The morning after
A/N: Sorry for the long wait, but we lost two people at work due to college and guess who is now shift bitch. Oh well, I hope you all enjoy this one we are back in the past.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Back in the past Taijina had just reached the village as the sun set completely. As she approached Kaede’s hut, Sango and Miroku exited prepared for a fight. Rolling her eyes, Taijina shifted Ash on her shoulder.
“I’m not here for a fight,” Taijina told them as she approached. They stood down at her words, and looked at her confused. “If I wanted to kill you, you would have been dead already.”
“So then what is it ye demon wants here,” Kaede asked as she walked out of the hut.
“Lord Sesshomaru doesn’t want Ash at the palace,” Taijina sighed, as she shifted the unconscious Ash one her shoulder once more. “I can not leave her unattended in her condition so I have come here to ask for help. Also Lord Sesshomaru has asked me to inform you that he has taken InuYasha into his care, and InuYasha shall return when he is able.”
“What has happened,” Sango gasped, as she looked at the demon then to the girl slung over her shoulder.
“Lord Sesshomaru has made InuYasha pack,” Taijina replied, as she placed Ash on the ground. “And this one has exerted herself and powers. Why, you will have to ask her when she awakes. Farewell.”
“Hey wait a minuet!” Miroku screamed after Taijina as she disappeared into the woods. Looking down at the girl, Miroku picked her up and headed into Kaede’s hut, the others followed him. Setting Ash down, they sat in a circle around her.
“Well she appears not injured,” Kaede stated as she stared at the girl. “She is dirty and appears warn.”
“Are you sure she is okay?” Sango asked, as she looked at Ash. Then Ash rolled onto her stomach and started snoring loudly. “Never mind.”
Taijina buried her head further into the warmth of her fur blankets, trying to ignore the disturbance keeping her from sleep. As soon as she arrived at the castle, a servant had informed her that her old room had been in tacked. Perfectly left alone, but kept up so there was no dust in the room. Upon seeing her bed, she took off her clothes and jumped on to the bed, burring herself in her fur blankets. Falling into a peaceful sleep she hadn’t experienced in ages, she was agitated when awoke by the noise outside. asleep.
“Forget it,” Taijina hissed, as she sat up in her bed flinging her blanket to the side. The noise coming from the hall outside was getting louder. Shaking the sleepiness away, Taijina tried to get her surroundings in check, as she yawned.
“BASTARD!” InuYasha screamed as he busted into Taijina’s room and slammed the door. Screaming, Taijina clutched the blanket to her as InuYasha turned and went completely red.
“WHAT ARE YOU DOING! GET OUT!” Taijina roared from the bed. Then to her mortification Sesshomaru threw the door open.
“What is going on in here?” Sesshomaru asked, trying not to smirk at the two blushing Youkai in the room.
“Absolutely nothing but me going back to bed,” Taijina replied as she laid back down pulling the covers over her head.
“Why am I here Sesshomaru,” InuYasha growled, flexing his claws.
“I’ve already told you,” Sesshomaru replied, his cold mask in place. “You are now pack and were injured. All injured pack members will be cared for by pack healers and no one else.”
“Why did you leave Taijina in the woods to die then,” InuYasha sneered, as Taijina groaned and rolled onto her stomach.
“Leave my name out of your squabbles please,” Taijina yawned from underneath the blankets. “Also can you not fight in my room, I was enjoying my sleep.”
“Lazy bitch,” Sesshomaru snorted as his eyes flashed to the bed, then back to InuYasha. “Fine both of you will remain in here until you learn proper respect.”
“WHAT?!” InuYasha and Taijina gasped as Sesshomaru walked out and shut and locked the door. Taijina sat up on the bed, still clutching the blanket to her chest.
“That bastard,” she gasped, in shock her and InuYasha were now locked in the same room. “Son of a damnable bitch! Oh well.”
“Oh well?” InuYasha repeated, as he stared at her. “He just locked us up.”
“Indeed he did,” Taijina yawned as she laid back down. “He is the Alpha, and can do as he pleases.”
“You are seriously not going back to sleep,” InuYasha gaped at her as she rolled onto her side.
“I am,” she yawned again, then patted the empty space next to her. “You are injured and need to rest.”
“What?!?!” InuYasha gaped as a blush crept to his cheeks. He had not forgotten she was still naked underneath the blankets.
“Really now InuYasha,” Taijina snorted as she smelled his discomforted. “I am underneath the sheets, and it is not like we have never slept in the same bed before. Of course you were just a pup.”
“But…but,” InuYasha stammered, as Taijina sat back up, blanket still wrapped around her. Shaking her head, laughter sparkled in her silver eyes.
“You are still a pup at heart,” she giggled, and laid back down and turned to face the wall. “Just get in the damn bed and rest.”
“Fine,” InuYasha snorted as he laid down with his arms crossed, refusing to look at her. Drifting back to sleep, she heard a heavy sigh from InuYasha. Turning over she stared at him, his golden eyes showed he was lost in thought. His aura was filled with an overwhelming sadness.
“You know five hundred years isn’t really that long of a time,” Taijina told him, trying to comfort the inconsolable Hanyou. “InuYasha.”
“I can’t understand what has happened,” InuYasha sighed, as he looked down at her face. “One day, one damn day I find my love gone, attacked by my brother and forced to submit, and now I am his pack member. What the hell happened!”
“I’m still trying to understand that myself,” she sighed, as she tightened the sheet around her and sat up. “But from what I can tell Kagome and the kit are in her time and Sesshomaru attacked and nearly killed us both. Plus I left Ash with the slayer and monk.”
“Ash?” InuYasha looked at her confused.
“It’s better if you don’t ask,” Taijina laughed as she thought of her immortal friend. “So will you wait for her or let time consume you?”
“I would wait till the end of time for her,” InuYasha replied, staring into her eyes. “She is worth it.”
“Well thankfully it won’t be that long, just five hundred years. You are already one day down,” she replied. Letting out a yawn, she stretched feeling the pull of her unhealed back. “Ow.”
“He did a number on you huh,” InuYasha stated, as he stared at the door. Taijina let out a snort then followed his eyes to the door. Knowing his plan, she shook her head before she laid back down.
“You’ll just harm yourself more,” she told him as she snuggled into her blankets. “Sesshomaru wouldn’t put a door in his home just any Youkai could break down. Just rest.”
“You and this damnable rest,” InuYasha sneered. A few minuets passed before InuYasha could make out her evening breath, signaling she was asleep. Staring at the door, he found himself drifting to sleep.
Ash popped her head through the window a hour later. Letting herself into the room she surveyed the scene before her. Tip toeing towards Taijina she prepared for the cranky demoness to awake when the door opened. Turning toward the door she saw Sesshomaru standing there, and he beckoned her to come to him with a finger. Following him out into the hallway, he closed and relocked the door.
“What are you doing here human,” his voice filled with contempt. His dislike of the strange female could be sensed, after all he knew almost nothing about her. Well except she was crazy and had powers dealing with the well.
“I came to make sure you didn’t try to kill her again,” Ash replied as she leaned against the wall across from her. “But I’m sure if you wanted her dead she would be dead. Anyway, what are you going to do with the sleeping couple?”
“They are recuperating from injuries. I am just making sure they do not further harm their selves,” Sesshomaru informed her. He then turned his back on her and started walking down the hall. “Now leave my palace.”
“Cold hearted just like she said,” Ash giggled as she faded from the castle, her spirit returning from the Astral plane and back into her body. Her eyes opened slowly, being greeted by three curious humans and a fire cat. “Well this is new.”
