“Man this guy is not going to be happy when he wakes up…” Riyo said, looking down at the unconscious hanyou in his arms.
”He never is…” Kagome said, remembering all the times he had yelled at her for no apparent reason.
“Then how do you put up with him?” Riyo asked.
Kagome answered with another question. ”You see those beads around his neck?”
“Ya…” Riyo said, noticing them for the first time.
“Well all I have to do is say sit and…” Kagome was cut off by a loud WHAM!, then a sound of pain from Riyo, who was in what looked like a very uncomfortable position.
“Oh my god! I’m so sorry Riyo I really didn’t mean to say it!” Kagome gasped, wondering if Riyo had broken anything.
”No problem…” said Riyo in a raspy voice.
“Can you get back up?” Kagome asked, worried.
“I think so,” said Riyo, as he stood up, with a slight stagger.
“Alright. Lets get going… The others are probably already worried about me…” Kagome said.
”Others? Oh! You mean the demon slayer, the monk, and the kit, right?” Riyo asked.
“Yep, but don’t call them that, call them by their names. Ok?” Kagome said, correcting him.
“Ya. I will.” Riyo said, breaking into a run and saying “I’ll race you to the village”
“Riyo! Slow down! This bag is heavy!” Obviously forgetting that Riyo is carrying the unconscious hanyou.

At Kaede’s village
‘You idiot! Now she’s going to be asking questions!’ Riyo thought to himself, obviously about his slip up around Kagome.
“Who might ye be, and why are ye carrying Inuyasha?” an old woman asked Riyo as he walked by, absorbed in thought.
“Oh! My name is Riyo, and I’m carrying Inuyasha because he attacked me, and I was forced to render him unconscious. On top of that, Kagome does not have the physical strength to carry him.” Riyo answered, politely, realizing that it must be Kaede, the elderly village miko.
“How do ye know Kagome?” She asked, curious.
“She’s a friend of mine, speaking of which…” Riyo said, as he looked behind the old woman “Hey! Kagome could you pick up the pace? I would like to get to the village before noon tomorrow!”
“Shut up Riyo! This duffel bag of yours is heavy!” She complained.
“Fine then.” Riyo said, as he put Inuyasha down, ran over to Kagome, grabbed his bag, slung it over his shoulder, goes back and picks up Inuyasha. “Lets go.”
“Isn’t that heavy?” Kagome asked, surprised.
“Not really. I’m used to carrying this much weight.” Riyo then looked over to the old woman. “Sorry about yelling in your ear.” He apologized.
“Ye need not be concerned.” She answered.

Later that day
(A/N Inuyasha is still unconscious)
“So let me get this straight, you’re a close friend of Kagome’s and you’re from her time.” Miroku asked.
“Yes.” Riyo answered.
“How did you meet Kagome?” Sango asked.
“We go to the same school” Riyo replied.
“How did you pass through the well? As far as we know only Kagome and Inuyasha can.” Miroku asked, slightly confused.
“I can’t tell you as of yet, but I assure you that I will in time.” Riyo said, deciding to be cryptic.
“Why did you come to this era?” asked Miroku.
“I never have and never will let one of my friends get into harms way.” Riyo answered, obviously getting annoyed with all the questions.
“I think we can trust him Miroku, but I think we’re going to have to train him in how to wield a weapon…” Sango said.
“Excuse me,” Riyo interrupted.
“I think your right Sango.” Miroku said, in response to Sango’s statement.
“Excuse me!” Riyo exclaimed, making Sango and Miroku look at him in surprise.
“Thank you! I have something to show you.” He said, glad he finally got through to them.
“Then show us this thing…” Sango said, suspiciously.
“Not in here… Lets go outside.” That said, Riyo picked up his duffel bag and walked out of the hut, the others right behind him.
