Summary: Sango finds herself alone and never suspects that she has a silent companion
who watches her every move. M/F
~ ~Thinking to one self or communicating telepathically
It has been about over a week in which Sango and Hiei have been avoiding each other
driving Higaro crazy with all the tension. Sango and Hiei have not even been intimate
since that incident took place a week ago. Suffice it to say the tension between those two
was thick. And frustrated tajiya and demon does not bode well for any innocent
bystanders. Poor Higaro.
Sango had left earlier that morning to the village to see if she could gather any additional
information on the sword. Where as Hiei left to work out some of his frustration on some
poor unsuspecting demons. Since demons where the only thing the tajiya would allow
Hiei to kill. Thus leaving Higaro alone in camp to await their return. Which was not a
good thing. Leaving Higaro to think about all the mischief he plans to brew to get those
two together again. Life was getting dull without their bickering.
‘HENTAI!!’
THWACK
THUMP
Finally, Higaro thinks to himself. Things are getting back to normal. Only to be
shocked by the sight of an angry tajiya being followed by a monk? With a red
handprint on his right cheek.
‘But Sango, I couldn’t help myself. It’s been far to long since I have had the pleasure of
your company.’ The monk said cajolingly. Trying to calm down an angry tajiya.
Sango sighed exasperatedly. ‘You never change monk.’ Sango pointed towards Higaro.
‘Miroku this is my traveling companion Higaro, Higaro this is the lecherous monk
Miroku.’
Miroku put his hands up. ‘Now Sango, that is such a harsh word.’
‘Oh stuff it Miroku.’ And Turned her back on him. ‘Touch me and die monk.’
Miroku, caught in the act of trying to grope her fell over anime style. ‘How does she
always know. I swear she has eyes in back of her head.’
‘More like a hentai detector monk.’ Sango replied. ‘It comes in handy. Kagome taught
me.’
‘Of course. Darn you Kagome.’ Then sighed. ‘I sure do miss her though. I wonder how
the others are doing though.’ Miroku said in a more serious note.
‘Training.’ Was all Sango said.
Sango sat down on a log next to Higaro and invited Miroku to take a seat.
‘So monk what brings you here’ Higaro asked curiously.
Miroku sighed. ‘I heard rumors of demons attacking this village and came to investigate
and offer my services of course.’
‘Services?’ Higaro asked.
‘Don’t let the pervertedness fool you, the houshi here is a very powerful monk.’ Sango
answered for Miroku.
Miroku’s sweat dropped upon hearing this.
‘Really?’ Higaro asked. Now looking skeptically at the monk. ‘How so.’
‘Well his spiritual powers are enormous. Even without his wind tunnel he is formidable.’
‘Wind tunnel?’
Miroku sighed. ‘I used to be cursed with a dark void in my hand that allowed me to suck
everything into it. Fortunately or unfortunately, I have since then been cured of the
curse.’
‘Cursed?’ Higaro asked, intensely curious now.
‘Miroku you miss it don’t you?’ Sango asked. ‘Even though it was a powerful weapon
you should feel elated that you no longer have to face the wretched fate of your demise.’
‘I know Sango, but I can’t just shake off the feeling that someday it will come back and
the end I so feared will come to pass.’ Miroku replied.
‘Oh Miroku.’ Sango sighed. ‘I know what you mean. I still can’t believe it’s finally over.
Completely over.’
Sango and Miroku went deep into thought about all that they suffered while Naraku was
still alive. Don’t get them wrong they are glad that they have finally beaten them. But the
fear that this false sense of security may be another trap and Naraku will rise again kept
them from truly savoring their victory.
Their thoughts were broken by the sounds of some one entering camp.
‘Woman. Who is this human?’ Hiei asked as he entered camp.
‘Hiei this is Miroku, Miroku this is Hiei.’ Sango said.
‘Hmmmmm. Interesting my dear Sango.’ Miroku said while looking back and forth
between Higaro and Hiei. ‘Interesting companions you keep there. An ice youkai and a
fire yokai…wait not completely fire……fire and ice…..a forbidden one…….umph.’
Hiei moved so fast that that as soon as Miroku finished saying forbidden one he had his
hand up around his neck.
‘Careful monk. I don’t want to have to kill you………………yet.’ Hiei told him
menacingly.
‘Hiei leave Miroku alone, he only stated the truth. Hell even I know you’re a forbidden
child.’ Sango told Hiei exasperatedly.
Hiei let go of the monk in surprise. ‘You knew?’ He asked confused.
‘Of course I knew. I’m a tajiya remember. I sense demon auras.’ Sango replied gently.
‘You knew yet you stayed with me.’ Hiei stated. ‘Why?’
‘Because it didn’t, doesn’t matter to me.’ Sango said while looking straight into his eyes,
letting him see that to her it didn’t matter.
Hiei looked at loss for words.
‘Come on monk let’s go for a walk.’ Higaro told Miroku.
Miroku sighed. ‘Just when it was getting interesting.’ Higaro scowled at him. ‘Okay okay
I’m coming already.’ And they both walked into the forest leaving the tajiya and fire
demon alone together.
‘Oh Hiei did you really think it mattered to me that you are a forbidden one?’ Sango
asked.
‘Hn. It is not as if forbidden children are welcomed any where.’ Hiei stated. Hope flaring
up in his heart. If she doesn’t care about his origin, then maybe she might want to stay
with him and be his mate.
‘True, but I am not just anyone.’ A thought suddenly came to her. ‘Is that why you have
not asked me to be your mate?’ Comprehension slowly dawning on her.
‘I did not think you would willing mate with one such as I.’ Hiei said as he slowly closed
in on her. He gently cupped her face with his hand. ‘I have committed many crimes,
many unspeakable acts, how can one such as you want to be with some one such as me?’
He said softly.
‘Oh Hiei,’ Sango sighed looking deep into his eyes. Willing him to see the love shining
through. She gently brought her hand up and cupped the side of his face also. ‘I don’t
care want you have done in your past. No one is perfect and demons can changed. I see
the darkness in you, but I also see the light. There is good in you Hiei, I can see it.’
‘Sango,’ Hiei said softly. ‘Will you be my mate?’
Sango looked deep into his eyes and gave her answer.
