Yumi stood at the door to the dojo. Kagome had asked her and InuYasha if they could teach her some hand to hand combat, and she was now waiting to enter. She was nervous, not about teaching Kagome, but about seeing InuYasha. It had been at least a week since their kiss in the garden and she was scared. She had usually been indifferent towards males before, and here InuYasha had totally thrown her usual indifference out the window. She wanted him to care for her; she was pretty much consumed by her thoughts as of late, much to the irritation of her brother and the other Lords. Yumi let out a heavy sigh. ‘Why do I love you, InuYasha?’ she asked herself as she then walked inside the darkened dojo.
InuYasha looked up to see Yumi entering the room. He hadn’t been waiting for the girls for very long, of course he had expected Kagome to be with Yumi. He was about to ask where she was when the doors and windows all slammed shut, locking the two of them inside.
“What the hell?” he growled.
Then he heard a group of voices outside the door. “This is for your own good guys!” he heard Kagome say.
“You two need to figure things out, and stop bothering the rest of us,” Jin added.
“Have fun, InuYasha,” his brother’s voice floated through.
InuYasha was fuming. “You guys let us out!” he shouted as he smashed his hand upon the door, only to be repelled by a magical ward. “Damn it, Kagome! Let. Us. Out!”
“Sorry, InuYasha, but it’s for the best!” she called once again.
“I’m going to kill them, when the spell wears off,” the hanyou grumbled as he sat down and pouted.
Yumi took a seat as well; it was going to be a long night.

InuYasha paced back and forth in front of the door. He hated to be confined inside, it made him very… restless. He was ready to start smashing against the door again when Yumi spoke up.
“Will you cut that out? You’re giving me a headache!”
“Well, I wouldn’t be in here if Kagome hadn’t warded the damn door!”
“Is it that bad? At least you’re not a.” .”
“Neither are you,” he added.
“I feel alone,” she mumbled. “This is your entire fault!” she finally shouted.
“Nani?” InuYasha gave Yumi a strange look.
“If you hadn’t kissed me in the god damned garden we wouldn’t be stuck here!”
“Wait… this is ‘cause I kissed you?” he asked.
Yumi blushed. “Um… yeah. I kinda haven’t been paying attention at the war council, and I guess it, um, pissed the other Lords off.”
“Not to mention, InuYasha’s been moping about the castle like a love-sick puppy!” Miroku’s voice came in through the door.
InuYasha scowled. “Miroku! I knew it! You are so dead when I get out of here!”
“Is what the lecher says, true?” Yumi asked. “Have you been dwelling on it as well?”
InuYasha blushed. “Well… I … um… maybe?”
Yumi smiled. “Look at us, two warriors that become babbling fools with a single kiss.”
InuYasha smirked as he sat next to Yumi. “Yeah,” he sighed.
“It’s not that it was a bad kiss.”
“I hope not.”
“I really have been acting weird, I feel bad for Jin and Sesshomaru, they must be pissed as hell at me,” Yumi said as she lay on her back and stared at the darkened ceiling.
InuYasha gazed down at Yumi. She was dressed in her usual white haori and blue hakema that she used for training. Her hair was up in a loose bun, allowing a few strands to fall across her face. Her blue rimmed, ice colored eyes, sparkled in a moonlight as her crimson lips were parted slightly to let out breath. InuYasha smiled at her almost effortless beauty. “Did you mean it?” he asked.
Yumi turned her face to him her eyes holding a questioning. “Nani?”
“That you had feelings for me. Did you mean it?” he asked.
“Did you, when you said you felt the same?” she countered.
“I was confused, but now I know that I do,” he thought out loud.
Yumi propped herself up on her elbows. “Truly?”
InuYasha then smirked as he leaned in and kissed her while taking her in his arms. The kiss was gentle, like kissing rose petals. Yumi slowly wrapped her arms around his shoulders and began to kiss back. InuYasha moaned as he felt her press back and softly brushed his fangs against her bottom lip, begging for entrance. Yumi gasped at the sensation, giving him a chance to thrust his tongue into her sweet cavern and taste of her.
