Circumstances We Can’t Avoid

Racing over the hills on her horse she focused on the past events and how she would leave. Would she up and leave with out a word tonight or let them know? One hand tightly on the rains the other at her side Tikya turned the horse back towards the palace with a quick jerk to the right.
Narrowing her eyes she smelt the air and her stomach knotted. Something was in the air, something wasn’t right. With the Palace in sight she jumped off the horse and left it to run back on its own. She on the other hand was at the palace in a flash and burst through the doors and walked down the halls quickly trying not to alarm anyone by running her full demon speed.

Coming to Inutaisho’s study door Sesshoumaru was inside but close to the door while his father had his hands flat on the desk while he leaned there with his head down. Tikya let herself in and stood next to Sesshoumaru.
“What is it Lord Inutaisho?” she asked not paying attention to Sesshoumaru’s glaring eyes, most likely for just walking in.
He didn’t answer for a minute then lifted his head to look at both of them.
“We are going to war against a dragon demon who wants to take over our land.” Was all he said before standing and turning his back to them.
Tikya glanced to her left, opposite of Sesshoumaru, down at the floor biting her lip softly as she thought then turned and left.
She had only just stopped a war by slaughtering her father and now another was on its way and she knew who it was...Inutaisho didn't stand a chance...

Sitting silently in the garden below Inutaisho's study Tikya sat on a stone bench and looked up into the stars before looking away to her left at the ground to deep in her thoughts to notice Inutaisho standing there.
"What troubles you Princess Tikya?" he asked taking her from her thoughts.
"Please do not rush into anything My Lord. This Enemy is strong. If anything let him show himself first, do not seek him out. You must promise this. If you must go into battle than you wait for him first, do not look for him." she told him with saddened eyes.
"Why do you say this Tikya?" he asked confused.
Tikya stood and looked right into his eyes, "This Dragon is very powerful Inutaisho, my mother was lost to him in battle, we had under estimated him and for that almost everyone was wiped out. I couldn't bear to lose you to him as well. It would hurt your family to much. Let me go to him; let me make a deal with him. If I do not send word or if I do not return then you will know his intentions are to wipe you out."
"I will not have you go to that monster Tikya." he told her taking her upper arms in a tight grip letting her know he was deadly serious.
"I was going to leave anyways Lord Inutaisho, you can not stop me. This is my choice." she told him sadly as she looked away from him focusing on the ground again. "I would rather sacrifice myself for you all to be safe then have you risk your life in battle and die when this land and your family needs you." suddenly she was pulled closer to him and he wrapped his arms around her lovingly a hand on her back and another on the back of her head stroking her hair lightly.
His head was next to hers.

"In the short time I have known you Tikya I feel you are one of my own offspring rather then who you really are. I trust you with my life and I trust the lives of my son's and wife in your hands. I wish this war did not exist so I could see you marry my son, I know you would be happy together but he is stubborn like I was at his age I know he has a liking for you but he will not show it just yet and now with this battle about to come it will stay deep inside of him until he is ready to share it with you." the older demon told her hugging her to him lightly.
When she placed her arms around him in response he hugged her tighter. Tikya nuzzled her head into his neck and shoulder and stayed silent for a moment.
"Please be careful in this battle, he uses many tricks. Give me your blessing to carry this deal to Ryukotsei (sp?) and to carry your symbol, please Inutaisho." she looked up into his eyes and he nodded.
"You may do this. But if you come back and there is no deal, protect my family to your best ability." he told her stepping away.
"I shall do that for you My Lord Inutaisho." they bowed to each other and each gave a sad smile and Inutaisho parted from the garden into the Palace.

Two days passed and Tikya stood outside the Palace walls with Sesshoumaru as she instructed him on how to bring his demon whip out.
He was becoming frustrated and Tikya was patient with him.
"Female tell me how to bring it out now or I will dispose of you here and now." he threatened.
"Sesshoumaru be patient." she told him stepping forward and behind him taking his hand and holding it out with hers. She closed his fingers all but the first two and placed her other hand on his other shoulder gently. "Clear your mind. Feel the power in your hand. Feel it flow from your fingers, call it forth in your mind and imagine the target before you, then unleash it." she waited until he nodded then let his hand go.
As soon as she did the yellow whip sprang forth and he drew his hand around and used the whip the snap it at the air before him. It cracked loudly and a crackle of energy sprang forth. Tikya smiled slightly and walked away.

Turning to watch her he suddenly called her back.
"Tikya." he said. "Thank you for being patient."
She merely nodded and smiled slightly before turning back.
He had seen his father and her in the garden a few days ago and had gotten the wrong idea but now he saw it was something else.
They had talked about something important to them and he could smell her sadness every where he went. His father had the same sadness and he knew that they were going to do something that might risk their lives. He couldn't deny that she was a beautiful female and that he had some feelings towards her but he couldn't tell her, or could he?
Right now would not be wise to admit his intentions.
