After lunch it was unanimously decided that it was a perfect day to go swimming. Inu yasha wasn’t particularly fond of swimming but he found the thought of seeing Kagome in her little blue bikini to enticing of an opportunity.

Once he was changed he went down stares, he didn’t like the raspy noise his swim trunks made when he walked, and the material felt so light and foreign. When he came downstairs he noticed that Kiran and Sei were wearing similar cloths, but with different colors and patterns. Sei had a white towel around his neck and was gibbering to Sachi who was wearing a pale pink bikini but with a white wrap that hung loosely on her hips. Inu yasha would have to have been an idiot to not realize how beautiful her body was, but she stole his gaze only for a moment until Kagome walked into the room.

She wasn’t wearing her blue bathing suit, but instead a white one with pink sakura blossoms on it. The bottoms and tops hand no fasteners but instead they tied in bows around her neck on and on her hips. Her hair was down and several locks fell over her creamy breasts. Inu yasha practically drooled.

“Everyone ready?” Kashi called from behind her. She was wearing Kagomes yellow suit. Mahiru came from the kitchen carrying a large red cooler.

“I got chips and coke.” Mahiru had lovely breasts though not as full as Kagomes, her hips were wider, and her green bathing suit revealed all. She had her hair clipped back with little burettes that had guitars on them.

Sei took the cooler from Mahiru. She smiled and thanked him. As they walked out the door Kiran eased up to Kagomes right side and started gibbering. Stupid meaningless crap like “How’s school been?” and “What classes are you taking?” Inu yasha fought to keep himself from punching him in the back of his fat head. Inu yasha and Mahiru walked in the front, Inu yasha kept his keen ears swiveled back so he could make sure Kiran wasn’t over stepping his boundaries. Kashi Sei and Sachi walked together in the back.

“So Kagome are you seeing anyone?”

Inu yasha stopped dead in his tracks and didn’t so much as flinch when Kiran plowed into him. Kiran on the other hand fell flat on his ass. Kagome stopped and kneeled down.
“Oh my gosh are you ok?”
“Yeah I’m fine…” Karin held his head. “But I feel like I just walked into a rock.” Kagome helped him up.

“Geez man, your like a brick wall…” Kiran laughed as he put his hand on Inu yasha’s shoulder.

“Yeah sorry bout that.” Kagome could have sworn she saw a grin on his face. To Inu yasha’s delight, Sachi pushed herself between Kagome and the pretty boy.

“So Kiran what’s been up lately?” Inu yasha droned out the small talk, he wasn’t concerned about what Kiran had to say to Sachi, as long as Kagome was left out of it. Kagome eventually fell back with Kashi and Sei.

“Isn’t the forest beautiful Inu yasha?” Mahiru beamed.
Inu yasha only shrugged.
“It’s hard to imagine something so sad happening in such a beautiful place.”
“What do you mean?”
“Well along time ago, probably a little after your time…maybe before, I’m not to good with dates….anyways A girl fell in love with a demon. A talented Songstress, she was the most beautiful girl in all the lands, many great lords sought her for their bride even though she was a commoner, but she would never give in to their charm. She said that she had already given her heart to a demon boy.

“Well the lords were furious, they sent their armies out and ordered them to kill the demon boy so that they might take the beautiful girl for there own. They were going to burn down the entire forest. When the girl met with her love she told him of the danger. He told her that he could defeat any army of mortal men, but he could not do so while worrying about her, so he said for her to wait for him at this lake, so that she would be safe from both the soldiers and their fire.” By this time all of them had gathered around Mahiru and were listening intently.

“The girl waited for three days and three nights, but on the fourth day something horrible happened. Instead of being reunited with her love she was met by an army of men. She knew then that her love was dead. The thought of being captured and forced to marry another was to much for her to bear. So she swam to the middle of the lake were the soldiers could not reach her, their heavy armor would have been the end of them. She knew that she could not stay there forever so with a heavy heart she dove into the lake and inhaled the water, drowning herself.”

“That’s so sad…why couldn’t they just leave her and her lover alone…” Sachi looked on the brink of tears.

“It was the times I guess…” Mahiru shrugged.

“Yeah but you didn’t finish the story Sis…”

“Oh please Kiran the rest is all crap.”

“Well, it may be crap to you miss non believer.”

“Tell us the rest Kiran!” Sachi pleaded.

“Well it’s been said that the girl’s soul was trapped in the lake, never able to free itself from its final resting place. To this day the girl walks along the shores of this lake by singing to her love, trying to sooth his spirit.”
“Why sooth his spirit?” Kagome wondered out loud

“Because he died in a deep hatred for man, HIS soul now walks the forest searching for the men who killed him.”

“Wow that is sad…so close but they are forever out of each others reach…” it took a lot to keep Kagome from looking into Inu yasha’s eyes.

“What’s worse is there have been several; incidents of mauling’s up here in these woods. Bodies found shredded as if by a pack of wild dogs or wolves.” Mahiru lowered her voice as though she was telling a scary campfire story.

“Couldn’t it just be that? Wild dogs?” Sachi gulped

“Well it could be….except for none of the body is ever eaten, just sliced and diced.” Mahiru winked.
