Healing A Broken Heart

A few blocks down the road from the club the Yoaki met with an older version of himself and a half-breed hanyou that both held human disguises. He was rubbing the fading burn marks that the miko had left on his arm. “I saw her father”

Sesshomaru arched a brow. “And is she alright?”

Nodding the younger yoaki sighed. “Yes she’s not changed a bit. She thought I was you, but you were right she is beautiful even with a human disguise in place”

Sesshomaru seemed pleased to hear this bit of information. He glanced over to his half brother. “Well Inuyasha what do we do now?”

“Why are you asking me?” He snorted. “It was your brilliant idea to have ourselves brought back to this time. It’s been three years since we’ve seen the girls. Im amazed Rin even thought Rasha was you”?

Obviously the yoaki that Kagome had burned was Sesshomaru’s son Rasha. In the Feudal era they had been ready to break the seal on the well but someone had been to the well already. All that remained was broken rubble. It was impossible for anyone to ever use it to come through again, the Snake yoaki using Satara’s stole power had waited until Sesshomaru’s son was older before he froze Inuyasha, Rasha, and Sesshomaru in the place where Kagome’s family would build the shrine. The three would wake in the present, but when they did everything around them was changed and alerted. Of course Inuyasha knew what to expect and had warned Sesshomaru and Rasha before hand.

“You know this time and place Inuyasha how can I get closer to Rin with out her fleeing from me” Sesshomaru spoke, glaring at his annoying half brother.

Before Inuyasha could even hope to answer his dog-ears perked as he looked past his brother with a smirk. “I don’t think your going to need to worry about that Sesshomaru. Here they come”

Both Sesshomaru and Rasha turned, coming down that sidewalk at full speed Rin and Kagome were running. Kagome’s features registered something close to surprise, while the look on Rin’s face was nothing less then furious.

Inuyasha was met by a hugging crying Kagome; she was squeezing him so tightly he swore he heard his back crack in three different places. He tried to peel her off, or make her break the death hold. “Kagome calm down your going to make a scene” He was saying those words, but at the same time he was returning that tight hug. Refusing to let himself start crying at such an enthusiastic welcome from the woman he loved.

Sesshomaru turned towards Rin; he was met with a brutal slap to his cheek. Followed by a low angry snarl. “Sesshomaru How DARE you follow me to this time! After everything you did to me! Leaving me when I was changed not helping me to understand my powers!”

Rasha just stood there, his jaw dropping slightly as he saw the woman actually slap his father. No human, or yoaki male or female ever would dare to lay a hand upon his father with out losing his or her very lives. What surprised the yoaki more was that Sesshomaru did nothing to the Inu female. “Father your going to let this bitch disrespect you like that?”

Sesshomaru felt the hard slap; it wasn’t enough to really hurt him. But the blow was welcomed it told him that Rin was indeed alive and he wasn’t dreaming this meeting for the first time. Before he could reply to his son’s question Rin’s eyes focused on Rasha. “As for you” She was about to start cussing him for daring to call her a bitch when she realized he had called Sesshomaru Father. “You’re his son” Her eyes darted from Sesshomaru to Rasha then back to Sesshomaru.

“No” She shook her head, giving a brittle laugh. “I can’t believe this” She started to back away; the resemblance between the two was too uncanny for it not to be real. “I knew it” She straightened her spine; she had stopped crying over Sesshomaru a long time ago. “The markings, the way he looks like you” She shook her head. “Now I know why you didn’t try to find me” Turning she started to walk away. “I guess you were far to busy with Satara to ever care for me. Well Lord Sesshomaru I hope your truly happy and I hope that bitch gave you a flaming case of genital herpies!” She had learned all about STD’s from reading Kagome’s books.

“Herpies?” Both Rasha and Sesshomaru asked out loud, looking from each other to the enraged female.

Kagome had calmed down enough to let go of Inuyasha, brushing her hair from her face as she smiled at the hanyou before shooting Sesshomaru a scathing hate filled look. “Obviously in your time STD’s didn’t exist well in my time things are different” She then looked around, expecting to see the hateful Inu-witch lurking. “Where is Satara Sesshomaru? Don’t tell me she actually let you send her Son to try and lure Rin away”

Inuyasha knew Kagome was treading on some dangerous ground, but he felt she had a right to be mad at his brother. Both girls had every right in the world to be hateful. “Kagome” He shook his head. Trying to stop her from saying too much.

Sesshomaru looked at Kagome, his eyes growing icy and hard. “Satara is dead Kagome” His eyes shifted towards Rin the girl had only went a few feet away before she had stopped. “She only had one purpose and that is done”

Rasha of course knew everything that his mother had done; he did not hate or even disrespect his father for what he had done. “Satara gave birth to me and my father took her life after we found the well destroyed”

Rin turned and just shot Rasha the same look she had given Sesshomaru. Obviously she didn’t care much for him either. “I don’t care what her purpose was or that she served it” Her lip curled into a sneer. “Your father left me, it was his fault that I ended up becoming an Inu-yoaki. If he had stopped her from throwing me into a wall I would still be mortal”

Moving forward Rasha was growing tired of the bitch’s sharp tongue. Didn’t she realize that Sesshomaru had tried to find her; he had tried to return to her as soon as possible. Obviously none of that was good enough. “Rin it wasn’t as if he wanted to abandon you like that, he had no choice he had already told half the yoaki population that he was to take Satara as his mate. If he hadn’t done what he did he would be at war!”

Sesshomaru held up one hand, shaking his head as he looked towards his son. “No Rasha she does have every right to be mad.” Slowly he started to approach Rin. “Perhaps if I hadn’t let my pride get in my way I could’ve told you a long time ago that I loved you. Some way your nigen self found a way to worm past my defenses you melted the ice that was my frozen heart. No Rin I was foolish my pride would not allow me to accept a nigen as my mate. I would never bring hanyou children into my family” He now hesitated looking towards Inuyasha. “Not after what my brother went through when he was a child.”

Rin listened to them both, she heard Sesshomaru’s words but she had stopped caring such a long time ago it didn’t matter so she interrupted him. “Well Sesshomaru your words of love are to damn late. I stopped loving you when you left me by that well changed into this” She motioned towards herself, dropping her human disguise. Standing there proudly, the wind blowing her ebony hair around her form. “Maybe if you hadn’t been so full of pride Inuyasha would’ve had a family he always deserved. You don’t even deserve your brother’s love or respect”

Kagome and Inuyasha both were standing a respectful distance away, eyes bouncing from Rin to Sesshomaru and his son. Listening with out daring to speak up, both knew that Rin had to say her peace with out being stopped.

Flinching as Rin’s words found their mark he would continue to speak. “I did what I knew would hurt you the most Rin. I hunted the different territories until I found Satara and when you came down to Dinner I made sure to Sit Satara at my side. I did that all purposely I had to make you stop loving me but never did I wish for Satara to almost kill you”

Rin scoffed, shaking her head. “Sesshomaru you could’ve just told me but no you had to break my heart in the worst way possible. Kagome was right you know she couldn’t heal me because I didn’t want to live. Knowing that you didn’t love me what did I have to live for? You saved me when the wolves killed me, you took my flowers when I brought them and always when you thought no one was looking you’d smile just the tiniest bit. The Shikon jewel saved me, I don’t know why but I know it gave me another chance and you know the old saying”

She turned, her back to Sesshomaru. “Third time’s a charm. Well im not going to waste my life worrying over you. Obviously all you wanted Satara for was a child, is that why you proclaim your love to me now? You need someone to warm your bed”

Kagome had heard enough, she pulled away from Inuyasha. Gently putting one hand on Rin’s shoulder. “Lets go home Rin, you don’t need to deal with any of this right now.” She glanced back giving Sesshomaru and Rasha a glare of daggered proportion. Leading Rin down the street, she waved a cab down. Opening the door to let Rin slip inside, naturally the yoaki had taken her human disguise once more.

“Kagome Wait!” It was Inuyasha. “When can I see you again?” He asked, worry evident in his beautiful eyes. He thought when Kagome pulled away from that curb she’d be gone once again.

Ushering Rin into the cab, she looked over to Inuyasha. “You know where I live Inuyasha your more then welcome to come” She paused glancing towards Father and Son. “As long as it’s JUST you” Then she got into the cab slamming the door.

Sesshomaru watched as the taillights of the cab winked away, he turned and just looked at his brother. “I deserved that and I know I did”

Inuyasha hmphed a bit folding his arms over his chest as he stared at his brother, “Yes you did” He couldn’t help but agree. He didn’t get the chance often to know that the great Lord Sesshomaru was wrong. “What are you going to do now? Obviously she won’t let you back into her heart”

Rasha was frowning. “Father perhaps it’s better if you just give up on her. She seems dead set on hating you beyond words. Even her friend seems against you, that nigen is dangerous,” He was thinking about the burn inflicted by her touch.

Sesshomaru pulled a cell phone from his pocket, flipping it open before bring it to his ear. “Jaken bring the limo around” He then flipped the phone shut, slipping it back into his pocket.

“Kagome is not dangerous Rasha, she was protecting her friend from a strange yoaki. Nothing dangerous about that” He looked to Rasha then Inuyasha. “I know deep down Rin still loves me. I just have to find out how to make amends and see if she’ll let me back into her heart”
