Healing

It took about an hour when he finally reached the palace. Rin was waiting patiently for his return in the garden. It was her first time being here, but one of the servants had already shown her around. When she heard that Sesshomaru had returned, she bolted right to him.

What she found was him lying an injured woman on a bed. He was telling a servant to heal her. When he turned to face the small child, blood was all over the front of his shirt.

“Yes Rin,” he asked.

“Sesshomaru, what happened?” she asked.

“I don’t know. We’ll have to wait until she’s awake again.” He then left to change.

The day went fast because of all that was happening. Sesshomaru checked on the progress of the woman once before he went to bed. She was asleep, but the blood had been cleaned up and the wounds bandaged.

Sesshomaru didn’t stay up to think like he usually did. It had been a long time since he slept in a bed. Even though his sleep wasn’t peaceful, he was comfortable.

The next morning he went to go check on Auko. He was glad to find that she was awake. Sesshomaru sat down in a chair that had been pulled up next to the bed.

“How are you feeling?” he asked. He was looking out the window that had been opened.

“Ok, I guess,” she replied. “I’m surprised Tork went and got you. I didn’t think you were the helping type.”

Sesshomaru smirked. “Do you want to tell me what happened?”

Auko took a deep breath. “I had just finished fighting a strong demon. I was resting when another attacked me. I did have enough strength to defend myself well. In the end though, I was able to kill him.”

“How long were you laying there before I found you?”

“I’m not sure, but it felt like hours.”

Sesshomaru stood up. “I’ll have a servant bring you some breakfast, but then you need to rest.”

He was about to leave when her voice stopped him. “Sesshomaru,” he turned to look at her. “Thank you for helping me.”

“Think nothing of it,” with that he left.
