A Reaction
Kagome nervously followed the hanyou around the large home. Kagome
found herself amazed at the size of the house. He pointed out
several rooms, not walking in them, but just pointing them out.
They walked by a door near Kagome's room and Inuyasha, not
stopping, called out casually, "That's my room right there."
Kagome found herself a little unnerved to find out exaclty
how close Inuyasha's room was to hers. She was left thinking
about this strange boy. She had woken up with this strange
boy in bed with her, curled up next to her, and yet he hadn't
done a thing to her and had never given her an order. He'd never
even raised his voice at her. She wondered, however, if
this happened to just to some sort of act that he was
putting on for her, and once he had her trust, he would
let his true self show and treat her just like everyone
else, and expect her to act as his bed slave. She wouldn't
let that happen....she just couldn't....
Her thoughts stopped abruptly as Kagome realized that
Inuyasha had stopped to turn and stare at her with
worry in his eyes. "Oi, daijoubu?" he asked quietly.
"H...hai, daijoubu..I was thinking...gomen ne for worrying
you, Inuyasha-sama." Kagome said, bowing as she was
always taught to do.
"Oi, I told you, no 'Inuyasha-sama'....just 'Inuyasha'
is fine...only my servants call me 'Inuyasha-sama'. You're
not my servant, Kagome, you're my guest." Inuyasha informed her.
Kagome was stunned, to say the least....had he really just
said that she was not his servant? Then what exactly did
this boy want with her? She had no clue....
"What's wrong?" Inuyasha asked her.
"N...nothing, Inuyasha-sama..." she answered.
"I told you, just Inuyasha.....keh, we'll have wo work
on that, I guess. Come on, there's more to see."
Inuyasha said, walking ahead. Kagome followed him.
At one door, Inuyasha stopped. "Here, I wanted to
show you this room." he said as he opened the door.
Inside the room was a window, a place for a fire
for when it got cold, a window to let light in
and there were shelves that reached from wall to
wall and went up to the cieling in height. The
shelves were covered in what Kagome recognized
to be books. It was magnificent, and Kagome's
eyes widened, taking everything in.
Inuyasha smirked at Kagome's stunned expression.
"You like it?" he asked. "I've never seen so
many books in my life...what is this place?"
Kagome asked. "This is the library." Inuyasha
answered. "Library.." Kagome echoed, quietly,
trying out the foreign word on her tounge. "Oi,
do you know how to read?" Inuyasha asked the girl.
Kagome shook her head. "No, I've seen books before,
but I've never been taught to read or write."
Kagome answered. "Well, if you ever want to
learn how to read, just ask me or Sango. We
both know how to read." Inuyasha stated. Kagome
ragarded him for a moment, then looked
again at all of the books. "Come on."
Inuyasha said, walking again. Kagome
followed him. No one had offered to teach her
to read, and no one would teach someone
of her status to read. Yet he was offering.
They walked to an area that Kagome saw led
outside. "Follow me." Kagome did.
Kagome saw the most beautiful thing she
had ever seen... a garden. There were so many
different kinds of flowers, it was like a painting
with all of the different colors. There were
so many different and beautiful scents coming
from the flowers. She walked on until she reached
the pond that she had seen. It was big enough for
several people to swim in it and there were big
and colorful fish swimming in the water. Inuyasha
watched as Kagome knelt by the side and put her
hand in the water, making the fish scurry and
swim away from her hand. Inuyasha took in the
look of delight on Kagome's face. He was happy
to see her happy...he'd do anything to keep her
happy. Kagome stood up and started at seeing
Inuyasha so close to her. She jumped and let
out a yelp of surprise and at that, Inuyasha
started and he fell straight into the pond
that he was currently standing at the edge
of with a loud splash.
When Inuyasha came up and climbed out of the
pond, Kagome thought that she was in for it...
she knew she was going to get beat for it...
her body stiffened as he got out of the pond,
awaiting seeing his angry face and the beating.
But when he got out, anything but that happened...
he he got down on hands and knees and he
started to shake out like a dog, getting her
wet in the process. He heard a noise and looked
to see what the noise was.....it was a noise
he hadn't heard before....it was Kagome's
laughter.
He'd do anything to hear it again, something
about it....he would give his life to hear
it again.
When Inuyasha stood up again, Kagome stopped...
oh, God....I'm in for it now.....Inuyasha
looked at her, amazed that he had just heard
the girl laugh...and they stood just like
that for a minute.
"Come on." Inuyasha said, walking back towards
the house.
Kagome followed him in.
"Kagome-chan." Kagome heard when she came in
Kagome turned to see Sango coming towards
her.
"Would you take her back to her room?" Inuyasha
asked.
"Sure." Sango said, leading Kagome back to her room.
A few days later, things were going as normal.
Sango and Kagome ate lunch, and Sango was asked
to help in the village. Kagome was out in the garden
that she was shown. suddenly, Kagome felt a hand
on her backside.
Kagome jumped and turned to face a man dressed
in the dress of a monk with blue eyes and
purple outfit. His black hair was back in a
ponytail. "I haven't seen you around here." The
man said in a happy tone, moving closer. She let
out a yelp of fright.
Suddenly, before she could realize what was going
on, a blur of red came and knocked the monk on
on the ground. It was Inuyasha, standing there
snarling, a hand on his throat.
"What the hell were you thinking, bozou?" Inuyasha
growled. "I'm sorry, Inuyasha, she was just sitting
there and I couldn't help it..." he stopped as
Inuyasha's hand cut off air as he pressed harder.
"Try again, bouzou." Inuyasha snarled.
"It....won't....happen....again.." he
gasped out between breaths.
"Apologize." he growled, letting him up.
The monk knelt in front of her, and Kagome
moved away from him a little, then got behind
Inuyasha. Miroku turned to face her.
"My name is Miroku...I'm sorry, its just a
natural reaction.....I promise I meant
no harm....you are?" he asked kindly.
"She's Kagome. Now beat it!" Inuyasha
snarled. He did leave. Kagome was
thankful. "Come on." Inuyasha said
leading her in.
Miroku was a gentleman to her after that,
although Kagome still didn't like to be
around him. Sango had been away a few
days, and suddenly she came in fast, apparantly frantic.
"Inuyasha! Inuyasha!" she called.
"Yes?" Inuyasha asked.
"Someone is coming....and he's
after Kagome....."
found herself amazed at the size of the house. He pointed out
