Chapter 7
Lost Love


Everyone at camp had already started to get up by the time Kagome returned. But Sesshoumaru noticed a Demonic aura that was very close to Kagome, one he had thought to never sense again. When Kagome entered the clearing Inuyasha jumped up and was about to start demanding to know where she had been when Sasuna entered the camp. Inuyasha stopped what he was doing and his jaw dropped. A full blooded Youkai had somehow ended up with Kagome. How had he not sensed it? He should have been keeping closer watch on her. Wait… Something about the demon was familiar. Her aura and scent, they merged with Kagome’s. Her scent provided the missing link to Kagome’s and her Aura completed hers too. He wondered if Sesshoumaru noticed.

Sesshoumaru just stopped breathing when she entered the clearing. She was back, what was Kagome not telling him? He stood up and walked straight toward Sasuna. “Sasuna. Where did you go? Why did you leave?”

Sasuna was shocked that Sesshoumaru had remembered her, he had always been so cold. So… unfeeling. “I had to do something in the future. I knew about the well in Inuyasha’s forest. So I went but when I got to the other side and realized what you had been asking me, well the well house was on fire. I tried to get to the well. But I died. My body was burned, A few years later I felt the spirit of another call to my own. But when I went to it I was drawn into another being. A human woman that was with child. I at first thought it was the woman calling out to me but realized the power was coming from inside her. I was confused about how something so small and weak could gather enough power to call a dead demon to come to her. Well our spirits talked and she liked me for who I was not what I was, so she asked if we could share her life. She would give me another chance at life but I would need to share life with her. And I accepted, I have been her conscience and friend. When she was younger I was a friend more than anything else. Now I am equally her friend and conscience. Sesshoumaru when she finally absorbs my powers I will be, once more, complete her. Her soul has linked with mine so right now we are two halves of the same whole.”

“So you must leave again is that it? After you come back to me, you must leave.” Sesshoumaru couldn’t remember a time when he had been in so much pain.

“Sesshoumaru please, I won’t be gone. I will be within Kagome. You will have the two you love the most in one being.”

“Why did you return Sasuna? To torment me? To hurt me and everyone else around me?”

“No to help Kagome learn about my powers as much as possible. I was hoping that you would help me with that task Sesshoumaru.”

“I will consider it. Now we must break camp and continue the journey to my lands.”

Everyone did their own part in breaking camp Sasuna and Kagome helping to take down the tents. Inuyasha cleaning the clearing of things such as trash and the fire pit was taken care of. Shippo and Miroku helped Sango pack the food and clothing away. Kirara and Sesshoumaru went to the river to get more water before they left. When they left Sasuna and Kagome, with shippo in her arms, were flying through the air. Apparently Sasuna had a demon cloud as well. As they were flying Sasuna was explaining how to use the cloud for transportation and a weapon. It was not a deadly weapon but it would be good for cover if the need arose to escape or for a surprise attack.

Sesshoumaru was way ahead of them already with the next stop in mind. Sasuna was back there teaching Kagome of the demon cloud. What he couldn’t figure out was if Kagome was the reincarnation of Kikyo then how could she be strong enough to take Sasuna into her? He had battled Kikyo and she wasn’t nearly as strong as Kagome. How then is Kagome her reincarnation? What if she wasn’t? If she wasn’t a reincarnation of Kikyo then what was she?

Kagome couldn’t get over the fact that she was a full blooded youkai born of a human, Sasuna said that they were rare. Born only once in a hundred years. This could explain how they had been able to merge together when she was still in the womb. She was told also that until the youkai’s 19th birthday they would appear and think they were human. She had turned 19 last week. Around the time she had noticed she was having conversations with herself. Her demon soul had started to awaken and was arguing with her, except when she was around Sesshoumaru.

*Inuyasha would love this*
~No he wouldn’t but you would love to tell Sesshoumaru. Aren’t you worried about Sasuna?~
*Why would I be worried about her? She is me, and I am her. She will be rejoining with me soon. As soon as I finish absorbing her demonic energy.*
~Alright but he won’t want to let go of his love after seeing her again.~
*I get the picture. Just stop.*
~Fine just don’t say I didn’t warn you ok…~

“Sasuna? Are you sure I will be ok after you leave again?”

“I am positive you are a very strong young woman with a man that loves you. Why wouldn’t you be ok?”

“What if he hates me after you leave again? What will I do then?”

“There is no worries that this Sesshoumaru will ever hate you Kagome. I will of course miss Sasuna, but the knowledge that you both are together with me will take the pain away.”

Sesshoumaru had been dropping back further and further until he could hear what was being said between the two women and when he had heard Kagome say that he knew he was the one that had to ease her fears. But he could not let her know what this party was about, he could allow her to know.

“Sasuna might I speak to you alone for a moment. It is very important.”

“Of course Sesshoumaru. Kagome your task while I am away is to maintain the cloud. Do not doubt yourself, it only makes your powers weak if you doubt. Understand?”

At Kagome’s worried nod Sasuna yelled down to Inuyasha, “Kagome is going to practice her new powers if she falls I want you to catch her… If you don’t I will kill you understand me?”

“What?! Why are you telling me what to do!? If Kagome falls I hope you or Sesshoumaru catches her because I won’t!”

“Inuyasha?” Kagome said sweetly, “If you don’t catch me I will sit you until you can’t move for a week!”

“FINE!!! I’LL CATCH YOU! Sheesh you and that damn command!!!”

“SIT BOY!”

“AHHHHH”

Sasuna and Sesshoumaru moved off a little ways to talk and Kagome found she was wondering what they were talking about.

“Sasuna this party is meant for Kagome, she is to be my mate if she accepts. I need to know that you will do nothing to let her know why I am throwing this party. Please Sasuna, I love you but she is my new love and I did not think it possible that I would love again. Please tell her nothing.”

“Sesshoumaru of course I won’t I know you love her. I know for a fact she loves you. I am happy for you both and I will be with you through it all. I only have a few more days. She grows stronger and stronger. I stopped supplying the demon cloud three hours ago. She is doing it all. Though she does not know it yet.”

“Thank you Sasuna. I will miss you. I know that you care about Kagome.”

Going back to where Kagome was alone, on her own demon cloud, Sasuna looked at her and said, “Congratulations Kagome. For the past 3 hours you have not only supported the cloud but supplied it.”

Kagome looked at her in astonishment, “I-I supplied it? But how I don’t know how?”

“It comes naturally, when you need it, it will come. Now we should be landing soon I think there is a site not to far from here. It has a clearing that is canopied and a hot spring a short way away.”

“Then we will stop there for the night. We are almost there, tomorrow we will cross the border into my territory. After that it is only two days to my home.”

“Really we are that close? Oh Sesshoumaru! I can’t wait to see your home.”

Slowly descending toward the spot Sasuna had described Kagome studied Sesshoumaru. She wondered why he had even invited her. Why bother with her, he had assumed she was human, everyone had. They still didn’t know all of the truth only Sasuna and herself did. So why bother?

Landing in the clearing, everyone started to set up camp. Kagome set up the tent, with the help of Sango they were done well before everyone else and decided to go down to the hot spring to chat.

Seeing where they were going Sasuna decided not to tag along she knew what would happen at the spring and didn’t want to interfere. Looking at Sesshoumaru she knew that Kagome was the best choice for him. She would protect their pups like she did her friends. With a fierceness of a Lioness. She knew Sesshoumaru would know that, and smiled to herself, she wondered when Kagome would tell them all about her. About how she was a Full blooded Youkai.

~~~~Meanwhile at the spring~~~~~~

“Sango? Can I tell you something, but you have to promise not to tell anyone else.”

“Of course you can Kagome you know that.”

”I am a full blooded youkai demon. Have been since birth. Apparently once every 100 years a Youkai demon is born to human parents; that is how I was able to merge with Sasuna.”

”So you are a demon, and not just any demon but a Youkai? Wow that would explain why you are so powerful. But aren’t you Kikyo’s reincarnation?”

“Apparently not. Her soul was put in me while my own soul matured. After my soul woke up on my 19th birthday her soul was released.”

“Are you going to tell the others about this? I believe they all have the right to know.”

“Not just yet, I want to find out why Sesshoumaru invited me to this party. Then I will tell everyone. Including Sesshoumaru.”

“Ok, I will not tell anyone. Not even Kirara, but you should tell them soon.”

“Thanks for understanding Sango! I love you as though you were my sister!”

“And I love you too Kagome!”

Leaning back in the hot water Kagome gave a big sigh and smiled. She couldn’t stop thinking about the proud youkai lord. Sango watched her friend in silence, she hadn’t seen Kagome this happy since she had kissed Inuyasha. It wasn’t much of a kiss, but still a kiss. She was truly happy for her friend.

Kagome looked into his eyes as the moon rose over the treetops. She couldn’t help but notice how they sparkled in the soft light. She leaned forward to get a better look at that slight sparkle. It was wonderful to have someone look at her like that. Sesshoumaru leaned forward his eyes never leaving hers as their lips touched. He moved his arms around her, caressing her back in soft circles. Spreading wider and wider circles until one hand was in her hair, the other on her waist. He moved the one on her waist up her side to cup her breast. He began to gently massage her breast making Kagome whimper. He licked her neck making her shiver slightly, he wrapped his tail around her making sure she couldn’t get away. He started to nibble on her neck moving slowly downward across her collarbone. Kagome felt like she couldn’t stand anymore. She was about to ask Sesshoumaru to help relieve the tension she was feeling low in her abdomen.

“Kagome? I think it is time to get out.”

“Oh I am sorry Sango. I guess I got lost in another daydream.”

“Kagome I hope your hopes are not crushed by this. If he hurts you I will hurt him.”

“Thanks Sango. I don’t think that will be necessary though. It means a lot that you are willing to do that for me.”

Getting out of the hot spring Kagome Quickly got dressed. She walked back to camp with Sango chatting all the way.
