Going Forward
"Shuichi, what time are you leaving? Will you be back home in time for dinner?"
"Yes, mother. Yusuke should be here soon then I will be taking off. I promise to be back for dinner." Kurama walked into his room and shut the door. Yusuke had asked him to go to a movie while Keiko was out with her friends. The ex-detective was anxious to see a new action film that had come out. Keiko refused to go with him stating she'd seen enough real blood and fighting to last her a life time. Kuwawbara was always stuck up Yukina's ass and Hiei, well Hiei was Hiei.
He heard the doorbell ring and went down to greet his friend. He slipped his shoes on and called out, "I'm going now mother."
"Okay have a good time dear."
He walked outside into the afternoon sun. "Yusuke." He greeted the boy, who looked pissed as usual. "Might I ask what is wrong?"
"Kieko dammit, shes pissing me off. Makes me wonder why I married her. She keeps bringing those snotty friends of hers over. She knows I can't stand them bitches."
"Yusuke please. You married Keiko because you love her. I'm sure she finds a few of your friends offensive but deals with it." He walked beside the his friend. It was going to be another hot day.
The boy threw his hands behind his head. "Thats besides the point. I can understand why you remain single."
"Yes, well."
"Speaking of that when are you going to start dating? That friend of Keiko's is still asking about you, I can't remember her name." Yusuke glared at the old couple eyeing him.
"I don't think I'm ready to date yet." The fox stated.
"Why the hell not? When's the last time you've been layed?" He laughed at his own crudeness. "I thought eventually all demons found a mate or some shit."
"Some do. It is not for some."
"How the hell would you know if you don't atleast try." At the fox's expression Yusuke broke out in laughter. "Holy shit you have. Come on Kurama spill the beans."
"I will not." He left no room for arguement. It was bad enough he'd recently ran into a girl that was the spitting image of the girl. He would not speak of her, he didn't want to think about her. It was a good thing she was dead or he'd be tempted to kill her himself. True she had died before his friend. Yet it was because his friend had been so consumed by the girl, he put himself in the position to be killed.
"Fine." Yusuke growled. Who would have fucking thunk it! Kurama had taken a mate at one time. Left Yusuke wondering who she had been and if she was still alive.
Kagome stood at the edge of the well, preparing to go home for a few days. She needed some time to herself and Inuyasha had something he needed to do. The girl from the future had thought about it for the last few days. There would never be a future for her and the hanyou. But he was her best friend and he did want to protect both her and Kikyo. So Kagome had swallowed her pride. She informed him that she was going home for a few days where she'd be safe meanwhile he should go get Kikyo. She was willing to let the woman travel with them. That way Inuyasha would be able to protect them both and be with the woman he loved. She knew he was still upset about Youko marking her but what done was done.
"I'll be waiting for you to come get me once Kikyo is here with you. Then we can set out again." She gave him a smile. "Be careful."
"Sure," He gave her a hug and watched as she disappeared inside. Night was falling and he was going to get some sleep before searching for Kikyo in the morning.
The light surrounded Kagome as she ended up home. She climbed up the ladder and out the well house. Stepping out into the open she felt her soul jerk. The feeling was strange, odd but not unpleasant. She looked around but didn't see anything out of place. It was probably just nerves, so she stepped inside the main house calling out to her mother.
Kurama was at the table with his family plus Yusuke. His mother had invited the boy to join them for dinner. He'd accepted and called Keiko to let her know. He loved the girl but she wasn't a very good cook. His step brother was carrying on a conversation with Yusuke which his parents followed. He sat back and ate his dinner in silence.
He reached for his glass of water, bringing it up to his mouth. A jolt shot through his soul startling him causing the glass to drop. The water splashed on table and in his lap. "Shit."
"Shuichi," his mother scolded him.
"Sorry mother, I'll clean this up." He went to fetch a rag. Yusuke was calling him clumsy as he tried to wipe up the water. Once getting the table dried he excused himself to go change his pants. He walked into his room but didn't change. He found himself staring out the window. What the hell was that? Something had tugged at his soul all of a sudden. Was his senses trying to warn him of something or was it his nerves?
He heard his mother calling for him and quickly changed.
Kagome spent the next few days healing and getting her feelings straightened out. By the time Inuyasha came for her she was ready for this. She would be strong, she would help destroy Naraku. The whole time the odd feeling never left her, it was her constant companion. Nothing bad happened so she ignored it. The moment she leapt through the well to return to the fuedal era the feeling left her.
Kurama was getting irritated and pissed. The feeling was still with him and constantly tugging at him. He decided to ignore it unless something happened. Yet as the days went by it was still there. He was walking down the street deciding to finally see what was wrong. The tug was finally leading him to a section of town he hardly ever visited. It was getting intense as he approached a few buildings. There were a few businesses and down on the end a shrine. He was ready for some answers when all of a sudden the feeling stopped. 'What the hell?' It was gone.
