Wait For Me

All week they hadn’t spoken. Kagome had noticed that Sesshomaru always seemed to be writing something down on paper. She wondered what it was, but didn’t dare ask him. She just couldn’t. If they were to fix this… then it was up to him to do so since he was the one to mess it up.

She knew that maybe it was wrong to blame it on him, but she couldn’t help it. *Why couldn’t he just simply tell me the truth?* she thought to herself as she felt the tears coming back.

She wiped them away and stood up. She walked out of school and went to the ice cream shop. It was time for some Ben and Jerry’s to cheer her up. There’s nothing like chocolate for a broken heart… or so her mother always said.

She honestly couldn’t wait till Sunday. She looked forward to one thing… and one thing alone…getting the hell away from none other than Sesshomaru.

He was her drug and she needed rehab… badly.

You could ask anybody and they would all tell you that Sesshomaru was not the best writer in any form of the word. He plainly sucked at it. No ifs ands or buts about it… he SUCKED at it.

All week long he had been trying to come up with anything to make it up to Kagome. He couldn’t find anything. He knew music was her life. So he decided to write a song for her. Something he never did before.

It had to be special and he just couldn’t find anything to write about. Everything he thought of sounded corny and stupid.

By the time Saturday came around he had finally written something that would do. It wasn’t the best… but it was the best he was going to get.

He went to the store and bought a dozen red roses and a teddy bear. He arranged it so the teddy bear was hugging the flower vase. He walked to the air port as night fell.

“Boy you can’t be in this area!” yelled a security officer.

“Sir I gotta find the plane that is taking Miss. Kagome off to the U.S. Please… she’s my girlfriend and we had a huge fight. I need to do this.” Sesshomaru reduced himself to practically begging.

“Alright alright.” the security officer said as he started leading Sesshomaru to the private plane.

Sesshomaru went inside of the plane and found the seat that was reserved for Kagome. He placed the flower vase and bear in the chair so it wouldn’t fall over and she was sure to see it. He had the song in a little box that was between the bear and vase.

He made sure it looked perfect and left. He said thank you to the security guard and walked to the club. He wanted to hear the love of his life sing one last time… even if it was not good for him.

Kagome was nervous as she sat in her usual seat in the club. Lots of people from school had heard about her performance and came to watch her. They asked for her autograph knowing she was about to be famous all over the world. Her friends Miroku and Sango stayed by her wondering, where Sesshomaru was.

He walked through the door just as it was announced that Kagome was going up on stage. She walked right pasted him without flinching.

Sesshomaru sat in his usual seat and kept his eyes on her as she stood before the club.

“Tonight’s song will be a little different than what you are use to hearing from me. I hope you enjoy it.” Kagome said into the mic.

She was wearing a black mini dress with black boots and red lipstick as well as eye shadow. It made her look mysterious in some way.

The music came on and she closed her eyes feeling the music.

I thought we were suppose to tell each other

She looked up at Sesshomaru and kept her eyes on him and him alone. Sesshomaru swallowed.

The song ended and everyone was shocked. Then the clapping came. It nearly left Sesshomaru deft it was so loud. He had tears in his eyes… She most likely wouldn’t like the song he wrote and there was no way she was going to listen to him now.

Sesshomaru got up and left the club. He walked home alone and just fell to his knees in the yard. He couldn’t face anyone tonight. He just sat like that for the longest time as tears came rolling down his face.

Kagome said goodbye to her friends as she noticed Sesshomaru leaving. *No goodbye then I guess* she thought to herself as she hugged her friends and left with her new manager. They had loved the song… everyone had.

They put her into a limo and drove to the plane. When Kagome found her seat she was surprised to see the flowers, bear and a small box smashed in between them. She picked them up and grabbed the box. It fell out of her hand to reveal a paper.

She recognized Sesshomaru’s handwriting. She also noticed that the words on the paper were lyrics.

She sang them aloud as she read with tears in her eyes. Everyone watched in surprise.

I know I have made some mistakes
and all I can do is ask for you
to forgive me

I don’t know how to fix this
maybe if you were by my side
then maybe I would have a chance

to say that I am truly sorry
that I never meant for this to happen

Tears flowed down her cheeks and the plane was about to take off.

“Wait!”

“Kagome we gotta go.” her manager said to her.

“Just give me a few minutes. I forgot something.” she said as she climbed down the steps before they could be removed.

She ran through the front gates and outside. Everyone looked at her as if she was a madwoman. She ran the blocks to Sesshomaru's house and stopped when she saw him on his knees crying. *He’s… crying?* she thought in wonder.

Sesshomaru wiped the tears away as he caught her scent on the wind. He jumped over and turned so fast she didn’t see the movement at all. He stood staring at her with wide eyes.

“Sess… I…” she couldn’t find the right words.

“I’m sorry Kagome.” Sesshomaru whispered.

“No Sess… I’m the one that’s sorry for not giving you a chance. I love you and I want you to wait for me alright?” Kagome said with a smile.

Sesshomaru stared at her with surprise shining in his gorgeous eyes.

“Of course I will wait for you Kagome.” Sesshomaru said as he walked the short distance to her and hugged her tightly. He kissed her so passionately that Kagome didn’t know where she started and he ended.

“I’ll come back… I promise.” Kagome whispered as she walked back to the airport.

AN: I'm terribly sorry that it's so short. Next time it will be longer alright? I hope you guys are not too mad at me for taking forever and a day to update. Things have been going on in my life and I'm trying to finish the stories I got so that I can make some new ones. Not going to have much time for them when I go to college in a few weeks so I'm trying to push them along. I hope you enjoyed this chapter though. Next one will be the last chapter by the way.
