in it. I need you, more than I have ever needed anyone. Please… please come back.” Inu Tashio said as the dream started fading.
~End of Inu Tashio’s Dream~
Inu Tashio came awake in a panic. His Kagome didn’t want to come back. He didn’t know if that was just a dream or if they really connected and talked for real. He looked around and noticed that in his sleep he had gotten on the bed and now he lay next to Kagome.
His heart felt like it was about to stop as she opened her eyes and gave him a smile.
“It better be worth it.” she whispered, and then she did something that surprised him and made him happy all at the same time. She turned towards him and curled up next to him, hugging him to her body.
