Chapter 7 ~ Love, finally

It took a while for the initial shock of what had happened to wear off fully. When it did, Kagome was squirming for Inuyasha to let her go, which he did. Inuyasha wanted to find out if this meant that Kagome was cured, could she talk? What happened? These thoughts were running through Kagome’s and Inuyasha’s minds both. Inuyasha spoke gently to Kagome, not wanting to frighten her. She looked like he felt….amazed. “Kagome?” he asked gently. Kagome looked at him. “Try saying ‘water’.” Kagome’s mouth moved, forming the outline of the word she wanted to say, however, nothing happened, no sound came out. Kagome hung her head, shaking her head no. “You can’t do it?” She shook her head again. “Well, in any case, I’m going to get Miroku and Sango to watch you. I don’t want you alone. I’m going to get Kaede-baabaa.”
Inuyasha picked up Kagome bridal-style and carried her to Miroku’s hut and banged on the door. “Oi, Miroku!” “Hold on, hold on!” Miroku said from inside. He opened the door to see Inuyasha holding Kagome. “Look, come to the hut and bring Sango with you. I’ll meet you at my cave, understood?” “H..hai.” Miroku answered. Kagome was carried back to the cave and unceremoniously dropped on her butt on the floor. Soon enough, Miroku and a woman who was just a hare taller than Kagome with long black hair tied in a high pony-tail behind her entered the cave. “What’s this all about, Inuyasha?” the young woman asked impatiently. “Look, I need you two to watch Kagome for me. I’m not leaving her alone. I’m going to get Kaede-baabaa.” He answered hurriedly. “But why both of us?” Miroku asked. “Because I know what a pervert you are, bozou, and Sango’s here to protect Kagome.” Inuyasha answered. “I’m hurt.” Miroku pouted. Inuyasha rolled his eyes. “Look, just watch her, will you? I’ll be back.” Miroku and the young woman nodded in understanding as he left.
“So, we meet again. What good fortune.” Miroku said, moving closer to Kagome. Kagome backed away, signing “Don’t like you.” Sango watched the interaction. “Houshi-sama, will you just leave her alone, will you? She’s obviously not taking to you.” The young woman said. The young woman moved closer to Kagome, and Kagome scooted away from Miroku and closer to the young woman and safety. “I’m Sango.” Sango said with a smile. “What is your name?” “She can’t answer you.” Miroku answered. “Huh? Why not?” she asked. “Can’t talk.” Miroku answered. “Really?” Sango asked Kagome. Kagome nodded. “Well, then, I’ll just talk to you. Do you mind?” Kagome smiled and shook her head, then made a motion towards Miroku, who was perilously close to Kagome’s butt. “She wants you away from her, hentai.” Sango said angrily. Laughing nervously, he backed off. Sango talked for a while with Kagome about anything and everything. Kagome loved it, except for the gropes from Miroku. Sango knocked him out, making Kagome smile. Before she knew it, Inuyasha was back with Kaede. Sango and Miroku left, and Kagome ran to Kaede, hugging her. “I’m happy to see you, too, child.” She laughed. Kagome sat, and Kaede sat next to her. “Now I hear from Inuyasha that you said his name?” Kaede asked. Kagome started signing “Yes! Someone look like Inuyasha come try take me, I see Inuyasha, I call his name.” “You did?” Kaede asked. “Yes.” She signed back. “Do you know what happened, child?” Kaede asked. Kagome shook her head. “Let me look at you.” Kaede said. After Kagome was checked out, Kaede was baffled. “I see no signs of improvement in her vocal chords, and, well, no explanation why the girl said your name. Technically, she shouldn’t be able to. I don’t know what to tell you.” Kaede said. “Arigato, baa-baa.” Inuyasha said. Kaede left with a hug from Kagome.
“Look, Kagome? I mean, Kaede doesn’t know what happened. Do you have any clue?” Kagome signed ‘don’t know’. Inuyasha sighed. “If only I could hear your voice again….just once….” Kagome looked at him, astonished. “What?” Inuyasha asked. ‘Inuyasha , you want hear my voice, why?’ Kagome signed. “Because…..I can’t explain it…I realized, when I heard you say my name, how much I wanted to hear it.” He said, looking into the fire. Kagome crawled over to him and tugged on his sleeve. “What is it?” Inuyasha asked. ‘Inuyasha…you like me?’ Kagome signed. “Of course I like you, wench.” He said, brushing it aside. Kagome tugged harder on his sleeve. “What?” ‘Inuyasha ….you….love me?’ Kagome signed. Inuyasha just stared at her. What could he say? He….he realized, in all the time, he couldn’t imagine himself….without her…..when had that happened? Then he saw Kagome, looking intently at him for an answer. “Kagome, I………yes, I love you.” Kagome grinned and hugged him. That turned into a tender kiss, which turned into a passionate kiss. Neither knew when it had changed. However, both wound up naked, wanting more.
Then, kagome started shaking. “Kagome, what is it?” Inuyasha asked quietly. ‘scared’ Kagome signed, shaking harder. “Scared of me?” Inuyasha asked. ‘no, scared…hurt……hate …….” She started sobbing. Inuyasha pulled her on his lap and started rocking her. “Shhh…….yeah, I know……look, I promise, this won’t hurt…..I’ll be gentile.” Kagome sniffled and nodded. Inuyasha knew he had to get her ready for this. She was too scared. Kagome felt him kiss his way down, and her mouth opened in shock when he started fondling and kissing and suckling her breasts.
