I don’t own any of these names or Inuyasha, but I do own the story. I hope everyone enjoys this story; I had to put a lot of thought into this one.

~~~Chapter 7: The Kiss~~~

Sora wrapped his arms tightly around Kaori’s waist, pulling her close to him. Her beautiful eyes reflected the radiance of the sunset over the beach just outside the marketplace as he gazed into her silvery depths. She smiled up at him warmly, accepting his embrace as he bent over and kissed her lips softly. No sooner as he placed his lips upon hers then Jet found them.

“Remove your hands from the princess before I slay you where you stand filthy peasant!” Jet demanded as pulled out his sword.

Sora looked questioningly at Kaori, having no idea what was going on. Kaori hung her head, not able to look him in the eyes. “Jet go home!” she yelled out.

“I will not leave without you!” He snorted. “What on earth would possess you to do such a thing as to run off into the city and mingle with such commoners? Especially when you are to wed me. You will not get out of our marriage. I will especially see to that now. You have no purpose mingling with commoners such as him. You are royalty. Start acting like it.”

Sora stood there in shock just staring at Kaori trying to absorb all the information he had just heard. “Is this true?” He questioned, praying for her to answer no.

Kaori looked up at him with pleading eyes. “I am so sorry. I am the princess and I am betrothed to Jet.” She sighed and looked into his eyes. “But I’d rather have you.”

Sensing their closeness Jet ran up to the two, yanking Sora from by her side and punching him to the floor. Blood started pouring out from Inuyasha’s nose as Kouga made full contact. Inuyasha wiped the blood from his nose and continued the fight, landing two punches square in Kouga’s jaw, knocking him flat on the ground.

Miroku was infuriated. They weren’t supposed to make actual contact and Kouga knew that. Kouga was wasting his fucking money pulling a stunt like this. “Cut, god dammit, cut!” Security had to step in to hold Kouga back because he wasn’t about to give up. Inuyasha just laughed. “Kouga, what in the hell were you thinking?”

Kagome ran over to Inuyasha, along with all the other women, to see if he was okay. “Kouga, why would you do such a thing?” She asked him while tending to Inuyasha’s nose.

Kouga just shrugged his shoulders as if it was nothing. “It’s not like I meant it. I just overthrew the punch. It was an accident.” He grinned. “He’s the one who attacked me. I was just following the script.”

Miroku completely ignored his last comment, knowing it wasn’t true. He was more pissed about all the time and money that he wasted. “I don’t care if it was an accident! Now we have to fix you up and re-shoot the whole scene! Just get it right this time!” Miroku yelled and stomped off, knowing there was nothing he could do without having to re-shoot a major part of the movie.

After everyone finished getting touched up they continued the filming. Nothing changed, Kouga landed the punch a second time, except Inuyasha ignored it and just continued the scene. Getting no reaction from Inuyasha, Kouga messed up, causing at least three more takes, each time landing the punch.

When the scene was finished Miroku pulled Kouga aside. There was no excuse for his behavior. He had just cost Miroku over $10,000. “If you pull anymore shit like you pulled today I will make sure you never get a job in Hollywood again. And you will reimburse me for the money you wasted pulling your little stunts.”

As the sun began to set, the day’s shooting was over, everyone prepared to go home. Kagome glanced around the set to find Inuyasha, spotting him within a circle of women, all pampering his wounds. As if he felt her gaze on him he quickly looked up and met her gaze with a loving smile and a wink. Butterflies danced in Kagome’s stomach as she waved goodbye to him, longing for their meeting tonight.

Kouga watched Kagome lustfully as she made her way across the set. He hadn’t missed the exchange between her and Inuyasha. ‘Could he be the one she had ‘fun’ with last night? Why would she mess with him, an engaged man, if she won’t mess with me because I am married? What makes him so special?’ He stepped in front of her, blocking her way. “Hey there hot stuff, great performance.”

Kagome rolled her eyes and pushed him out of the way. “Kouga, go to hell.”

He smiled wickedly and spun around to catch the view as she walked off. “Not unless I can take you with me!”

Inuyasha overheard and made his way to Kouga, following Kagome. “Angels aren’t allowed so it seems your shit out of luck.” He smirked as he walked by, trying to agitate Kouga.

“Mother fucker, don’t you ever speak to me again! Or do you want some more of what I gave you earlier?” Kouga spat out at Inuyasha’s feet.

Inuyasha got what he wanted and laughed. He spun around to face Kouga, Kagome and everyone else turning to watch the commotion as well. “Oh, do you mean those sucker punches while we were trying to get through that scene? Or are you mistaken, and you are talking about the time I laid you out on the floor before that? We aren’t wasting anyone’s time or money this time. Why don’t we give it a round?”

Kouga ran at Inuyasha full speed. “Aagghh! You will die you fucking freak!”

Inuyasha laughed and stepped out of Kouga’s way, sending Kouga straight into the pillar Inuyasha was standing in front of. Kouga hit the ground with a thud, trying to get up, but eventually passed out. “Maybe you should look where you’re going first.” He stepped over Kouga and all the women flocked him. He quickly made eye contact with Kagome, smiled, and winked before he broke through the crowd and headed back to his hotel room.

As he entered the hotel Kirara came up to greet Inuyasha. “Hey! Smart move! We all really enjoyed seeing Kouga make an ass out of himself!” She giggled as she recalled the incident.

“Well I’m glad I can amuse someone.” Inuyasha said impatiently, wanting to go change so he could go greet Kagome.

She jumped on his shoulders, excitedly bouncing around. “I got to see Bruce today while you were filming. He came by the set just to see me.”

Inuyasha smiled, shaking his head. “So that’s why you’re so excited.”

“It makes me so happy when I get to see him! Have you had a chance to see Kikyo?” She cocked her head to the side, acting like a schoolgirl.

Inuyasha furrowed his brows and turned away. “No I’m not quite as lucky as you are.”

Kirara frowned. “I am so sorry. I didn’t mean to get you down. I just ramble sometimes. I don’t think before I speak. I’m sure you’ll hear from her soon.”

He didn’t turn back around to face her. “I think I am going to call it a night Kirara. This bullshit with Kouga really wore me out.” ‘What a bunch of bull that is.’

“Have a great night Inuyasha!” She yelled out as he walked away and up the stairs.

As he got to his floor he open the door and was greeted by Sango, who looked none too happy. Was the whole world out to keep him away from her?

Before he could say hello, she started in on him. “What in the hell do you think you are doing to Kagome? You’re engaged for Christ’s sakes! I see how you look at her! She is a good person, she doesn’t need her heart broken right now!”

“Will you shut up!?” Inuyasha opened the door to his room and held it open for Sango. “Can we talk about this where not everybody can hear?!” He snapped.

Sango huffed and stomped into his room. “Fine.” But as soon as Inuyasha shut the door, she let it into him again. “Kagome doesn’t need this in her life right now. She just recently got over Hojou leaving her and breaking her heart. I don’t need her moping around again just when I’ve got her back to normal. Especially when you are just going to leave when the shoot is over to go back and marry your fiancée! You are no better than Kouga! And I thought you were loyal. I’ve even talked you up. No, you were just trying to get into her pants, just like every other sleazy man on the planet.”

Inuyasha held up his arms. “Whoa, hold on a minute there! You cannot compare me to that sleaze-ball Kouga, especially when the only contact I’ve had with Kagome was within a scene. What on Earth could possibly make you think that I’d cheat on my fiancée with some actress?” Inuyasha had to pull it out his ass now. “Kagome and I had fun yesterday morning, yes, but nothing happened.”

“If nothing happened, then why won’t she talk to me? She tells me everything?” Sango demanded to know, not liking being proven wrong.

“How am I supposed to know why friends drift apart? Hell, maybe she’s ashamed of being attracted to an engaged man! If you don’t mind, I have to get ready to go out.” Inuyasha held the door open for Sango and motioned for her to leave.

“Fine, but I’ll be watching you. I won’t let her heart be broken again.” She walked out the door never looking back.

Inuyasha sighed and shut the door, shaking his head in disbelief. ‘I knew this was going to be trouble. Maybe I shouldn’t show up.’

Just then his phone rang and he eyed it with a puzzled look. No one ever called him. There was no one he really wanted to talk to, but something told him to answer it. “Hello?”

An insecure female was on the other end. “Um, yes, uh, is Inuyasha there?”

Inuyasha smiled, he would recognize that voice anywhere. “No, unfortunately he died in that fight with Kouga this afternoon. He won’t be able to meet you tonight.”

Kagome smiled, immediately knowing it was him, but she’d play along. “Well, I was calling to cancel the meeting anyhow. Please send my condolences to his family.” A long silence fell over the line as she pretended to hang up.

Inuyasha’s throat tightened and he tried to hold it back, but it just came out. “Please don’t hang up.”

Kagome giggled into the phone, easing his fear that she hung up. “I would never do such a thing.” She said in the most angelic, innocent voice he had ever heard. “Thank you.”

“For what?” He asked confused.

“For distracting Kouga today. He would have followed me until some slut latched onto him or until Kagura showed up to check on him.”

“Oh it was my pleasure.” Inuyasha paused and looked at his watch, he only had two hours to get ready. Then it hit him. “Why are you really calling? You could have told me thank you when you saw me in two hours.”

Kagome hesitated before she could manage to form the words she was about to say, admitting her weakness. “I thought that hearing my voice might wash away any uncertainties you were having about showing up tonight, because I know you don’t like trouble and I am all that and more.”

It was like she knew what he was thinking, and it only made him yearn for her more. After kissing her on the set, his body craved her touch. It was way too short of a kiss for him. “I’ll show alright. Although my hands might have a mind of their own, I can’t be held responsible.”

The butterflies swirled in Kagome’s stomach at the thought of Inuyasha’s hands dancing up and down her body. “I’ll keep that in mind. But who knows? Maybe I’ll help them out a little. That is if I will see you in a little while?”

“Nor the heavens or the gods could keep me from you tonight my dear.”
