As Inuyasha heard those words from his perch in the trees above them, heard them laugh about his enslavment, he finally knew the truth. She didn't love him. She never did. She never could. He was nothing more than a source of amusment. A toy that she liked to play with. A pet.

So that was it. Love and friendship were nothing but words. Nobody really loved him.

As he watched them leave for the village, still laughing and talking, the pieces of his broken heart congeled into something new. A hard mass, cold as ice, and black as night.

He jumped down and headed in the opposite direction as fast as he could. He had to get away for now.

She would pay. Not just Kagome, but everyone. Everyone who had ever wronged him.

Sesshomaru first. He could smell his little girl close by.

He hadn't expected this. If Inuyasha's scent wasn't on the corpse, he would've wondered if it had not been an animal that had mauled the wolf.

He had not simply been killed. He had been skinned and it looked like parts of him had been eaten.

And the scent of Inuyasha's seed was still heavy in the air. No wonder animals hadn't touched the corpse. The scent of death and lust and madness made a potent cocktail that was even starting to sicken him.

He would have to be careful. Anyone capable of this level of brutality was capable of anything.

A quick slash of tensaiga, and the wolf lived again.

Inuyasha pulled the jewel shard from the snake youkai's mangled remains. He held it for a moment, noting it's nearly black color. Apparently the snake had put it to good use.

He swallowed it, and stood rigid as corrupt power raced through him. His claws changed, becoming jagged like the blades of a saw. His eyes changed as well, becoming glowing red pools of hate and madness. He was still not a youkai, but certanly was no longer a mere hanyou. He was something more, and less then human or youkai.

He turned to his men. They stood still, in awe of his power.

"We eat well tonight." he gestured at the corpse.

Cheers went up as each man and youkai of his ever-growing force raced to cut their share for cooking.

Inuyasha liked his meat raw, and screaming, if possible.

As my men eat, I go to satisfy a different need.

Update: To answer some questions...

I think that when you are revived be tensaiga it restores your flesh, but not a whole body. Because the wolves who killed Rin had to have swallowed a few chunks of her.
