A familiar Stranger

*CRRAAAASSSSHHHHH*
“What was that?” Sesshoumaru said jolting from his sleep.
“I didn’t hear anything,” Kaida said opening her eyes and stretching “come back to bed.”
Sesshoumaru got up out of the futon and went to the door and put his ear up to it.
*tap tap tap tap tap*
“Sesshoumaru-sama!” Rin said running into the room scared to death.
“What’s wrong Rin?” Kaida said hugging the girl.
“What’s going on Sesshoumaru?!”
Suddenly the roof of the room flew off. Kaida covered Rin and Sesshoumaru ran over and covered them both with his tail.
“Isn’t this touching?” Naraku said, “The whole family getting ready to die together!”
Sesshoumaru quickly called Tetsusaiga and Tenseiga to him and got within striking distance of Naraku.
“Rin, get behind us.” Kaida said standing up and unsheathing her own sword.
“Sesshoumaru, you have a choice right now. Either you come with me so I can use you and the two swords, and both your precious women live, or I can kill them and still use you. Either way I win.” Naraku said making himself comfortable on the far side of the room. He had the completed Shikon-no-tama in his hands.
“You are a fool to think you can control me with such antics.” He said blanked faced.
“Very well then.”
At once arms out of nowhere where headed straight for Kaida and Rin. Sesshoumaru quickly went to their aid but was blocked off by one of Naraku’s arms. Kaida pushed the girl back to the wall and slashed through the attacking arm. She noticed too late one of them flew in the direction of Rin and smashed her into the far wall…efficiently killing the poor girl.
“RIN!” Kaida screamed putting her guard down. Naraku took the opportunity and grabbed her and put her in front of him to make sure Sesshoumaru wouldn’t attack.
“Now, I’ll ask you again Sesshoumaru. You get to decide whether she lives or dies.”
Sesshoumaru said nothing but simply contemplated the situation, giving Kaida the required time to get one arm out of her captive’s binds. She quickly threw an energy release aimed at the Shikon-no-tama.
‘That’s where the monk said he had his powers, hopefully this works.’ She thought to herself.
Naraku, realizing what was happening, dropped Kaida and blocked himself one second too late. The energy release hit him dead on. The Shikon jewel went flying and Kaida grabbed it as it bounced toward her... Naraku, not being happy about being blown to pieces, threw his deadliest attack at Kaida. He noticed too late that Sesshoumaru got in the way, and it killed him instead of her.
“Dammit. I need one of them to stay alive!” he said. Just then, he heard Kaida screaming at the top of her lungs. After the dust settled, he saw Kaida semi-awake on the floor with the Shikon Jewel in her hand…but she looked different Sesshoumaru’s markings were gone.
“The Shikon jewel kept her alive. Jajajajajaja, well, at least I can use her.” Naraku said out loud staring down at her.
“Get away…

“GET AWAAYY!!” Kaida screamed as she jumped out of her sleep. Sesshoumaru having been in the garden with Rin suddenly felt his mate being scared. He flew inside and went to her room. She was sitting up on the bed with her head in her hands. She was crying. When she heard the door open, she looked up, and seeing who he was, ran to him.
“You’re all right.” She quietly said as she stopped crying.
He didn’t know exactly what to do. But it seemed that just standing there and letting her hug him, calmed her down.
