Chapter Sixty Seven

Saio and Ninia crept through the forest. The scent of death and alchemy lingered among the leaves. They were on the right trail. It had been a week since Sesshoumaru had issued his orders to them. Every clue they came across pointed them in this direction.

"That has to be it. Whatever it is, it's in that fortress" Saio said. Beside her Ninia agreed, "Do we return and tell Lord Sesshoumaru?" she asked. Saio shook her head, "I want to try and get closer, a little more information would be more than helpful".

----------------------------------------~

"I am glad that your little experiment worked well Alastair" the male said, his tone impatient. Alastair chuckled, his eyes moving to the training yard where Josin trained himself. "Yes it did work well" he agreed. "When will you act?" the other asked. Alastair gave a dismissive shrug, "Soon enough" he replied, "You shouldn't worry overmuch. Victory is assured".

The other snorted and flexed his claws, "You must not underestimate them. Many have done so before and fallen". Alastair let his eyes move to the other, "You worry needlessly" he told him, "When the time comes you shall have what you want and I shall have what I need".

The other checked the progress of the sun in the sky, "I have to get going. Don't let me down". He strode away. Alastair watched the departure of his unlikely ally. He had his uses, despite being an arrogant prick. Josin landed lightly behind him.

"He will soon outlive his usefulness" he said quietly. Alastair nodded. Josin smirked, "Another week and we won't need him. I'll deal with it then. Have him return here in that time, it will make things easier". Alastair nodded. Josin was right, he was always right.

Golden eyes lifted to the horizon, someone was out there. Someone uninvited. Reaching back over his shoulder, he plucked single pristine feather from his wing. Holding it between two fingers he chuckled, "Fly and silence" he commanded. The feather shot from his fingertips like a bolt of charged current.

----------------------------------~
"Did you see him?" Ninia asked. Saio nodded, "Yeah, that bastard. We have to get back to the west as soon as possible. My uncle has to know about this". Racing through the trees, they covered ground in a blur of forest floor and grassy field.

Ninia was not as fast as Saio and lagged behind, though just barely. It was then that she felt a burning pain in her chest. She stumbled, hitting the ground hard. Saio looked over her shoulder to see her friend and partner go down. She circled back but Ninia waved her off, "Get out of here!" she cried, "Go! They have to know!"

Blossoming across her chest was dark, wet stain. The tip of a white feather protruded from her chest. It had punched through her chest and back, through the enhanced leather of her uniform. Pain lanced through her and she tried to get up and continue on.

Saio didn't want to leave her. Ninia's brow furrowed, "You are in the league" she snapped, "You have a duty to uphold! This is the one chance. Now go!". Saio's hands clenched into fists, her heart breaking in that moment. "I can't leave you to die!" she cried out, "I can carry you!". Ninia shook her head, "I am already dead Saio. I am only human after all. Tell Lord Sesshoumaru that I was honored to know him".

Saio nodded, and dashed away. She dare not look back, even now her enemy could be closing in on her. She ran, her legs pumping hard. If she could just clear of the trees she could form a cloud and fly. "I'll avenge your death Ninia. I swear" she whispered.

Ninia struggled to rise, to crawl away from her current position. She had no desire to be captured. Dying or no, she knew that they would make it worse for her. She was not a coward, but she figured dying should be enough.

Her progress was nearly non-existent. Her strength giving out, and she collapsed. She lay on her stomach, blood seeping from her mouth. Well, at least she had died on her terms, serving a good lord that she believed in. With all of her heart. "Run Saio" she whispered to the air. "Run fast and far".

Funny, she thought, hadn't she always known that serving the demon lord would end in her death? Yes, she had and she'd accepted it fully. Now as she lay there bleeding and gasping for air, she wondered would she change it all if she were offered another chance.

Rolling over onto her back, grimacing in pain as she did so. She peered up at the green leaves. At the golden sunlight filtering through to her face. Golden like the eyes of the Taisho, warm like their companionship. Tears ran down her cheeks and she laughed. "I wouldn't change a thing".

-----------------------------------~

Silvana sat with Taima for long hours. She was a calm person and therefore her presence was not difficult for the pained demoness. "I am glad that you came" she said. Silvana smiled, "Of course I wanted to come. I am so pleased to meet you" she said softly.

Taima nodded, "You are like me" she said, "You feel the pain of others". Silvana looked around the dimly lit room. "Yes. But I don't think my ability is as sensitive as yours. I am able to stand the company of most people. Although sometimes not easily" she admitted. Taima laughed, a light sound that caused Ryu to look up from the corner where he'd been sitting. Taima rarely laughed.

"But you put up with my cousin, so it must not be so bad" she pointed out. Silvana smiled, "Yes, that's true". Ryu grumbled, his ears twitching. Taima chuckled, "Then again" she added, "You might simply be a paragon of sweetness". Silvana joined her then. Ryu pushed away from the wall, "I'll be outside ladies" he grumbled much to their amusement.

When he was gone, Taima's laughter faded and her expression became somber. "You must be ready" she told Silvana. The elemental blinked, "For the battle?". Taima nodded, "Yes. That which you have is needed. You must not bind it away…… not yet".

Silvana stared down at her hand, where the band of metal sat glimmering in the lamp light. "I can't wed Ryu" she whispered. Taima lifted her chin with her fingertips, "Of course you can. But you must not be restrained in any way. To do so, is to lose". Silvana nodded, she understood. Well, partly. The question was…would he?

She left Taima a short while later, wandering up the curved stairs to where he waited. He took one look at her face and growled, "What's wrong?" he asked her. She took his hand and then pressed herself against him. He wrapped his arms around her, feeling the sadness wash from her in tangible waves.

"We have a lot of things to talk about Ryu" she said at last, "Better get it done with the others present". He nodded, not sure what was going on but knowing he didn't like it. Not one damn bit.

------------------------------------------~

Alastair grimaced against the binding that held him fast. Josin had mercilessly tied him down, bent over the table. Not that he wasn't liking all that was occurring but he'd never been the one to submit in sexual play. It seemed now he would have to.

Josin trailed his tongue up from the base of Alastair's spine, causing the flesh to twitch under his caress. A clawed hand pushed the thick hair from Alastair's neck. A soft kiss was placed at the nape. A rush of warm air followed.

Alastair moaned softly and Josin bit deeply. Blood running from the wound, most into the waiting, sucking mouth of Josin. Alastair felt the warm trickles of what escaped him run over his flesh. Josin growled against him. His hunger rising with each passing moment.

Josin lapped at the wound, the mark. The wound that bound. After tonight, Alastair would be a shell of a being. His human soul lost forever and the demon lying within would be free to serve him. Funny how people never really had the foresight to carefully consider such endeavors.

The clawed hand roved over the pale hip, sliding lower to fondle the heavy erection of the prostrated man. "So you desire me that much do you?" he asked in a low voice against the rounded shell of his ear.

Alastair whimpered. The one within was raging to be loose, and he was slowly losing the battle. Something told him that he should have known that his end lie down this path, but even now he refused to believe it. They were here because Josin wanted him too. Yes, that was it.

Josin trailed his hand upwards from the length of Alastair's body, to the crevice where his puckered orifice lay hidden. "Soon all of you will be mine" he whispered. Alastair felt heat pool in his groin at those words. Soon.

Josin leapt lightly onto the table and placed Alastair's head in his lap. "Now Alastair, show me your desire for me" he crooned. The other man slowly lifted his head to lap at the bulbous tip of Josin's sex. Soon, he was able to suck him deeply inside his mouth. Josin held his head with one hand, the other braced behind him.

Alastair was quite skilled and soon the winged being was panting with need. "I think that there is enough moisture here" he said at last and moved swiftly behind the bent form. "This is your first time being taken is it?" he asked, already knowing the answer. "Rest assured Alastair, it will be your last as well". Alastair stiffened " Wh- What?" he asked.

Josin chuckled, "Oh yes. Don't you recall I said I wanted your soul?" he asked. Alastair did recall. "Well what I want is for your soul to quit this form, when you release… it will". Alastair struggled against his bindings. Josin smiled, he liked it. "That's it Alastair, struggle and tense. It makes you tighter when you do" he cooed.

Alastair felt desire and fear rage through him. "You tricked me" he panted, growing weary. Josin sighed, "You thought you were meant to guide and control me is that right? You were in my way. I have set objectives".

Alastair whimpered as the thick head pressed against his tight opening. Josin could have merely shoved forward, yet he did not. He slowly stretched the aching hole until Alastair's body accepted him, pulling him deep inside.

Golden eyes closed at the feeling. And he grabbed Alastair's hips as he began to roll his hips slowly forward, pumping the smaller man. Alastair panted beneath him. It had hurt him, but not overly so. He recalled Josin's words…… when you release……. Alastair concentrated on the stone floor.

If he did not release his soul would remain. All he had to do was keep from coming. Josin knew his plan. He chuckled as he felt Alastair's mind drift from the use of his body. Dragging his claws down the pale back he forced Alastair to return to him. A hot tongue slid over the wounds. The thrusts against him continued, a hard, hot length massaging his inner walls. Delicious tingles of sensation came with them.

Seconds became minutes, became much longer and Alastair held on with all of his might. But it was getting harder to resist. Josin was a skilled lover and his actions were starting to override everything else in Alastair's mind. He turned his head to the side and caught the golden eyes, "I am your creator" he whispered as release began to rise.

The hard length within his body pounding into the soft spongy spot that brought him such pleasure. Josin licked the tear from his cheek, "No Alastair" he replied, "I was your creator, I made the pathway. I planted the seed. I am the creator". With another hard thrust that forced Alastair onto the tips of his toes, he brought the bound man to release.

Alastair's voice ripped through the night, echoing down empty corridors and bouncing back to them. "NO!" His seed spattered across the floor as his soul was wrenched from his body and relegated to the cold darkness. A world where he could see and hear and feel and do nothing about it.

Josin slashed through the ropes that held the body down. The demon within purred in response, "I have a body once more" he said with a smirk. Josin smiled down at him as he came. Together they would see the end of the world as it was known.
